” why did you kill your husband? The officer asked facing me.

“I have told you several times, i didn’t kill him, i don’t know how it happened ” i said glaring at her.

” oh, oh, adeshewa you know i am gentle with you, that is why i haven’t manhandled you, you better start confessing now, before i deal with you” she said angrily.

” what do you want me to say? You want me to say ,i killed my husband right ” i said.

” yes, you killed him , just confess that you are the one that poisoned your husband , just confess, i will help you” she said gently. I will not say anything until I see john.

” shewa, i know you are very stubborn, so i will show you the evidence we have with us ” the other officer said as he played a video on his phone, in the video , i was in the kitchen adding something into david food , it even showed the red cloth that was used to wrap the potion, the video showed how david sat in the dining table and was munching his food and i also was with him laughing and talking.

“I don’t think you need to watch the end , because you knew what later happened , with this evidence and your maid’s own there is no need for you to pretend ” he said.

“What did she say, don’t mind her , my husband sacked her when she misbehaved ” i said.

“Shewa, you must think we are fools, you send a huge amount of money to your maid after your husband sacked her we traced your account , so there is something fishy about that” the officer said.

“What about john? Have you found him” i asked impaintently.

“No , not at all, i pity you, keep deceiving yourself, the information you gave us on john , everything is fake, he doesn’t work at the bank, nor live at that area” the officer said as he glared.

What? John is not working at Union bank, but i always meet him at that front of the gate of that bank ,whenever he says i should pick him up from work and his area , that is where i used to drop him, so what is fake , i hope the officer is lieing , because i can’t believe john will lie about where he is working or living.

” Shewa , do you know what your former maid said? The officer asked.

” No , what did she say?

” she said you hate your husband, she even showed us the video when you told her to seduce your husband, and your husband sent her away, and you pretended not to know, you sent her money after , so you better confess, the autopsy that was carried out on your husband body, shows that he was poisoned and the only he ate that day before he died was cooked by you , so what do you want to say again?

The boy john or whatever that you said gave you the medicine, he was no where to be found, even the information you gave us on him was fake, so you are lieing or maybe you even imagined that boy in your head, because i don’t think he is real” the officer said looking at me. Not real ,

this officer is stupid, no john is real my mom can testify to it that , john is real, thank God she saw him. But who gave my maid the video, and my sis in law the video because there was no cctv camera in our house, how did they get it ? If my maid had the evidence before, she would have used it when my late husband wanted to sack her not now

“My daughter see how ugly and tattered you are looking right now, hope they are not manhandling you? My mom touched my hand as she came to visit me at the prison.

“Mom i want to go home, they are torturing me, i am tired of this place” i said crying.

“My dear next week is your court hearing there is no way you can leave here now, my daughter and i warned you , didn’t i, see where your foolishness has landed you , why did you kill your husband, i didn’t want to believe it, but the evidence is clear,

so the only thing i can help you with is a lawyer, the lawyer will fight on your case, i am so ashamed of you and myself, i regret giving birth to a daughter like you, i cannot face your mother in law again, she doesn’t want to see me, everyone now knows me as a mother of a murderer, ha adeshewa you really disgraced me” she said as she bursted into tears.

” Mom am sorry, i am so sorry , i am sorry, it was john , john was the one that deceived me ” i said crying .

“Who is john? She asked.

” mom, john na, john my freind, that you met us together at the restaurant that day , that you had to drag me out, mom and you warned me ooo, i never listened ” i said crying.

“I don’t think, i ever saw you at restaurant since you married, not to talk of dragging you outside, i don’t think, i ever saw you with man apart from your husband, so what are you saying? She asked facing me.

“Mom have you forgotten that restaurant , you came and met me and john eating and you dragged me out, and you later went in and brought my bag” i said .

“He egbami, are you hallucinating , or are you just making things up, see i never saw you at any restaurant or drag you out, so what are you saying? See if you implicate someone then implicate someone that is real stop imagining, no wonder the policeman said he doesn’t think you are normal, my dear are you ok? She said staring at me. What is mum saying na? She dragged me out that day , she even insulted john so what is all this .

