“Eversince you came into this Imperial,life has been meaningful to me. I love you so much and I know that I can’t live without you.” He smiled brightly.

Everyone was clearly listening to his words as everywhere was silent.

“I know Cassidy Moore that we are to spend the rest of our days together. Anything I have is yours.”

Memories flashed my mind,how everything had happened. Caden and I have come this far. And I never expected these things I have experienced here to ever happen to me! Destiny really did a great job!

“I want you Cassidy to be the mother of my children…”

Another round of gasps filled the room. I can’t believe Caden went out of his way to propose to me.

My hands moved up to whip away the tears as he pulled forth a small red box from his pocket. My jaw dropped completely when he opened it,a ring displayed in it. The ring was totally different from the first engagement ring which I had rejected. It was a thin platinum ring with diamond surrounded by sapphires. The ring was gorgeous, completely perfect!

I didn’t want to imagine how much Caden must have spent just to get this ring.

“Will you marry me Cassidy Moore?”

“Do I have any other choice?” I managed to say amidst tears.

“I’ll give you a chance to make your choice.” He responded.

Slowly I looked at the people around us. My gaze fell on my mom who had the biggest smile on her face but I could see the tears at the corners of her eyes. I knew this was the life I wanted – to love and be loved in return. To be with the man who cares about me. To live forever with a man nearly perfect like Caden Wright.

Then with one simple word I sealed my fate. “YES!”

Shouts of joy echoed in the Hall followed by clapping!

“I’ll marry you..Caden.”

He slipped the ring into my finger and in a swift movement his hands were on my waist, lips met mine as he swirled me.

“Thank you..I love you Abeja.” He stopped to trail kisses all over my face. “I promise to always make you happy!”

My hands went around his neck. “I love you too..and I’m sorry if I kept you waiting for too long.”

“No..no..it was worth the wait. I wouldn’t forgive myself if I had rushed things with you.” He said with a look of endearment and love.

“Sorry to disturb your sweet moment.” I heard my mom’s voice.

I loosened my hold upon his neck and turned to look at her.

“Congratulations my dear Cassidy.”

“Thanks Mom.”

“Hannah, thanks for everything.” Caden said.

“Wait..you know about this proposal?” I asked.

“Yes..my dear.” She nodded.

“How come I didn’t suspect it?”

“You didn’t have to know. Hannah helped me pick the ring and her consent was needed too since she’s your mother.” Caden said.

“Okay.. okay..You really got me. I wasn’t expecting it tonight.”

“Well.. I’m glad you said Yes.” He kissed me.

“I’ll leave you ladies alone while I sort out some things.” He walked away.

“You don’t know how happy I am to see you engaged to someone you love.” She squeezed my hand gently.

“I am happy…my man loves me truly.”

“I wish you all the best in this marital journey.”

“You’re leaving…” I mumbled in a sad tone.

“Don’t give me this look,today is your happy day.”

I nodded. “But you’re -“

She interrupted me. “I won’t be gone forever.”

“I need you now more than ever.”

“Yes..yes..but I also have to help Alphas to construct the Home for Humans.”

“You’ll be gone for a long time…”

“No.. I’ll be back before you know it.” She embraced me.
“Once the work is done, I’ll come back for you.”

Just like how she had promised me decades ago.

“That’s not going to happen.” I pulled away from her.

“What are you saying?”

“You’ll still need to be with your family at your pack.”

“I’ll definitely make out time to come see you.” She reached out to wipe my tears.

I shook my head. “Okay..okay..”

“I just want you to be happy with the Emperor.”

“When are you leaving?”

“Tomorrow morning..” she replied.

“Will I get to see you before leaving?”

“I’m not sure Cassidy. We’re leaving at dawn.”

“I’m gonna miss you.” I hugged her again.

“I have something for you.” She stepped backward and removed her necklace.

“I want you to have it..” she placed it on my neck. “Always remember that I love you Cassidy.”

“I love you too momma.” We embraced each other again.

To be honest,I didn’t want her to leave. I just wish she could stay a bit longer or maybe forever. But that’s impossible! She has to fulfil her duties at her pack and also be with her family.

I came back to the suites without Caden. He was busy having a discussion with some Alphas and men in High Council when I left the hall. I was too tired to wait for him.

