BORN FROM MADNESS FINAL PART 4💢 – Missing Pen
When I closed the door and looked around, I noticed that the room was owned by someone. Because I could see the clothes and accessories of the person and it was a female belongings . When I looked at the cupboard beside the bed, I saw two pictures ……
One the first photograph, I saw a picture my mother gave to me when I was six. I kept the picture because I felt it was picture of me when I was a child.
On the second photograph was a picture of a baby girl. I became totally confused as to why my infanthood picture was in my boss’s house alongside a female baby.
I immediately called miss Mary on the phone to inform her of my current situation with my boss and she promised to take the first bus, leaving port Harcourt to Lagos the next morning.
I stayed in the room for hours before I heard a knock followed by the door opening. It happened to be Evelyn who found my location and came to serve me food secretly.
We both sat down together encouraging ourselves when the thought of showing her the picture popped up in my head. I first showed her the female child picture.
“Do you know this child? “
“Ooh that’s me when I was a baby. Where did you find that?”
“I found it in this room alongside this one”
Then I brought out the picture of me as an infant.
“Who is this?” She asked surprised and snatched the photograph from my hand .
“It’s the picture of me as an infant. My mom gave a copy like this to me when I turned 6”
“Even me too! I have this same copy. My mom gave it to me. Wait I think I feel something.”
She quickly opened the frame and found another picture of a lady holding two children.
“Who is this woman and why is she holding me as a baby alongside with you?.” She frankly asked with a bit surprise.
“Ooh wait! No way! that’s my mom!” I exclaimed with joy and shock.
“Do you still have that picture of miss Mary Waring the uniform of the chief chef with you?”
“Ooh yeah but it’s in my room.” I replied her
After so many thoughts, we both prayed not to be siblings and also we kept all our discoveries waiting for miss Mary to come.
It was in the evening the next day, Evelyn came to my room to inform me that miss Mary has arrived. And the whole family with my mom is seeking for my presence.
I shyly walked out of my hide out feeling ashamed of myself but as soon as I saw my mother who was now mentally healthy. Joy sprout out of my bonny face.
I immediately submitted our discoveries and asked no one in particular to explain to me .
Miss Mary took the front sit and began by saying;
“It all started when my younger sister graduated from the University. As of then, I was working as a chief cook for my madam your mother. My sister Judith came over to stay with me for a while before going for her youth service. Unfortunately on her stay she began listing for my boss, Richard and Evelyn’s father. She then went to the extreme of charming my boss and caused his wife to engage in a fatal accident, which could have taken her life but instead it got her mental illness. Ever since then my sister prostrated as my boss’s wife with the aid of the charm. She wanted to chase the two children with the mother but I threatened her to keep Mary because she was a female and wouldn’t be able to survive. And as for Henry, he is the child of the gate man ‘jude’. Please I beg y’all to forgive me.” She said admist tears and fell to her knees.
Every one was frustrated at the damage done by miss Judith. My father didn’t spare her. She was arrested and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for multiple charges.
Miss Mary was greatly rewarded. Henry continued to leave with us as a brother just as I promised. Every thing came to normal but the only thing we all were forced to leave with, is the fact that I was now fathering the child of my twin sister Evelyn.
