This is a bullet scar mia! What have you been hiding from me.” He yelled so loud that i stepped back in fear.

“I..i ” I stammered in a shivery voice.
His look was cold and hard.
My stomach heightened to the brim with fear and i almost cursed myself for being so afraid.

“Mia, you were shot?” He asked.
“When i was little” I lied and he sighed in what seems like relief.
He looked at it again and shook his head.
“This looks fresh, just like you were shot recently. Tell me,what are you hiding from me?” He asked.

Come up with something Mia!
Come up with something!

“This is looking fresh cause i just finished freshening up! Why the hell would you accuse me of hiding something from you” I yelled and stormed out of the kitchen.
I hurried to the stairs and started climbing it to my room, breathing heavily.

“Mia” He called after me .
“Believe it or not, i don’t care” I said turning back sharply.
I missed a step in the process.

My eyes widened and i went numb while tumbling down the stairs.
Darrel’s screams echoed in my ears before i heard his loud footsteps.

I stopped tumbling when i got to the edge of the stairs, my breathing came out slow and it was like my mind and soul shut down.
I couldn’t move.

“Mia!” Darrel screamed appearing in front of me.
The tears in his eyes hit me hardly.
“I’m sorry” He cried.

My eyes went blur and i couldn’t see him clearly or hear whatever he was saying.
I only felt myself being lifted.

I paced the hospital reception with Nath by my side.

All i can say is,I’m going crazy at the moment.
Mia is in there with no assurance of surviving the fall.

I caused it!

Why didn’t i believed her.
I pestered her until she tumbled on the stairs.
Why am i always so inquisitive!

“Agent D. What actually went wrong?” Nath asked worriedly.
“I’m not in the mood to answer that” I snapped at him and sat down on a chair.
I bent my head wallowing in regret.

Will she forgive me?
Even if she does,i will never forgive myself.

“Agent D. Doc martins is here” I heard Nath said.
I raised up my head and sprang to my feet.
He’s the one who treats me whenever i get wounded and since then we’ve become close.

“How’s she?” I asked .
“Calm down Mr Darrel, we tried our best and thankfully she’s fine now,she’s in the ICU but will soon be transferred to the ward” He said and the huge burden in my heart lifted immediately.
“Thank you Lord” I screamed happily.
“Yes! She is a survivor” Nath danced and i tried not to laugh but doc Mart couldn’t restrain his laughter.

“She did not sustain any injury,she only passed out due to shock” He said and i sighed.

“Can we go see her?” I asked.
“No!” He said.
“Why?” I almost whined.
“Like i said earlier,she’s still in the intensive care unit, she’ll be transferred to the ward soon and once she’s in the ward,no one is allowed to disturb her till tomorrow. Her brain needs lot of rest. You can go home and come back tomorrow” He said.

I sighed sadly, i won’t be seeing her tonight.

“I’ll stay with her overnight. Nath you can leave” I said.
“No! I need to be with Mia too” Nath said.
“Please” He added.

“Where are you two gonna sleep?” Doc Mart asked.
“The ward” I said.
“No,you can’t stay in the ward with her,she needs full rest without disturbance”
“We’ll stay In the reception then” I said and Nath nodded.

“You can go home Nath” I said.
“Nah! I’m gonna stay” He said.

“You mean you’ll both sleep in the reception?” Doc Mart asked and we nodded.
He sighed ” You can both sleep in her ward then”
“Thanks” We smiled.
“But..” He said.
“What?” He asked.
“No disturbance” He said.
“Of course,I’ll make sure we don’t make a sound” I said.

“Fine then,you can sit here. You’ll be informed if she has been wheeled into the ward” He said.
“Okay doc. Thanks so much” I said and he nodded before walking away.

“Hey” A nurse smiled at me.
“Hi” I said and quickly turned to Nath.
I don’t want her to start any conversation with me.

“She’s hitting on you,hit back” Nath smiled sheepishly and i sent him a hard glare before going to sit.

I’m glad Mia is okay.

Nath sat beside me and rubbed his palms together.
“You’re getting all the attention in here” He said.
“Yeah and i freaking hate it” I said, people stare at me like I’m some sort of god.
“Just choose any lady and they’ll come running to your feet” Nath said.
“Urghh!” I groaned.

Nath stomach rumbled and i glanced at him.

“Huh?” I asked.
“I’m starving” He said.