I kicked off my shoes and went to sit in front of the mirror,all of Caden’s words replaying in my head. Never did I think I would hear that. I took off the jewelry,leaving the ring on. It fitted my finger as if I had tried it on when Caden wanted to get it.

Oh my God! I’ve lived on my own and had no one to love because I knew I would always be alone. Lucky for me things changed. Now I have found a place that welcomes me and a man who wants and loves me.

I slide under the bedcovers after taking a hot shower. Caden wasn’t back but I would wait for him. I didn’t get to tell him how I feel about him. I kept admiring the ring until I felt my eyes closing and I couldn’t beat nature. So I ended up drifting off to sleep.

I couldn’t tell the time when I lazily hopped out of bed to pee in the bathroom. Was Caden back from the feast? I pondered as I did my thing in the bathroom before heading back to the room.

I heard a light snore as I rubbed my sleepy eyes. Caden? It was coming from the Emperor. Caden was asleep. I got into bed,turned my head to look at him in the dark as he lay there completely defenseless. The mighty Emperor who had a whole Imperial in his hands with countless enemies sleeps like a newborn baby.

I scoot closer,my head inches from him as I scan his face in the dark. Even in the dark,Caden was drool-worthy. I could stay up all night watching his beautiful face. My fingers felt the ring,the sign of a ‘Promise of Forever.’ To be honest,it scares me yet excites me, knowing that I would be spending the rest of my life with Caden.

Months ago I would have said NO to spending forever with a cruel Emperor or I would only get married after few months or a year of being in a relationship with the man of my dreams. But now here I am,engaged to a man I’ve known for about three months.

I sighed as I wrapped an arm around his torso, pulling my body closer as I rest my head on his chest. My head fell and rises with his breathing. I felt safe lying in the same bed with him.

“Caden,I really have a lot to say to you but words seems to fail me. I love you very much,I didn’t expect it or even recognize it but -” I paused as tears splashed down my cheeks.

“I know that…I cannot live with you.” I whispered. Silence.

“I still feel bad for keeping you waiting..this long..but now that everything is in place..I want all of you.” I wipe away my tears.

“I love you,Caden Wright.” I placed kisses on his bare chest before resting my head back on it.

Suddenly,I was flipped over,a pair of lips on mine as I welcome them happily. His warmth spread through me as I wrap my arms around him. I opened my eyes when Caden pulled back.

“I heard everything.” He said with a smile.

“I..I..I..meant every word I said…”

“I know..I know..” he lays down upon me,barely any weight on me. His head rested in the crook of my neck,I ran my fingers through your his hair happily as we welcome silence.

I bet Caden wants something else and hell I want it too! But I know Caden won’t ask for it until I say it.

“Caden?” I called out in a rasp.

He hummed a response. “Make me a woman.” I blurted out.

Oh! I know those lines sounds old fashioned! I should have said – Let’s have sex!

Caden stared down at me. “You want us to make love?” He asked. That’s another line.

I shook my head. “I want you.” My heartbeat rapidly as our gaze locked.

He sighed. “You don’t need to do this if you aren’t ready.”

I rolled my eyes,pulled him down and kissed him. A moan escaped his lips as I can feel a smile against my lips too. His hands fell on my hips, lifting me. My legs wrapped around his waist,hands still around his neck as we kissed passionately.

He trailed kisses from my lips to the sensitive spot behind my ear down to my shoulder and ever so slowly and purposefully back up again to my lips.

I moaned in pleasure,panting as his lips and teeth gently teased my earlobe.

“Cassidy,I am going to make you mine tonight.” He murmured huskily.

I shuddered with intensed pleasure as he reached out to untie my nightgown. I lifted slightly and leaned forward so that he could slid it down my body. I was left with just my panties and I realized that I have never been completely naked with Caden.

It was morning after a long and interesting night of love making with the Emperor. I was too tired to even move a muscle.

“You’re awake?” Caden purred into my ear.

“Yes…” I mumbled.

My head fell back on the pillow after Caden moved my resting head from his chest just too look into my eyes.

“How are you feeling?” I flinched when he kissed the sensitive spot where he had marked me. It was as if I could feel Caden in my whole system. Maybe that was the effect of the marking.

