SAVE MY MOTHER 18 (True life story)
There are times in life when things might be going as planned but don’t jubilate yet, there is always misfortune waiting to strike.
With the direction I was given, I soon got to the house, I noticed Peter and Michael parked a few yards away, I recognised the car which only means one thing, chief Ademola Okonkwo was inside the house, I became scared immediately.
On getting to the gate, I honked and the gates was opened, I drove into the compound, I was marveled at the edifice, “this is paradise,” I said to myself. there were security personnels every where numbering about 20 all armed to the teeth.
I parked the car and came down to open the door for them, they all came down.
“Since you are all home now, I should get going then,” I said.
“No, you don’t have to be in a hurry, come inside and relax a bit, you can also have dinner with us,” said Annabelle, I got to know their names in the car, one was called Miracle, and the other Charity.
“We can do it some other time,” I said not to look desperate.
“I insist please, let me say thank you properly,” she said.
“Ok then, if you say so, lead the way,” I said.
I walked behind them into the house, when I stepped in, my mouth was left hanging, the house speaks wealth, I had to immediately compose myself to avoid been caught.
“You have a nice place here,” I said.
“Thank you, it’s all my father’s hand work, please take a seat while I go up to change, I will be down shortly,” she said going up leaving me and the girls sitting in the sitting room.
I turned to the girls, starting up a conversation with them, “how was lectures today?”
Charity was on her phone, she has been on her phone since we left the school, “lectures was boring, the lecturer is annoying,” said Miracle.
“I know right, so sorry about that,” I said, then I turned when I heard footsteps coming from the stair case, I turned to see who it was and it was our target, Chief Ademola Okonkwo walking down the stairs.
I got up and greeted him, “good day sir,”
The two girls did same and sat back down but I was still standing.
“And who are you, young man?” He asked, I could feel the authority from his voice.
“Am David sir,” I replied, hiding my name for security reasons.
“And what are you doing here?” He asked.
I was about replying when Annabelle rushed down the stair case, “dad I see you have met David,” she said standing beside him.
“And who is he?” he asked her.
“He saved us today from some hoodlum who attacked us in school, and had to drive us home because I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to ride,” she replied.
“You see why I have always asked you to take a body guard along, from tomorrow two guards will be going with you,” he said getting angry at the daughter.
“But dad…”
“No but, or else I fly you outside to join your siblings,” he said to her then turn to me, “thank you young man.”
“You are welcome sir, now I know she is ok, I will be on my way now,” heading towards the door.
“Here this is my card, come and see me in my office on Monday by 9am,” he said giving me his business card.
“Thank you sir,” I said taking the card.
“And you are always welcomed here, I will tell my security to always let you in anytime you come,” he said.
I thanked him and left, got outside to see John parked some distance away and Peter was also parked on the opposite direction.
I walked up to John and entered the car as we drove off, Peter and Micheal followed behind.
“Guy how did it go?” John asked me
“It went well, my heart is still racing let me calm down,” I replied and we continued the drive.
We got back to the hotel in no time. I explained everything to them and Peter narrated how they followed him round town today, mentioning all the places he visited.
There and then we mapped out our plans to put them into action starting in three days time.