“Everything about hospital smells and taste the same way” Nath said, biting into his burger.
We were seated in the hospital cafeteria having our late dinner.

I only ordered for coffee,to keep me awake all night.

“What really happened to Mia?” Nath asked.
“I told you she tumbled down the stairs” I said.
“Why?” He asked.
“She missed a step on the stairs.” I said.
“Were you both having an argument?” He asked.

I sighed “Yeah”

He nodded and turned back to his dinner while i gulped the rest of my coffee.

Nath and i walked into the ward after doc Mart ordered us to.

I had to restrain the urge to run to her and hug her tightly on the bed.
Her eyes were closed and her skin was looking pale and fragile.

“Oh..my” Nath said and wanted to walk to her but i held him back.
“Remember what doc Mart said” I said.
“Oh” He nodded.

I dozed as i held her hand in mine.

Arrrgh!

I guess the coffee wasn’t strong enough.
I want to be up all night to keep an eye on Mia.

I glanced over at Nath who was deeply asleep with his mouth slightly opened.
He actually boasted about being up all night too.
I sighed and turned my gaze back to Mia.

She hasn’t made any slightest movement and I was starting to get afraid.
Her breathing is coming out fine though.

I wish she can just open those eyes..
I missed them seriously.
And her lips,why are they looking so dry that i want to kiss her badly.

I cleared the strands on hair on her forehead with my finger and felt her temperature.

Cool.

“I’m sorry Mia” I said, tightening my hold on her hand.

I placed my head beside hers and closed my eyes.
I can’t resist the sleep anymore.

?️Next morning?️

I woke up to some sounds and chatters.
I opened my eyes and realised i was still in the ward.

It’s morning already and the hospital workers already got to work.

Mia is still asleep and i glanced at our intertwined hands.

I need to go call Doc Mart, she should open her eyes already.
I heard a loud yawn and realized Nath was in the ward too.

Geez!
He’s going back to sleep.

“Nath” I called but he turned to the other side to get more sleep.

Arrrgh!

I should yell him name but that might startle Mia.
I slowly released her hand and got up from the chair.

“Ahh” I groaned in pain.
My back hurt terribly,I’ve never slept in this position.

I stretched and felt a bit better…
I need to go freshen up and also get some clothes for Mia but I’ll go see Doc Mart first.

I kissed her soft cheeks and couldn’t help but stare at her as i made my way out of the ward.

I sighed in satisfaction as i draped my towel around my waist.
I just finished having a soothing shower and it cooled my nerves.

I walked into my room,dried my body and got into the clothes i laid on the bed.
I dried my hair and brushed it backwards.

I selected blue footwear and slide my feet into it.
I’ll just make toastbread for breakfast.
She loves it.

I walked out of my room,climbed down the stairs and headed to the kitchen.

I washed the dishes after i was done packing Mia’s breakfast.
I wiped my hands off a napkin and headed out of the kitchen.

I hurried to Mia’s room. I need to take some clothes for her.
That hospital wear makes her look … Urghh!

I opened the door to her room and stepped in.
I walked to the wardrobe and pulled it open.

Mia has few clothes.
She doesn’t like dressing up like other girls yet her beauty strikes one to the bone.

Doc Mart informed me of some crazy male doctors offering to be the one in charge of Mia’s treatment! And it had took all the strength in me not to barge into their offices and beat the hell out of them one after the other.

I should be quick and return there.

I selected a pink t-shirt and black pants.
I folded it neatly and placed it in an empty paper bag.
I closed the wardrobe and was about walking out of her room when i thought of her undies.

Ahh!

I turned back and glanced at the drawers.
It should be in one of them.

I started pulling it open till i got to the last two.
They were locked.

Ohh!
Why did she have to lock them?

I rolled my eyes around the drawers, dressing table, chair.
The key should be near..

I searched and searched for minutes.
I was about giving up when i sighted the key just behind her body lotion on the dressing table .

I smiled and picked it up.

I bent and inserted the key into the lock.
I pulled the drawer open and my mouth also fell open at the same time.

I laughed, throwing back my head.
I could remember the first day she resumed and while i was searching her luggage, i had this panties in my hand thinking it was some sort of tiny hair pack.

I laughed again and stared at it..
Well…I’m gonna pick it for her.

I threw it into the paper bag and also picked a bra.
She has nice set of undies though,so neat and fine.

I closed her drawer and got up..
I picked the paper bag and and walked out of her room..

