Theme : Sharing A Bed

Theo’s POV

“Do you want to sleep on this bed with me?”
I froze at her words, staring at her in surprise.
Did she actually just ask me that?
For once in my life, I was rendered speechless. I didn’t know how to reply.
She also seemed to be shocked by her own question as her gray eyes widened in shock.

We both said nothing for a while before I decided to break the silence.
“I would ask if you would mind…but I have a feeling you’re already regretting your offer.” I chuckled, amused at her shocked face.
I knew I had to decline her offer, I couldn’t afford to get too close.
I’m going to decline her offer before I make the mistake on sharing another beautiful moment with her. That’s what my mind was telling me but heart felt otherwise.
“So I’m accepting your offer before you could take it back.” I heard myself say, going against any complaints my logical brain had.
Elisia watched me in alarm, her cute cheeks flushed from being flustered.
This is dangerous, I suddenly thought.
Even with her injured, confined to her hospital bed in a hospital gown, I still found her to be irresistable.

I’d already accepted her offer and there’s no way I’d go back on my decision. I hope I find the strength to surpress any kind of desire I may have.

The desire to…
Cuddle with her
Kiss her
Oh, God…
Mate with her
I’m only sharing a bed with her, I mentally chanted as I stood up to take my shoes off.
I heard her gasp a little, innocent eyes trained on me taking my shoes off. She probably thought I wasn’t going go through with it.
“Hey, you’re the one who offered your bed.” I reminded her, smirking at her expression.
I put my hands up in surrender when she glared at me.
“Your hospital bed is big enough to fit the both of us…now do you need help scooting over?” I continued, gesturing to the bed.
She opened her mouth and closed it again, looking unsure.
“Elisia, we’re only sharing a bed. Does that make you feel uncomfortable?” I sighed, trying to spark some reaction from her.
I knew sharing a bed was a big deal, especially since we’re mates. But I knew if I pushed her buttons, she would gladly invite me into her bed.
To sleep, of course.
Like I expected, her expression turned from unsure to sour when I said that.
“No, it doesn’t.” She shot back. “Jump right in.”
I raised my eyebrows in surprise, amused at her choice of words; ‘Jump right in.’
I watched her scoot carefully towards the left side of the bed, giving me space to lay on. I nervously watched for any signs of pain on her face when she moved, but she seemed fine. When she settled, she looked my way to see me sliding into the bed and pulling the covers over us.
And that’s when it started.
I laid there rigid, shocked at how hyperaware I was of her body laying a couple inches away from me.
I closed my eyes, supressing the urge to cover the small distance and hold her…touch her. I felt her shiver beside me, whether it was because of me or the cold, I wasn’t sure.
I moved my legs closer to hers without her noticing, my legs were pretty warm so it should warm up her soon.
Our heads were turned so that we were facing each other, staring into each other eyes.
I felt her move her legs causing one of them to unexpectantly rub against mine. A series of electrifying sparks of pleasure began course through me from that simple touch.
I let out a quiet gasp from the skin-to-skin contact.
Elisia’s eyes widened in amazment and in shock, probably feeling the same effects.
I noticed that both of our breathing were matching, uneven and heavy. This much proximity was obviously affecting the both of us.
“The bruises and cuts on your faces have healed.” I spoke up, desperate to put my focus elsewhere.
She gingerly brought her hand to her face and began touching where she was hurt.
“That’s good.” She breathed in relief, a smile dancing on her face.
She looked down in dismay, reminded of her other injuries. “But my ribs would take days to heal.”

