The Female Warrior And The Alpha Episode 40 by Yasminne
Theme : Erebus = Darkness
Theo’s POV
“Something tells me, they sent the weakest to fight us on purpose.” Elisia mused, her brow furrowing in deep thought.
I couldn’t help but agree, no way would they seriously send these two rogues to fight two Alphas. Something didn’t add up, what was their motive?
Was it safe to continue to travel to the third town that was inhabited by The MoonKnight Pack members? Kobi is working with the rogues after all, he could’ve disclosed our destination to these lonesome fuckers.
“Do you think there is more, waiting for us ahead?” Elisia asked, her grey eyes flickering down the road.
“It’s very likely.”
“I’m going to meet my pack today, I won’t let them stop me.” She snarled, marching towards the vehicle. I raised my eyebrows, admiring her determination and courage.
I glanced at the rogue she took down, still thinking about how she was toying with him. She might’ve not realised it, but she was taunting him throughout their entire fight.
“Let’s go.” I cheered, getting into the driver’s seat. I started the engine and drove off as she began to put on her seatbelt. I bit back a smile at that and carried on driving.
Chances are, we will be outnumbered and that’s not a problem, I completely believe we’ll be the best team. It’ll be hard to beat two Alpha’s with extensive fighting backgrounds.
“Alpha, we have arrived and have encountered two unconscious rogues. Can you confirm that you haven’t come across any others?” One of my warriors mind-linked me.
“Affirmative.”
“Would you like one of us to come with you?”
“No, but thanks anyway.” I replied, not wanting anyone to join our company.
“Alright, we’re on our way back. If you need backup, contact the border warriors since they’re the closest.” They said before the line disconnected.
“The warriors are taking those rogues back to the main town for interrogation.” I said out loud, glancing at Elisia. “Now that we have secured them, everyone else can just be killed.”
“Alright.”
I couldn’t help but check her out in that moment, she looked so fucking badass. She wore a black on black outfit, reminding me of what warriors specialising in assassination wore.
She wore her hair down, letting it frame her beautiful face. My heart started to race faster the more I looked at her. Feeling flustered I looked away, internally begging my heart to calm down.
It had only been fifteen minutes before the sickening, foul stench of rogues had became apparent. We glanced at each other, the both of us sensing them at the same time. I pulled over and turned off the engine, there were definitely way more rogues this time.
Elisia hopped out first, her hand absently touching the lock of hair that was cut by the rogue earlier. I studied her face, looking for any signs of hesitation or fear, but found nothing but unwavering courage. I could even sense a little excitement from her, if I’m not mistaken.
I got out the car and walked with her on the road, hyperaware of our surroundings. All at once, five rogues appeared from their hiding spots and surrounded us.
“Is this all?” Elisia asked in the mind-link in surprise. She widened her stance, scanning the area for more rogues.
This couldn’t be it, I frowned as I kept tuning my sensitive hearing. “I guess so.”The tallest rogue of the bunch put his hand up, successfully catching our attention. He brought that hand down and cupped it behind his ear, indicating that we tune our sensitive hearing to listen to what he has to say.
I narrowed my eyes at him, but paid close attention to what he had to say.
“Hello, Theo Hunter.” He greeted me with a grin. His gaze moved onto Elisia, making me take a step forward. “Hello, Elisia Gray.”
At this rate, I guess the entire Rogue Force knows she’s the daughter of Alexander and Lily Gray. The tall rogue had shoulder width, black hair paired with equally as black clothing.
His grin widened at Elisia’s snarl. “First and foremost, let me introduce myself. My name is Erebus, but many call me by it’s definition.”
His eyes changed colour, turning black and iridescent. I struggled to not let my surprise show, what the hell?
“They call me Darkness.”
I felt Elisia’s anger and confusion in the mate bond, making me glance at her. To my surprise, she wore an unimpressed and bored expression.
“And who is ‘they’, might I ask?” She questioned, looking amused. Erebus, who clearly didn’t expect her to make fun of him, watched her curiously.
“Everyone I’ve encountered with.” He responded simply.
“Alright that’s great and all, but we have somewhere to go.” She said, still looking bored.