I got to the hospital and walked to doctor Mart’s office.

“Wow! Are those for me?” He asked as i entered his office.
I smiled..”No! They are for Mia,her clothes and breakfast” I said.
“Ohh.. fine, she’s your girl right?” He asked.
“No,she’s not. She’s my housekeeper” I said.
“Really?” He asked and i nodded.
“Wow! I didn’t bother asking yesterday cause i thought she was your girl,i don’t know what prompted me to ask now” He said.

“So how’s she now?” I asked.
“She’s awake and I’ve placed her on IV fluid” He said.
“Okay, thanks” I smiled.
“Can you help me with something?” I asked.
“What?” He asked.
“There’s a scar on her arm and i want you to help me identify what sort of scar it is and how long it has been there” I said.

Mia might be threatened not to tell me anything.
I’m gonna figure it out myself and deal with the person behind this.

“Ohh… I’ll help you with that” He said.
“Thanks doc” I smiled.
“You should go see her now” He said and i nodded before walking out of his office.

‘I’m glad she is awake but how am i gonna face her?’ I pondered as i walked to her ward.
I sighed as i got to the door, i hesitated for a while and was about to push it open when it opened itself.

An ugly male doctor stepped out, smiling like someone who has achieved his aim.
I sent him a hard glare and felt like strangling him with the stethoscope on his neck.

He just went to hit on Mia!

“What?” He asked.
“Why the hell are you in there in the first place” I half yelled.
“I went to attend to my patient,why are you so worked up about that?” He asked.
“She’s not your patient,she’s sighed under doctor Mart okay? Stay away from her with whatever motive you have in mind or you’re gonna regret it” I threatened seriously.

He scoffed and walked away, glancing back at me till he cornered the hallway.

I peeped into the open door and saw her seated on the bed with Nath.

She’s looking frail and weak,i feel like pulling her into her arm and protecting her till death.

I pushed the door widely open and that alerted them of my presence.
I walked in and holding my with Mia’s.

Gosh!
I missed those eyes.

She removed her gaze from me quickly and then i knew she’s pissed at me.

“Agent D. ” Nath smiled.
“Mia” I called and walked to her.
She didn’t respond,she massaged her feet instead.
“I’m sorry” I said.

No response!

“Mia,I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you to fall down the stairs. Please” I said.

Same thing!

I sighed and dropped the things in my hand.

“How’re you feeling now?” I asked and she turned to Nath instead.
“Thank you for being with me all night” She said to him and he laughed.
“You should rather say ‘thank you for sleeping in the same ward with me’ You should thank Agent D. instead, he took just coffee as dinner yesternight so he could be awake and watch over you . He woke up severally at midnight and didn’t even get enough sleep. He was the first to be awake this morning and look he already brought you some clothes and breakfast. Even if he caused the accident,you should forgive him already” Nath said, surprising me.

I glanced at Mia and noticed she had her head bowed.
No one spoke for a while.

“I’ll be going home to freshen up, will be back soon” Nath said and stood up.
“Thanks Nath” Mia said.
He nodded and winked at me before walking out of the door and once the door closed behind him.
Everywhere fell silent again.

I don’t know what to say or do,i guess i should keep apologising.

“I’m sorry” we both said at the same time.
It sounded funny and i tried not to laugh.
She still has her head bowed though,i noticed her shoulders were shaking.

She’s crying!

“Mia,I’m sor…” I was saying only to hear the sound of her laughter.
She raised up her head and I realised she was trying to stifle her laughter.

She was not crying!
She’s laughing hard now!

I also bursted into laughter, i held her hand and we both laughed hard.

“Darrel,I’m sorry” She said after our laughter subsided.
“No,I’m the one to apologise” I said.
“I’m sorry for getting pissed at you when all you did was watch over me” She said.
“I’m sorry for making you fall”
“You didn’t make me fall, i missed my step” She said.
“It was because of me” I said and she sighed.

“You know what?” She asked using her free hand to adjust her hair.
“What?” I asked, trying to stop my heart from swaying by her beauty.
“I wasn’t pissed at you for making me fall, i was pissed at you for not… believing what i said”

“Ohh…it was hard to believe Mia, that scar,i don’t think I’ve ever seen it on your arm and also you said its from childhood,it doesn’t look like one from childhood but i believe whatever you say cause i don’t see a reason you should lie to me” I said and she smiled..