Before I could stop myself, I brought my hand to her cheek and cupped it gently.
“You’ll heal before you know it.” I reassured her with a small smile.
Her hand suddenly came flying towards my face and poked my cheek.
“There it is!” She squealed happily, eyes lighting up. “Your dimpled smile!”
I watched her in amazment, how could someone be so happy to see a dent in my cheek?
How could someone be this beauiful?
I asked myself this as I watched her animately talk about my smile.
Her face glowed golden and her sweet strawberry coloured lips were curled up into a beautiful smile, showcasing her halo, white teeth.
Her dainty nose crinkled a little whenever she got excited, something I thought was adorable.
It was kind of her to notice how uncomfortable I was on that chair and offer me to sleep on the bed instead. Her inner beauty shone through, lit her eyes and softened her features, I couldn’t help but smile along too.
I would’ve smiled more if I knew it made her this happy…
“Theo?”
I blinked hard, snapping out of it and focusing on what she was saying.
“What?” I replied, wondering what I was going to say if she asks if I was paying attention.
“You kind of blanked out.” She smiled, shaking her head a little.
Oh, I was just thinking about how beautiful and adorable you are.
Instead of saying that, I just shrugged making her sigh.
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
I raised my eyesbrows, not expecting her to ask me that.
“Cats have fewer toes on their back paws.”Elisia stared at me as though I’d grown a foot through my head. I held back smile, knowing that’s not the kind of answer she wanted.
She took a deep breath in and said, “Really?”
I watched her expression turn from confused to amazed, why is she so damn cute?
“I really didn’t know that.” She started laughing and then stopped to hit my arm. “But you know I didn’t mean it like that.”
“Ow!” I overreacted holding my arm, hoping her reaction was to rub it better.
Unfortunately, I received an unimpressed look instead.
“Okay, so what did you mean then?” I chuckled, dropping the act quick.
She bit her plump cherry lips anxiously before answering. “Something about you that I don’t know.”
I sighed, not sure if I was okay with it. I had so many secrets that I’ve worked hard to keep from the world, I was afraid that they would all come spilling out.
Because it’s her .

“Only if you play along.” I countered, making her smile.
“Alright then.” She said triumphantly. “You first.”
I thought long and hard about what I could tell her, I’ll start with an easy one. “My favourite colour is gray.”
“Mine is blue, it used to be black.” She said thoughtfully.
“The rumors about me actually bother me.” I confessed out of the blue.
This made her face me and catch my gaze, looking concerned. “Really? Tell me about it.”
“The rumors about me being a carbon copy of my father bother me the most.” I admitted, sneering in disgust. “I’m nothing like the scumbag he was.”
Elisia gasped at this and asked, “I’m guessing you didn’t have a good relationship with him.”

I scoffed. “There wasn’t even a relationship to call bad. He wasn’t my father, he was my Alpha.”
“Were you closer to your mother?” She asked quietly, fiddling with the edge of the duvet.
“Much closer, I loved her so much.” I answered, reminded of the bittersweet memories.
“What was her name?” She questioned, curiosity seeping into her voice.
I glanced at her in surprise, wondering why she didn’t know already.
She seemed to have understood my expression as she elaborated further. “Well, everyone knows who your father was…but anything about his mate, the Luna of this pack, remained a mystery.”
“Her name was Ella. Ella Hunter.”
We fell into silence after that, digesting what we had just talked about.
“What was it about your father that made you dislike him?” She asked, watching me expectantly.
“Everything he’d ever done or said in his entire life was done for himself, and only himself. He was the most selfish person to ever walk the planet.” I started to say, purposely avoiding the main reason I hated him.
“He was a cheat, murderer, corrupt and horrible person in general; I pitied my mum for being paired with that poor excuse of a man.”
“But you already knew all about that.” I said, facing her. “Didn’t you?”
She looked mildly surprised.”Huh?”
I turned away again and sighed, putting an arm behind my neck. “I know my father is nick-named The Mad Alpha, I don’t live under a rock.”She remained quiet, not denying nor agreeing with me.
“Why do I feel like there’s more to the story than you’re letting on?” She whispered beside me. “Like you dislike him for another reason?”
My heart felt like it had almost stopped, alarmed at what she’d said. How did she know that there was another reason to hate my father? It was like she could read my mind.
I looked at her to see her watching me with so much curiosity. “Do you want to tell me about it?” She prompted, smiling encouragingly.
A painful memory including both of my parents crossed my mind, making me visibly flinch.
She noticed this and reached a hand out to put on my shoulder. “It’s completely fine if you don’t want to tell me or if you can’t tell me.”
I nodded, mentally agreeing that I wasn’t ready to talk about that part of my past yet. It’s a painful and dark memory that I wasn’t sure I would ever let stain Elisia’s purity.
“Your turn.” I reminded her.
She thought hard for a while, brow furrowed a little. “Do you remember the day I collapsed in Ms Williams cottage?”
“Of course.” I replied, recalling the memories of that day. It was also the day I’d initiated the beginning stages of the mate bond process.
“I said I didn’t know what caused it when Ethan asked me in the hospital, but I think I do.” She explained slowly, looking hesitant to share what’s on her mind.
“What do you think it was?” I questioned, frowning at the white ceiling.
“This will sound so weird, so bare with me.” She began to say. “The pain started when Ms Williams said a word.”
“A word?” I repeated, sitting up. “A word triggered the chest pain?”
“I’ve replayed that day over and over in my head, and I have no other explanation.” She said thoughtfully. “The fact that doctors couldn’t come up with a diagnosis, makes me feel like it’s possible. I remember the pain worsened when she kept using that word”
“What was the word?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Alpha.”
I frowned, looking at her. “Alpha?”
She nodded with defeat written on her face. “Yeah, I don’t get it either. “
I looked away before she could read my face and realise something was up.
Contrary to what she thought, I understood it perfectly.
I’ve had a crazy theory since I realised she had to be from The MoonKnight pack, suddenly it didn’t seem so crazy anymore.
It wasn’t hard to put the pieces together.
Elisia is an orphan, unaware of her birth pack because all scents have been cut off due to the leaders of the pack dying at the same time.
They were murdered, of course. No one, other than except my father, mother, The Rogue Force and I, know the details.
The only pack in the last few decades to have had that many losses is The MoonKnight Pack. The attack on the pack happened when I was two years old, she must’ve been a newborn then.
She was abandoned as a newborn on The Imperial Pride Pack for her safety.
It made complete sense.
But what sent chills and uneasyness throughout my body what the kind of person Elisia was.
She’s unusually strong and incredibly fast for a female and for someone of her rank, which made me think she orginally comes from one of the big three leaders of the pack.
She must either be the daughter of a Gamma, Beta…or even Alpha wolf.
I’d prayed and hoped it was the either of the first two, but hearing her theory about her chest pain made me feel anxious.
Ms Williams originally belongs to The MoonKnight Pack, so maybe her saying the word ‘Alpha’ has triggered some kind of Alpha-blooded innate response to the word.
If she was the only child of the Alpha, then it would make sense that she reacted to a fellow original pack member saying the word ‘Alpha’.
If her pack wasn’t attacked by my father, she would’ve been Alpha.
But that isn’t what was bothering me.
Not at all.