“Time up” the jailer said as he walked in.

“My daughter see you next week because your dad has banned me from visiting you , he is not around now that is why i sneaked here , the lawyer will visit you tomorrow please listen to him” she said as she stood up and went out.

” shewa please stop talking about john, there is no john , the officers has investigated , there is no john at all ,all the information you gave them about him were not real , even on your phone , you said you chatted with him but where the police went through your phone there was no one like that ,

even the place you went together , they collected the cctv footage , you were not there not to talk of john see i think you made him up in your mind, so someone will be held accountable for what you did , so stop deceiving yourself, i don’t even know what i can do on your case” the lawyer said as he shook his head.

“I am not making things up, john is real , we kissed so he is real , he was the one that gave me the potion and he said the potion will make my husband not to love me again, and i didn’t know it was poison” i said.

” see, adeshewa i am tired see the prosecutor has won this case already, i am just a figurehead, because all the evidences are pointing to you,

so adeshewa na u know, keep lieing and be forming a boy in your head, till you are hanged to death, the only thing that will pain me is the money your mom paid, because this case you can’t win it,and you here not even confessing to me your lawyer why you killed him, so i can know what to do, see maybe we will meet at the court ” he said as he stood up.

“I killed my husband because i don’t love him” i shouted, the lawyer stopped, since no one doesn’t want to believe that i didn’t kill my husband on my own accord nor do they believe john is real then there must be a reason for me to kill my husband .

The court hearing day.

“My lord, with all this evidences and witnesses, you can also see that adeshewa mudered her husband the reason is still unknown my lord” the prosecutor said as he bowed.

“Do you have anything else to say ? The judge asked my lawyer.

” i have nothing to say again my lord ” he said as he bowed and sat.

“With this evidences , it shows that you adeshewa ,is really guilty of the murder , i hereby sentence you to death by hanging ” the judge pronounced. I bursted into tears , had i known i would have listened to my mother, i looked at my mom who was sitting in the court ,

she was crying, my sis in law was happy and smiling, then i saw john , john was in the court looking at me with a mocking smile, i was so shocked, the officers took me out , i wanted to call John’s name , but i couldn’t speak out , the officers dragged me into their van.

“Adeshewa , you have a visitor ” the jailer said to me.

” no , i don’t want to see anybody naw” i said.

“That is how your mom came to visit you , yesterday and you didn’t see her, you better see your family member before you die, tomorrow is your execution day, so better see someone in your last moments” he said.

“Who came? I asked.

” i don’t know, but he said his name is james no john , his name is john” he said.

“Are you sure his name is john ? I asked looking at him.

“Yes , i am sure” he said. I stood up as he escorted me out.

“John is this really you? I asked shockingly when i saw john.

“Yes it is me, i just came to see you before you die” he said smiling.

” you wicked soul, you turned me into a murderer, you gave the medicine that killed my husband ” i shouted angrily.

“Oh, please calm down , who would believe you anyway, thank God you used that medicine on your husband else i would have ran mad, thank you” he said.

” ran mad as how? I asked glaring at him.

“Yes, i would have ran mad, because the herbalist that gave me the potion told me your husband ,sorry your late husband was a powerful person , the only person that can kill him is the person he loves, and the herbalist told me the condition that if he survives because you didn’t use that potion , i will run mad, i accepted because i trusted you, i knew you would do anything for us to be together because you love me, and stop saying i was the one that gave you the poison you were dumb to believe my lies, and you killed your husband ” he said laughing.

“But why , why did you kill my husband ” i said angrily.

” haha, i knew you would ask, but i don’t want to satisfy your curiosity , the only hint i can give you is that , i and your husband worked together before and he killed my daughter ” he said smiling.

“Killed your daughter” i asked surprisingly.

” i said it before ,that i didn’t want to satisfy your curiosity, God may tell you the reason when you get to heaven, but i don’t think you will go to heaven , maybe hell, sorry shewa i have to go now” he said as he stood up and went out , i couldn’t say anything because i was in deep thoughts, how did david kill john daughter, what is the connection between the two of them.