“Thank you” She said.
“For?” I asked.
“For believing me even though you shouldn’t” She said and i wanted to ask her about that last remark but i decided to let it go.

“I saw a doc when i was about coming in” I said.
“Three more came before him” She said and my eyes widened.
“Really?”
“Yeah” She laughed.

“They were all hitting on you?” I asked and she nodded.
“Obviously” She said.

Can one just come in now, let me teach him the lesson of his life.

“So,do you like any of them?” I asked.
“Really? You’re asking me that?” She asked.
“Yeah,i need to know” I said.

“Well… I don’t like any of them a bit,none of them made my heart race” She said.
“Really? Have someone ever made your heart race?” I asked and she nodded.

I tightened my fist and bit my upper lip.
Who the hell is it!

“He must be a lucky man then” I said.
“Sure he is” She smiled.
“Do you mind telling me who?” I asked.
“I’m sorry i can’t tell you that” She said.
“It’s fine. Totally fine” I said trying to hide what I’m feeling presently.

“Your IV fluid is almost finished,let me go get doctor Mart cause you’ll need to eat and get dressed” I said and started walking to the door.
Doc Mart walked in before i even got to the door.

I sighed,i actually wanted to go free up my head.
That was an excuse for me to leave here.

“Hi, how’re you feeling now?” He asked.
“Better” She said.
“You’ll get to have your breakfast after the fluid is finished and of course you need to freshen up too” He said.
“I’ll send a nurse to come help you with that”
“I can do it myself. I don’t need help” She said.

“Are you sure?” Doc Mart asked.
“Yes”
“Fine then, I’ll leave you both. I need to go check on other patients, you can press that button beside the bed once the fluid is finished” He said.

“Thanks doc” I said.

He nodded and walked out of the door.

My phone started ringing and i brought it out of my pocket.

Luke.

?Hi Darrel, come to the police department now.

?Why?

?For Steve’s case.

?Ohh…okay, can’t i be there tomorrow?

?No, you need to come now.

?Okay, I’ll be there soon.

? Alright.

I disconnected the call and glanced at Mia.

“What happened?” Mia asked.
“I’m asked to report to the police department for Steve’s case” I said.
“Ohh,you should leave now” She said.
“Nah! I need to see you have your breakfast” I said.

“Com’on i will” She said.
“I promise” She added.

“Okay,eat well okay. I’ll be right back” I said and kissed her forehead before walking out of the ward.

I watch him walked out of the ward after kissing my forehead tenderly.

Darrel trust me so much that he believes everything i say.
He shouldn’t trust me. I don’t want him to, cause I’ll end up hurting him.
I’ll end up killing him.

Tears blinded my eyes at that thought.
Can i actually bring myself to kill him?
Someone who treats me like a family.
He took just coffee yesternight just to watch over me.
He apologized even though he was not at fault.
He cares about me like I’m his life.

That look in his eyes when i tumbled from the stairs can never be compared.
That look was priceless and undefinable.

I like Darrel,no matter how much i keep denying it.
He’s the only man that has ever made my heart race.
I thought i was attracted to his looks but now…

I don’t need emotion right now,i should just brace up and clear any sort of feelings I’m having for Darrel so it won’t get difficult to kill him.

The door opened and i glanced towards it.
I was expecting Nath or the doctor but i was surprised to see;

I walked into the hospital after i alighted from my car.
I left the station hurriedly,I’ll go back to sort Steve’s case, he’s still kept behind the bars for now.

I need to be with Mia.
My heart has been restless and i couldn’t concentrate on a thing they were telling me.

I cornered into the passage and started walking to the direction of her ward.

I fondled the fresh rose flower i plucked for her.
I want to make her heart race too.

I stopped walking when i saw a guy stepped out of Mia’s ward.
He’s putting on a face cap.

Is he one of the doctors?

I quickly walked towards him.

“Hey” I said and he raised up his head to look into my eyes.
His blue eyes look familiar and i can sense this bad aura laced heavily around him.

“What were you doing in there?” I asked.
“I went to check on my girlfriend” He said giving me a bad look.
“Ohh…i guess you missed her ward then” I said.
“No,i didn’t . My girlfriend is in there and she’s the one i went to check” He said and scoffed at the rose flower I’m holding.

“I guess you’re mistaken” I said.
“I’m not!” He said harshly.
“This ward is Mia’s ward!” I said.
“Yeah,she’s my girlfriend. Mia Cunnane ” He said, shocking me to the bone.