She grabbed the lock of hair that was cut earlier and examined it, her attention completely focused on it. I couldn’t help, but internally laugh at Erebus’ startled and confused expression.
He looked at his fellow team mates with an expression that seemed to say ‘why is she like this?’, who shrugged back at him looking equally as confused.
“We came for Elisia. Either come with us without hassle, or you’ll have to come with us the hard way.” He continued, mostly looking at me. Elisia looked like she couldn’t be bothered to deal with his bullshit.
“That’s not going to happen.” I responded with hostility.
He raised his arm with a sigh, a gesture that made one of the warriors charge towards me. Her speed was on another level compared to the rogue I fought with earlier, she had already made it a couple metres away from me.
Due to her speed, the wind was causing her black hair to fly behind her. She wore a sadistic and bestial expression, once again reminding me that rogues were a different kind of werewolves.
“Time to die!” She screeched, her eyes turning dark.
Elisia was still stroking her uneven hair, trying to style it even though our lives were under threat. She seemed to have no idea that a bloodthirsty rogue was about to attack. I rolled my eyes and prepared to take down this rogue.
The rogue lunged suddenly pulling out a silver knife at the very last minute, causing me to change my tactics suddenly. She swung her weapon fast, I had to dodge right at that second or it will for sure pierce my skin.
Another knife appeared from her other hand, causing me to reel back in surprise and prepare to block. She was unbelievably fast, if only I had been more prepared about the possibility of silver weaponry being used.
At that moment, it seemed like the silver knife will stab me after all. All I could do was retreat, but even then I feel like she’d be able to draw blood.
The sound of a machete viciously cut through the air.
Blood.
I stood still, my eyes wide, taking in the scene in front of me.Blood had splashed onto my face, clothes and the ground. The rogue was also still, her eyes wide too; however not from the shock but from fear. She didn’t want to die…but it was too late. She slowly looked down to find a large silver machete poking out of her chest, where the heart was.
We all looked at Elisia, who was still fixing her hair with one hand. Blood had splashed onto her the most, since she’d been the one to go for the kill.
“You…” The rogue croaked, her gaze trained on Elisia. Everyone’s eyes were on her, how did she move that fast?
I glanced at the weapon she held, that was currently in the rogues’ chest. I don’t recall seeing her picking it up earlier, nor do I remember seeing her bringing it along when we left the car just now.
Silence.
Only the sound of the blood dripping from the rogue’s wound filled the silence. In that moment, Elisia looked up and a cool gust of wind tousled her long, wavy hair. She stood tall, before she mercilessly pulled the machete out the chest with a yell.
Erebus’ eyebrow shot up in surprise and admiration. “What an Alpha indeed…” He muttered.
The harsh jerk had made the rogue gargle on her own blood and collapse to the ground. Elisia brought the sword like weapon up to examine it, it was dripping with the rogue’s blood. She looked up and smiled.
“Who else do I get to use this on?”
One of the rogues, a man, started to growl loudly. Erebus rolled his eyes and said, “Calm down, she’s just a kid.”
“Look at the machete she has in her hand, it belongs to Simon!” He cried out loud, his eyes trained on the weapon. “She killed him!”
“No, I didn’t.” She corrected him calmly.
His chest heaved up and down, as he tried to control his anger. “You liar!”
He stepped forward, all riled up and ready to fight. Erebus, once again, raised a hand which made him stop in his tracks.
“You can’t kill her, Killian wants her alive.” He reminded him. His grin widened as he said, “But that doesn’t mean you can’t harm her.”
The rogue that was suffering, from silver poisoning and bleeding to death, had finally croaked. She had died.
Erebus noticed this and shrugged pitilessly. “One down, I guess.”
I shook my head at him in disgust, he couldn’t care less that his fellow team mate had just died. I stepped forward and said, “I’m tired of ya’ll playing games. Just fight us so we can get this over and done with.”
“Not to mention, I’ve had a really bad day.” Elisia added, finally not fiddling with her uneven hair anymore. “I’m little more sensitive then usual.”
“I don’t give a fuck!” The angry rogue yelled.