Tears were running freely from my eyes, as the officer tied the rope around my neck , i was shivering and crying , lord if only i could go back , i wouldn’t have done what i did? I wouldn’t have became a chess in john, the rope was tighten as i began to lose my consciousness.

I opened my eyes and looked around and saw people on white clothe , “shey you dey whine me ni” so i later got to heaven, the lord forgave me.

“Adeshewa are you awake ? Someone said staring at me. The person was m y husband david so david also dey heaven, God is good, so our death no do us part abi? I said in my mind as i stared at him.

“Doctor she has woken up ” he said as the doctor walked towards us, that was when it occurred to me i was in the hospital ………………..

My Dear Readers
Everything that happened to shewa in the last two paragraph was a dream , she asked the lord to show her a sign in , so everything that happened to her in was a sign about what would happen to her if she uses the medicine. how she got into coma , that will be known in this paragraph below........

“What happened to me, why am i at the hospital ” i asked facing david and the doctor.

” Sweetheart, i don’t know what happened to you, you slept for a long time without waking up, i even thought you were dead , because you slept for three days without waking up, babe i had to rush you to the hospital, the first day when i woke you up but you didn’t answer ” he said as he held my hands.

“What was the last thing that happened the night before i slept, what did i do? I asked.

” babe , you prayed do you remember that day that you were praying and i told you to pray for me, that night was the night you slept, you just woke up now, since three days” he said.

“Madam, i must say , i don’t even know what happened to you, i first thought you had, sleep inertia or nacrolepsy, but you slept for three days straight, so i concluded you were brain dead” the doctor said as he looked at me, of course they wouldn’t know what happened to me , they don’t know i was in trance, i was the only one that knew, God knowingly made me fall asleep without waking up to reveal some things to me, like who john really was…………………………….

Three days i was discharged from the hospital , my mom came to visit me, i was very happy to see her, God has given me a second chance , and i can’t misuse it, once bitten twice shy, but i wanted to know what was between john cand my husband david according to what the lord showed me, there is something between the two of them, so john turned me into a chess in order to kill my husband.

“Adeshewa how are you, i have been calling you since the last three days your call hasn’t been going through what’s wrong? John asked when he called me on the phone.

“I am fine, i was sick , i was even admitted to the hospital , i was just discharged today ” i said.

“Oh darling am so sorry, that means you haven’t used the medicine i gave you on your husband ” he said.

“Yes i haven’t ” i said nonchalantly.

” Adeshewa , please you have to use it today it must not exceed four days, you have to use the medicine today ” he said impaintently.

“John but i told you, i was sick na, how can i use the medicine today “i said.

“Please Adeshewa you must use it today, i can’t wait to call you mine, please i don’t want to share you with anybody” he said. Lier the lord has exposed you , you want me to use the medicine so that you won’t run mad and my husband will die, you are very stupid , i said in my mind.

“Okay , i will prepare his food now and add the potion into it” i said as i deceived him.

”Okay darling, i trust you i can’t wait to hear the good news” he said as he cut the call, i didn’t care about him or what he said, all i know is that i won’t poison my husband. I changed in my marriage i no longer have hatred for my husband the two days we used together was fun , i was very happy that i had even forgotten about john, because i had blocked his number, until one day ,

someone knocked on our gate, our gateman was not around because he went to see his sick mother at the village, i was the one that was opening the gate and was closing it, the person knocked, so.i went to open the door, boom tthe person knocking was john.

“John what are you doing here? I asked angrily when i saw him.

” hmnn Adeshewa you didn’t use the medicine on your husband , i know, there is no need to say anything to you, the only person i want to see right now is your husband david” he said.

” Why do you want to see my husband ” i asked angrily.

“Honey who is there? David asked as he walked towards us.

“David how are you? John said as he sighted david.

“Jesus Philip, it has been a long time how have you been ” david said as he smiled. How did my husband know john , i guess his real name was philip.