“Yeah,she’s my girlfriend. Mia Cunnane ” He said, shocking me to the bone.

The flower dropped from my hand and my i felt a sudden rise of headache.
He smiled, looking satisfied before walking away.

I shouldn’t believe anything he said right?

Is he the one that makes her heart race?
He’s the guy!
My stomach tightened and i rested on the wall for a while.

My gaze fell on the rose flower on the floor.
Tears build up in my eyes as i smashed it with my shoes.

She told me she’s not in a relationship.
She lied to me!
How could i even believe everything she says.

I wish i had not felt anything for her.
I held back my tears and started walking away from the door.
I thought i could get a chance with her.
I like her so much and for the first time in years,i made up my mind that i want to be in a relationship.

With Mia.

When there are thousands of girls i could have, just by the snap of my finger.
She’s beautiful,cool and simple. Those are the main attributes i love in a lady.

No lady caught my interest since i ended my relationship with Susan.
But everything changed when i met Mia.
She made my heart sway again but unfortunately she can’t be mine.

I came here for a mission but i fell in love instead.
I didn’t regret that i fell in love cause i thought I’ll finally make Mia mine but now I’m regretting why i didn’t concentrate more on my mission.

The whiskey arrived and i poured some into the cup.
I gulped it all down my throat and it felt good.

“He’s not at home either” Nath said.
I sighed worriedly.

It’s 4:30pm already, Darrel promised to be back soon.
I couldn’t have my lunch because i can’t find Darrel.
I’ve called Luke and he said Darrel already left the police department hours ago.

His phone is off.

“Where could he be?” I asked Nath.
“I just hope he isn’t in danger. What if that assassin has hurt him” Nath said.
“No! She has not” i said.
“How did you know?” He asked..
“Huh? I mean, she might have not. I hope he’s fine wherever he is” I said.

I’m this worried cause i can’t find Darrel who has been gone for hours.
What if i kill him,then i will see him no more.

Oh..no!

I felt huge pain slashed my heart.
Can i bear not to see Darrel again forever?

Tears filled my eyes and i tried hard not to make it fall.
My heart felt heavy and I have a feeling Darrel is sad somewhere.
He should just come to me. I need to see him.
I need to feel him.

“Mia,I’ll go search for him but you need to eat first” Nath said.
“I don’t want to” I said.
“You don’t have a choice Mia. You need to, please. You’re just recovering you know” He said.
“How can i eat when I’m not sure of Darrel’s safety. I can’t, don’t force me to eat anymore!” I said.

The door opened and i sat up on the bed thinking it’s Darrel.
I couldn’t hide my disappointment when i saw doc Mart walked in.

“You’ve not had your lunch?” He asked in surprise.
“I can’t!” I said.
“You need to, it’ll help your recovery” He said.
“Darrel is no where to be found and I’ll just sit here eating?” I asked.
“It’s just hours since he left, he’s not a kid, he’s gonna return soon.”
“Darrel doesn’t switch off his phone, something is wrong” I said.

He sighed. “Are you sure you’re just his housekeeper?”
“Of course i am!”
” Nath please proceed with the search” I said.
“Promise me you’ll eat” He said.
“I will” I lied.
“I know you won’t but let’s leave that for now. Keep calling him while i go in search for him” Nath said before walking out of the ward.

I picked my phone and redialled his number.

Same thing!!

“Uh…Can i see your arm?” Doc Mart asked.
I’ve forgotten he’s in the ward with me.
“My arm?” I asked.
“Yeah” He said and i stretched it to him.
“No,the other one” He said and that got me thinking.

“You can use any of my arm for anything you wanna do,why do you want this?” I asked.
“I actually want to inspect the scar on it” He said taking me by surprise.
“Why?” I asked.
“Medical purpose” He said.
“You mean it’s written in the document to inspect the scar on any patient brought in here?” I asked irritably.

“I need to inspect it Ms Mia,it seems it’s not fully healed” He said.
“I know” I said.
“Does that mean it’s a fresh scar?” He asked.
“Do i owe you answers? You’re just a doctor signed to treat me. Don’t pry into my privacy” I said.

“You can leave now” I said and he bowed a little before walking out of my ward.
I hissed loudly and started redialling Darrel’s number.

I heard the door opened again…

“What the hell do you want aga…” I was saying but stopped when i saw Darrel.
I threw my phone on the bed and jumped to my feet.