“Does it hurt too much?” He asked with a concerned look.

“Just a slight pain but not unbearable.” I replied.

“I will call Cora to check if she has something to relief the pain.”

I shook my head. “The wound has to heal itself right?”

“Yes,it would fade after a few days but the mark will remain there.”

“Okay.” I sighed.

“How about you take a shower while I prepare something for us.”

“Sounds good..but what about Kira? Is she here?”

“She was here at 7 but I asked her to leave.”

My forehead creased in confusion. “She was here at 7…so what’s the time?” I asked.

He said, “Past noon…” My gaze flickered to the wall clock. The time was 12:50pm.

“Why didn’t you wake me before now?”

“I didn’t want to disturb you after..the long night of love-making. You must be really tired.” He smirked

A fierce blush flamed my cheeks as I avoided making an eye contact with Caden.

He pulled my hand,heading it towards the centre of his chest.

“Do you feel that?” He asked, allowing me feel the beating of his heart.

“Yes I can feel your heart beat.”

“Soon our hearts will become one.” He smiled.

I nodded knowing what Caden was talking about. It was romantic and true at the same time.

“Abeja..” he kissed my hand. “I hope you don’t mind us getting married in few weeks time?” He asked with a serious face but it seems Caden was scared I wouldn’t want to marry him even after giving me the ring.

I sat up on the bed,our faces just few inches apart. “Caden,look at this -” I showed him the ring on my finger.

“It’s beautiful right?” He asked.

I nodded Yes. “And the moment I said yes to you,I knew that I’d be spending the rest of my life with you.”

A bright smile grazed his face. “And I enjoyed every bit of what we shared last night.” I cupped his face on my small hands.

“Listen…to me few weeks is really a long time. I don’t mind getting married to you tomorrow just to complete our bond.” I said and we ended up laughing.

Once two individuals are bond together as mates through the mating process, their hearts literally becomes one. Once the mate bond has been created,it cannot be broken except one of them dies.

“How about in two weeks time so you can prepare for the day?”

“Anytime is fine with me as long as my mom gets to attend the ceremony.”

“I’m sure she wouldn’t want to miss our wedding.” He tucked strands of hair behind my ear.

“Well…she might be busy working with her construction team.” I shrugged.

“No, Hannah would definitely make out time.” He tried to kiss my lips but I pulled away from him.

I haven’t brushed my teeth. “Okay… I’ll just go ahead and take a bathe.”

I got out of bed and motioned towards the bathroom only to feel soreness between my legs, causing me to slow down a bit to allow my body time to accommodate. Soon I felt arms wrapped around me.

“I’m coming with you to take a shower.” He whispered as he bite my earlobe.

My heartskip a beat as I could feel his bulge behind me.

“Sounds good…” I turned to face him. “But -“

He placed his lips on mine before I could protest. I let my arms move around his neck and I welcomed him happily. A moan escaped my lips as I can feel a smile against Caden’s lips. His hands gripped my waist,lifting me up. I groaned in pain when my legs went around his waist.

He pulled away to look at me. “Are you in pain?” He eyed me suspiciously.

“No…” I kissed him again before he could say his next word.

Even though I felt sore in between my legs, I really don’t mind making love with Caden over and over again because I felt completely loved and satisfied.

Dead bodies lay on the ground, men fighting against each other, warriors trying to protect their lives. I saw a man with a black mask on, running towards Caden as he fought for his freedom against two mighty warriors. The man was heading to stab Caden from behind.

“No! Caden!” I screamed. But it was too late,the man drove the sword into Caden’s body. I couldn’t stop him.

I felt my heart break into pieces as I watched Caden fall to the ground.

“No! Please don’t kill him!” I pleaded when he drew out the sword and stab Caden again.

I couldn’t move away from my spot to save him. And right in my eyes,the man on mask beheaded Caden then I screamed in agony.

“No! Caden!!!”

I felt someone shaking me up as I screamed to reality,fear gripping my whole body. I was shaking the entire time because of the terrible nightmare.