If my theory’s right, that meant she is the daughter of Lily and Alexander Gray.
I turned to look at Elisia, who was trying to fight off sleep.
“Go to sleep.” I said softly.
She nodded slightly, sighing contently.
I’ll make sure she never finds what happened to her parents.
It’s too sad and dark for her to deal with, I thought as I watched her fall asleep.
I laid back down and stared at the ceiling thinking hard about how her parents looked like…I couldn’t remember at all.
I’m sure I’ve seen a picture of Lily posing with my father, it should be back at the lakehouse. It’s been years since I’d gone through his stuff in the library.
Something deep within me desperately hoped that this was all some kind of crazy coincidence, but it seemed unlikely.
I couldn’t bring myself to sleep, Elisia would invade my thoughts whenever I tried.
Instead, I turned on my side and watched Elisia sleep for a while.
Her face was free of worry and was replaced with relaxation. Her long, black curled lashes fluttered a little showing, contrasting her light complexion.
Her lips were slightly curled up, making me wonder if she was dreaming already. I couldn’t rip my gaze off her lips, wanting to give her peck.
But I wouldn’t…I couldn’t do that, not while she’s sleeping.

I felt so bad that I couldn’t provide the love and intimacy a mate usually gives. I know can’t give myself to her and I shouldn’t give her any indication that that would happen.
Many years ago, I promised myself to not let my future mate get close to me and here I was sharing her bed.
It’s her hospital bed, but still.
It would be a matter time before I give into her and set myself up for disappointment. I’ve learnt from my mother’s experience and won’t make the same mistake.
I felt her shift beside me, her head moving and settling on my shoulder.
I breathed out heavily, my heart pounding against my chest. I found everything she does so adorable.
“What are you doing to me?” I whispered, tenderly smoothing back her wavy hair. My gaze followed the long trail of her brown hair, it flowed down the length of her back.
I stared at her beautiful, relaxed face for a few more seconds before making a decision.
Fuck it.
I moved towards her figure, being careful not to wake her up. I wrapped my arms around her small, fragile body and held her close to me.
The move sparked emotions of happiness and endearment with me.
She was in deep sleep, but still shifted to get comfortable and found herself snuggling her face into my chest.

I laid my head on top of hers, feeling very content in this position. I was holding her with so much fondness and warmth that it almost scared me.
I was going against my own promise, but I couldn’t have cared less in that moment.

Give me just this night.
Just this night…