“Darrel” I called, rushing to him.
He smelled of alcohol and that got me by surprise cause Darrel rarely drink.
He looks stable but his look is not friendly.

He raked his hand through his hair and went to sit on the chair.
“Darrel where have you been?” I asked but he didn’t respond.

I’m glad he’s finally here.
My heart seems to be coming together now.

“We’ve been worried about you” I said standing in front of him.

“Darrel just answer me! Are you hurt?” I asked and he nodded.
“OMG! Where?” I asked and he pointed to his chest.
“Your chest? I’ll go call doc Mart” I said, about rushing to the door when he pulled me back.

“I’m just joking” He said hoarsely and i sighed in relief.
“Where have you been? Your phone is off” I said.
“I saw the guy…” He said.
“The guy?” I asked,lost.
“The guy who makes your heart race.” He said.

The guy?
But,you’re the one!!

“Who?” I asked.
“I saw him walked out of this ward. He told me you’re his girlfriend” Darrel smiled coldly and my heart pounded.

Joel!!
Oh..my..God!

“You lied to me! Mia,you lied to me, you said you weren’t in a relationship!” He half yelled.
“I did not lie Darrel! Im not in any freaking relationship! That guy is the pesterer i told you about, he’s not the guy who makes my heart race” I said and watched his facial expression.

I laughed out as excitement rose in me.
I was wrong all this while and i even drank because of that.

Does that mean i still have a chance?
But that doesn’t change the fact that there’s a guy somewhere who’s making her heart race.
I can make her heart race too.

“I’m sorry for making you guys worried” I said.
“Did that guy said anything else to you?” I asked.
“No,he didn’t but i didn’t feel at ease with him. He’s a bad person” I said and she sighed.
“I would have punched his face if i knew he was the pesterer” I said and she laughed.

“How did he know you’re here?” I asked and she shrugged.
“I don’t know either” She said.
“That means he tails you” I said.
“Isn’t that what pesterers do” She laughed.

I dragged her soft cheeks playfully and she laughed harder.
I smiled happily, seeing her laugh made my increased my feelings for her.
My heart is starting to pump properly.

I was sad hours ago but now I’m happy with the lady who made me sad.

“Why did you drink? you rarely drink” She said, her laughter subsiding.
“I just needed to clear my head” I said .
“And you think drinking is the solution,you should have just talked to me” She said.
“I’ll do that next time” I said.

“Look,i didn’t even touched my lunch” She pouted, pointing to the covered plate on the large stool.
“Aww! I’m sorry but…”
“What?” She asked.
“I’m starving, we’re eating it together” I said.
“Of course” She smiled,adjusting the curls on my forehead.
I felt like pulling her close and kissing her.

Nath suddenly bursted in.

“No! I’m included,we are all eating it together” He said sweating profusely.

?You mean, tonight is the mission?” I asked boss over the phone.

? Yeah.

?How come it’s tonight!” I nearly yelled.

Nath and Darrel already went home to make dinner.

?Gosh! Didn’t you checked your email!

?I..i didn’t.

?What the hell were you thinking!

?Boss,im hospitalised.

?And? Will you freaking get up and start preparing for the mission you have tonight! ” Boss yelled.

?Okay boss” I said and disconnected the call.

What am i gonna do?

I scrolled through my apps and clicked on my email..
The message stared at me.

Surprisingly,im not feeling that vibe again.
I’m always happy whenever i have a mission.
That feeling you get when you’re about to do something you love,that’s what i do feel but now…

Could it be because I’m hospitalised?
Yeah…i guess that’s it.

I glanced at the address and the name of the person.
I stood up from the bed and started performing some exercises.

I yawned and closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep.

We finished having dinner minutes ago.
Nath is already asleep and it seems the liquor Darrel took is affecting him.
He’s starting to doze off beside me.

I just need to wait for some minutes.
I’ll still need to go home and get my outfit and other necessary things.

I opened my eyes slowly and saw Darrel already asleep,he’s not dozing anymore.

I slowly brought out my legs from the blanket and shifted quietly to the edge of the bed.
I looked at him again before picking my flip flops in my hand.

I didn’t bother putting it on before walking to the door stealthily.
i breathed in relief when i held the door knob.

“Mia,where are you going to?” Darrel asked suddenly, startling the day living out of me.
My heart pounded against my chest as i turned slowly.
