Daniel’s chivalry sparked a friendship between him and Paulina, he learned about her background, she was an orphan, whose parents died while she was just an infant.
Daniel grew fond of his new prey, to the extent of visiting her on a daily basis, with massive gifts.
whenever he was less busy, even through it was quite a great distance away from her house to his hostel.
Paulina’s neighbors glare at daniel from their hut, whenever he pays her a visit.
Almost as if their facial expressions were indicating a red flag, but their stares never bothered Daniel.
They weren’t surprised because he isn’t from their village, so he won’t know Paulina’s background.
Daniel wasn’t the only guy paulina had encounter, different men would come from miles around just to ask her out on a date, extending to the neighboring villagers.
As word of her good looks spread around the area, more and more boys would cluster around her doorstep.
Rehearsing their love for her and also her hand in marriage.
However, the problem was that none of the young men lasted more than one date with her.
Before the night was over, they were always seen running away, screaming in terror. None of them would ever talk about what had happened and all refused to meet her again.
Rumors began to spread around the village. People said there must be something wrong with the beautiful girl.
Some people wondered if she had a horrible personality.
Others were of the opinion that she had some kind of hideous deformity that was driving away all the boys.
The villagers couldn’t put the piece of the puzzle together, why so many young men were afraid of her.
Overtime the relationship between Daniel and the village girl “Paulina” blossom.
Their friendship became so rigid, that even the villagers wondered how could a boy from Lagos get so attached to a girl the men of the villagers left without taking a second glance at.