“Simon was so easy to take down.” She added absently. “Although he did manage to cut off some of my hair, I’m still annoyed.”
He stepped forward menacingly. “Shut up!”
Her finger trailed the long, sharp edge of the blade, before her striking eyes met his. “If only I could’ve unleashed my annoyance back then, maybe then she’d have a friend to meet in the afterlife.” She said, looking down at the dead rogue.
“How dark…” Erebus commented, his chilling grin widening even more.
It was easy to see that Elisia was purposely trying to rile up this rogue, to make him go against the plan Erebus had. To our relief, it had worked. The rogue couldn’t take it anymore, and charged straight towards her, screaming with vengeance. She smirked and stayed still, not bothering to react. He suddenly changed his course, and charged towards me.
This time I anticipated the weapons.
Without giving him time to react, I attacked first.
I aimed for his neck, wanting to kill instantly. He managed to avoid my advances and kick me in the face, thinking that would make me stagger. I stayed in place, not letting go of the grip I had on his clothes and zeroed in on his unguarded neck.
The rogue’s eyes widened for a split second, realising his mistake.
“No!”
“Time to sleep.” I snarled, before snapping his neck.
I let go off his body, which crumpled to the ground. Erebus’ expression turned darker, I knew it was because that rogue had gone against his orders and not because he lost another team mate.
“He shouldn’t have tried to attack on impulse, he deserved that.” He smirked, leaning against a tree. His creepy eyes narrowed at the other three. “If any of you try to disobey me, I’ll make sure to be the one who kills you.”
To be completely honest, I wasn’t worried about the other three rogues. However, I was curious about Erebus; he didn’t seem like an ordinary rogue. He didn’t look fazed or concerned about losing two fifths of his team, it was like he had immense confidence in his abilities.
“Boy, you both really live up to your reputation.” He said in acknowledgement. “I guess you’ll be surprised to hear that I’ll be leaving you two alone now.”
This time, Elisia and I couldn’t help but visibly reel back in surprise. “What?”
“You could say I have bigger plans to worry about.” He said, smiling with those weird eyes. “I just wanted to see how you fight, that’s all.”
Elisia sighed and said, “Listen Eros, I-“
“It’s Erebus.”
She rolled her eyes. “Okay, Mr Nightmare.”
“It’s Darkness!”
“I don’t care. Look, if you’re retreating, just say it. Say it with your chest, I promise not to laugh.” She said solemnly. Just as she finished that sentence, she giggled.
“Oh, I promise I never had the intention of fighting any of you.” He declared sinisterly, his black hair ruffling in the breeze. “Everything I had intended for to go to plan, actually did.”
I snorted and said, “Don’t lie.”
“I sent two of the weakest to fight you earlier, I convinced them that they’d do great in taking you down. Of course, I didn’t believe that for a second; I used them to buy time.” He explained, watching our apprehensive expressions. “I assume you’ve taken them to interrogate them, too bad they know the least information out the all of us.”
“Once the five of us encountered you, you saw me order Claire to attack. I had a feeling she would die, I chose her because she annoyed me the other day.” He continued, his explanation making me feel sick to the stomach. “It gave me the chance to observe your skills.”
“Johnny has quite a temper, really childish and annoying actually.” He said, his eyes flickering at Johnny’s crumpled body. “I was going to insist that you guys killed Simon, one of the weaker warriors, but you guys did all that yourself.”
Johnny and Simon must’ve been close, seeing Simon’s weapon in Elisia’s hand had sent him over the edge.
“I was glad that he changed his target the very last minute, I had to see Theo kill someone, considering I’d already witnessed Elisia doing it.” He chuckled. “Now you know what I meant when I said, everything went exactly how I planned it. I guess they also call me a genius.””What a weirdo…” Elisia commented, her mouth slightly open as she takes in Erebus.
He frowned at her. “What did you say?”
She didn’t back down. “Oh, I just called you a weirdo.”
And just like that, he disappeared and reappeared…
…right in front of Elisia.
She immediately retreated to create distance, and positioned herself into a defensive stance.
“What the hell is he?” She exclaimed in the mate bond.
“I’m not sure, but he definitely has werewolf in him.” I replied, equally as shocked.