” you know , i am not fine at all , do i look fine ? john said as he looked at my husband.

“Honey , this is my freind Philip ” he said as he avoided John’s question.

“No don’t bother your wife knows me , there is no need for introduction, adeshewa don’t you know me? He asked facing me.

“Dear lets go inside, we can’t talk to our visitor outside ” i said to my husband as i also avoided john question.

” I came today to confess all the things i have done wrong ” john said when we sat down.

” you have done nothing wrong, i was the one that offended you, i really regret it” david said.

“Honey who is john or Philip to you and what did you do to him? i asked impaintently.

“Let me answer that question on behalf on your husband, i and your husband were friends, i was even the one that gave him this job where he was working now, he was working under me at the company, but one day i was in need of money , so i stole out of the company’s money,

but your husband in here knew what i wanted to use the money to do, but the matter turned upside down the company discovered that there were some money that were missing, they Threaten to sack us all,

if we don’t recover the money, your husband knew i was the one that stole the money, but he didn’t want to lose his job , so he exposed me, and the company took back their money and they sacked me and promoted your husband,

the money i stole from the company was the one i wanted to use for the surgery of my daughter who had heart failure , the amount needed was much, your husband knew all these , but he exposed me and made me lose my only child and my job” john said as he bursted into tears………

“My daughter she died, i couldn’t afford the money , your husband in here knew that they wouldn’t borrow me money in bank because i was owing them already, even company wouldn’t borrow me money, at the end my daughter died and my wife left me” he said crying. I was shocked so my husband and john worked together.

” Am sorry, Philip i am sorry , you also knew at that time , i was so poor, if i had money i would have given you, and that job was my life , i didn’t mean to betray you, because you are my helper you helped me, but after all, i searched and searched for you but i didn’t see you” david said sadly.

” lets forget about that, why i am here today is to confess my sins so i can be free” Philip( john) said as he looked at me, i was shaking where i was , because i knew he would tell my husband everything, then he began , he told my husband everything that happened between us.

” but don’t be shocked, i didn’t touch your wife at all, your wife is responsible she wouldn’t allow me to touch her she said she was still married, if she had use the medicine on you, you would have been dead by now and forgotten and there will be no need for me to atone for my sin” he said as he looked at the both of us.

“And the funniest part was that i loved your wife ,i really love her the moment we shared together was the best , i thought that if you were dead , i will be able to marry her” he said as he continued.

” so you wanted kill me in order to get your revenge and to get my wife , but because my wife didn’t use the medicine , you came here to confess so you wouldn’t run mad” david said glaring at him.

“Yes, i wanted revenge, my life is finished but your own just started , so i wanted to destroy it , but now , i really regret it please forgive me” he said as he knelt down. After everything he said and apologised my husband forgave him , he even sent him money when he was going, but my husband was angry at me, he didn’t speak to me at all,

he told me to pack out of his house, and i didn’t agree, i begged and begged , but he was not listening at all, my family members came and begged him but he didn’t agree.so i decided to do something, i contacted and we planned, i told the lawyer to prepare a fake divorce papers.

“So you have decided to move out of this house” he said, when he saw that i had packed my belongings.

“Weren’t you the one ,who said i should leave your house, i was stubborn before but now i have decided to obey you since you don’t want me anymore, this is the divorce letter make sure you sign them” i said as i gave him the fake divorce papers and turned to walk away but he held me and hugged me from the back.

“Babe, see you are going no where ooo, so you can go and meet Philip again, he even said he loves you that if i don’t forgive you, he is ready to marry him, that idiot, see babe, i have forgiven you , am sorry you have to live with this your ugly husband till you grow old, philip said that what you call me ( ugly husband) ” he said as he tighten his arms around me, that was how he forgave me and we lived happily.

After two years i gave birth to triplets two boys and one girl, the boys were really handsome, but you see the girl i must say she really resembles her father and that was the thing i was afraid of , how can she not resemble me, why did she resemble her father, but i am not that bothered ,i pray she finds true love just like me………………..