It has been over a month since I got married to Caden Wright. The Emperor had wanted to throw a party at the Grandhall which I had found really odd. I desired a private little ceremony in a garden but getting married to an Emperor made it Impossible. We ended up using the Grandhall and Garden because we had too many guests at the wedding. My mom also attended the ceremony and I got to meet her husband and my step siblings too.

There was an exchange of vows and a blood transaction. At first when I heard blood transaction I thought I would become a vampire right away! But I didn’t have to turn into a vampire. Caden just bite me to draw out blood from my wrist while he had slashed his palm with a knife and let his blood drop into a cup which I drank from it. And the Royal Shaman comsumated our bond. Life with Caden has been filled with love and I was completely satisfied. And everything was fine with the Imperial.

Caden gathered me into his arms, cradling me to his chest. “Shhshsh now..I am with you.” He mumbled,still firmly in his grasp and spoke soothing words to me.

“I had a..nightmare…it was a terrible one.” I whispered shakily.

“You can tell me..”

I closed my eyes. “Something dark..like a war…and someone killed you..at the battle ground..and I couldn’t save you.” I tried to pull away but he didn’t let me go.

“It’s alright. It’s just a nightmare.”

“No! It’s not just a nightmare. It felt so real.”

I needed some distance inorder to explain things to him. A part of me hoped Caden would understand me. My heart was breaking.

A tear fell from my eye as I whispered brokenly. “It’s no joke, Caden.”

“There won’t be any war..and no one is going to kill me.” He said.

“I won’t lie to you…all my nightmares always come true!”

I remembered in high school when I had dreamt that a girl in my class would die but I couldn’t tell her because I never really paid attention to it. I felt guilty when our teacher announced that the girl in question died in fatal car accident a week after I had dreamt about it. I blamed myself for not at least telling Mother Theresa about my nightmare. I can go on and on telling you about the dreams I have had in the past.

Caden took my hands. “Abeja,nothing is going to happen to me.” He added.

He doesn’t understand me. Tears flowed freely from my eyes as he wrapped his arms around me in an unbreakable hold as he whispered in soft soothing tone, assuring everything would be okay.

I pulled back to look at him. “I don’t want to lose you. Caden I can’t live without you.”

He smiled radiantly and replied. “I will always be by your side,Abeja.”

“But..there must be something we can do -“

Caden cut me off my intended statement. “It’s okay, my love. ” He kissed my cheeks and continued to whisper soothing words to me.

All of a sudden,I felt exhausted,the emotional truama from the nightmare caught up with me. I yawned loudly.

“You need to sleep,Abeja.”

He pulled me closer to his chest as we both lay back on the bed.

Caden wasn’t in bed when I woke up. I rushed into the bathroom to take a quick bathe. I met Kira holding a tray filled with food when I came out of the bathroom.

“My Empress,breakfast is ready!”

“Kira,I don’t have time to eat.” I rushed into the closet to grab some clothes. I opted into a pair of jeans and black top.

“My Empress..you look so worried. Is everything okay?” She asked in a concerned tone.

“Kira..I need to see the Royal Shaman.”

I have thought about it,the Royal Shaman might be of help. If Caden wasn’t ready to do anything about the nightmare, I wouldn’t sit back and do nothing. The Royal Shaman must be able to stop the nightmare from coming to pass.

“My Empress,why do you want to see the Royal Shaman?” She asked.

“I had a nightmare last night.” I narrated the nightmare to her and how some of them often come to pass.

“This is a terrible one!” She gasped out.

“Caden doesn’t even believe me after I tried to explain that all my nightmares always come true. It’s like he doesn’t care!”

“We really need to see the Royal Shaman!”

“I keep having this feeling that something bad is about to happen…not only to Caden but the whole Imperial.”

“Oh no..not now that everything is going smoothly.” Kira took my hands. “Relax…you have to calm down. We’ll go and see the Royal Shaman and keep praying nothing bad happens to the Emperor or the Imperial.”

I shook my head. “Let’s go..”

“No..no..you have to eat something before seeing the Royal Shaman.” She sat me down in front of the mirror.

“Eat up..my Empress.” She smiled.

I only managed to eat little from the beacon and egg Kira served before we made our way to the Royal Court of Shamans.

“Your highness.” Shaman Amelia bowed to me.

“Good Morning Amy.” I greeted.

“What brings you to my court, Empress?” She asked with a bright smile.