Erebus looked even more creepy up close, the usual white parts of the eye was black. It felt like he was staring straight into your soul, rather then just at you.
“You don’t think The Rogue Force had messed with some voodoo shit, do you?” She asked anxiously.
“No way! Even so, ‘black magic’ has been banned for centuries anyway.” I replied, equally as confused. “Apparently, the last recorded ‘magic’, was when a group of humans and their off-springs’ were cursed – creating half man and half wolf.”
“Exactly my point, what if it’s the same black magic that created were-wolves?”
“I don’t believe in that kind of stuff, I think it’s all bullshit.” I admitted.
“Then how do you think our species came about? I’m really surprised, the curse of moon is a famous theory.” She remarked.
“I don’t know, evolution?”
She snorted in amusement in response.
“You can mind-link each other?” Erebus observed, eyeing us suspiciously.
“Nope, I was just wondering how you got here so fast.” Elisia admitted.
I shrugged and said, “I was calling for backup, I’m not letting you escape from my territory.”
“Backup needed, on the main road to the third town. I’ve encountered rogues, come immediately.” I mind-linked the border warrior forces nearby.
I received an immediate reply. “We’re on our way.”
“You can have those three.” He said, absently waving at the three rogues. They looked startled and betrayed. One by one, they fled the scene in hopes of saving themselves from the horrible fate that was waiting for them.
“As for me, I’ll make it out of here.” He chuckled with confidence. “Unharmed.”
“The man with black clothes and shoulder width, black hair. Do NOT let him escape.” I ordered via the mind-link to the warriors.
“Roger that, Alpha.”
Erebus smirked, giving us one last look before saying, “You don’t mind if I get a head start, do you?”
And just like that, he disappeared.
“Holy donuts.” Elisia mumbled, as she stared at the spot Erebus had just been. “Everything happened in a blur.”
“I’m glad we came out unharmed.” I pointed out.
“We did good, for now.” She agreed, looking up at me with a smile.
“You were amazing, love.” I stated, remembering how badass she looked. I grabbed her and kissed her forehead. I kissed it again, this time travelling down her face and neck. She giggled when I kissed her neck, admitting it was ticklish there.
“Um, Theo?”
I stopped the shower of kisses and stood upright, my heart beating at the heaviness of Julian’s tone.
“Yes?”
“I received news from Kaitlyn and Magnus Steel, they said Jay has fallen into a coma.”
“What?” I yelled through the link.
“They succeeded in stopping the silver being injecting into his bloodstream every three hours, but apparently the engineer made a mistake when trying to get rid of it completely. The entire contents of silver was injected into Jay’s body.”
I couldn’t control my expression, I was horrified that this happened. I mean, I don’t really like the guy but he isn’t a horrible person. Was it bad that I totally forgot about the silver filled box strapped to his neck…?
“What’s wrong?” Elisia asked, bringing her hand up to smooth my frown.
“Give me a second.” I replied hurriedly.
“The entire thing was injected and he didn’t die?” I asked, not believing what I was hearing.
“They bled him out, there and then. Very old school, but it was an emergency.” Julian replied. “It’s a miracle he survived the silver, but he’s in a coma the doctor said an ordinary wolf wouldn’t have survived it, even a beta.”
“Hold on, I need to tell Elisia.” I said reluctantly. I cut the connection link and faced her with a grim expression. This news will break her, she’s very strong but I knew Jay was dear to her.
“That was Julian.” I started to say. Her eyebrows shot up as she said, “Is it about the rogues?”
I shook my head and tried again. “He told me some bad news about Jay.”
Her shoulders slumped as her eyes frantically searched my face for clues. “He’s hurt?”
“The silver in the box was released into the bloodstream all at once. They bled him out as soon as possible, to get rid of the silver material.”
She brought her hand to cover her mouth, looking horrified. “Oh no…”
“He survived it, but he’s currently in a coma.”
She stared at the floor, her lips pouting in effort to stop the tears. “What a shitty day.”

I’m thinking Jay instigated the whole process by telling Kobi to gain information on Theo and Elisia. Unfortunately, he hurt himself in the process.