“I need your help Amelia.”

“How may I help you?” She asked.

I explained the whole situation to her.

“My Empress,this isn’t just a nightmare.” She said.

“So..what is it?” I asked.

She closed her eyes. “From what you told me,Empress,you have a second sight ability.”

“What does that means?” I asked with a raised eyebrow

“The ability to see things that will happen in the future.” She reopened her eyes.

“Are you trying to say that..what I saw is going to happen in the future?”

Yeah,I know all my nightmares always happens but oh God not this one!

She nodded Yes. “Is there something we can do to stop this from happening?” I asked. Amelia was silent.

“Talk to me,Amelia!” I snapped at her.

She shook her head. “I don’t know..”

“What do you mean by you don’t know?! Are you saying there’s nothing we can do to stop it?! And that Caden would have to die?!”

“No,that’s not what am saying.”

“So what?!”

“I’ll talk to the Emperor about it.”

“What?! He doesn’t even care about the nightmare! I need you to talk to me. Tell me what we can do to stop the nightmare from coming to pass!”

“We cannot stop whatever is going to happen in the future.” She said politely.

I shook my head, feeling disappointed about Amelia’s response. I stormed out of the court. Amelia is hiding something from me. Why did she choose to talk to Caden instead of me who came to have the discussion with her?! Something wasn’t right!

“My Empress! Empress!” Kira followed me but I didn’t stop to talk to her. I was angry.

My mind wasn’t at peace,it was as if the meeting with Amelia made things worst for me. I couldn’t think of what to do to stop whatever was about to happen. But I kept on praying silently to God to help me. What would happen to this Imperial if Caden dies?! Oh no! I don’t want Caden to die! I don’t even want to think about it. Oh my God please help me!

I stopped pacing when the door opened. “Caden?” I rushed to him for a tight hug.

“Why do you worry yourself too much about this nightmere?” He asked.

I pulled away to look at him. “You went to the shamans court.” He said.

“Yes..I did..”

“Why?” He asked with a serious face.

“I..I..was..”

“You didn’t have to see the shaman all because of a stupid nightmare.” He blurted out.

I was heartbroken by his words. “Oh really?! Stupid nightmare?! You think this is stupid?!”

“Abeja -“

I avoided his touch when he reached out for me. “You just don’t understand it! And I can’t believe you just called a big thing like this stupid!” I slammed my fist in his chest.

“I have been sick and worried about you! What would happen to this Imperial if anything bad happens to you?! So many questions in my head!” I shouted. I was angry at Caden for his words.

“Calm down Abeja…”

“Don’t you fucking tell me to calm down! I am so disappointed in you!” I snapped at him before storming off into the bedroom.

“Abeja! Abeja! Abeja!” He followed me.

I slide under the bedcovers and threw a pillow over my head as tears dropped from my eyes.

Didn’t Amelia tell him that the nightmare was bound to happen. Maybe not now but definitely in the future.

“Abeja?” He whispered. I didn’t give him a response.

I grabbed the pillow when he reached for it.

“Abeja..let’s talk things out.”

“I want to be alone.” I sniffed.

“No..no..please don’t cry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

“Well..you already did. And I don’t wanna talk to you.” I pulled the bed sheet over my head.

“Abeja..please..don’t act this way.” He mumbled in remorse. No response came from me.

“I am really sorry. Please forgive me.” He apologized sincerely.

Caden pulled the bedcover and cuddled closer to me.

“Listen,I already spoke to Amelia and she said the only thing we can do is try to avoid any trouble that might lead to war.” He said. No response.

“Please talk to me Abeja..you silence really bothers me. Listen, I admit it was wrong of me to call the nightmare stupid..please forgive me.”

More tears splashed down my face as I turned to face him after some seconds of silence.

“I am sorry..” he kissed my forehead.

“You know..I love you.” I said.

“Yes..yes..and I love you more,Abeja.”

“Please don’t ever leave me. Caden..don’t be apart from me. I can’t live without you.” I sobbed.

The mere thought of not seeing Caden makes me sad. I was so used to having him in my life now that I can’t possibly do without him.

“It’s okay,my love. I’ll always be by your side.” He snuggled me closer to his chest.
