MY LANDLADY Part 2 – Sire Prince Jhay

Everyone was surprised to see the police officers

“Good morning, i’m inspector gowon, we are from Odu police station, Please we are here to see Mrs Florence, the landlady of this house” one of the police officers said helding an identity card of himself.

“Sorry oo, oga police, abeg hope there’s no problem” one of my co-tenants asked out of curiosity.

“Sorry, we can’t answer your question for now, we just need to see her for an intergoration, where is she please?” the other police officer retorted

Landlady heard their voice and she came outside to meet the strangers that had come asking for her.

I was pretending as if I knew nothing. Staring at the policeman as if they were strangers to me.

“Good morning ooo our police officers, I heard you were looking for me. Firstly I was surprised I heard my name and besides.. “

“woman, we are from odu police station, my name is inspector Gowon” he cut-in revealing his identity card for her to have a look.

“How may I help you sir” landlady asked acting curiously

“An information came to us that you būried a human hêåd at the backyard of your house last night. Is that true?”  the police officer asked,  eyes were popped out, mouth were widely open. All my co-tanants were shocked

“Meee… buried a human head?. tufiakpa, God forbid. I didn’t bury anything oo”

“you didn’t bury what?, Landlady, you’re a wicked human being, I saw you with my naked eyes, if you were not būrying a human hêåd, then why did you chose to do it at that time of the night (facing the policemen) sir, I saw her burying it yesterday night. Infact I know the exact place she buried it.” I said

“Michael, you saw me burying human Head (chuckles)” she said facing me with her eyes portraying confusion

“Heyy, woman, we are not here for long talk, please can you just dig out whatever you buried for us to see, it it’s not a human head, it cost you nothing and besides you’re free”  the policemen suggested.

landlady was acting confused and surprised. She stares at me for a long time, though I can’t detect what that look really meant.

“Stop acting innocent, let’s go and dig it out, wicked woman” I yelled at her

All the tenants were confused and scared, their mouth were open ajar as they were all surprised and shocked at what was going on.

I led the police officers to the spot where our landlady buried the head.

“Sir, this is the spot” I said pointing at the ground but scared to get close

“Woman, with due respect, please can you dig it out” the police officer commanded

The landlady went to take a cutlass and a hoe to dig. All of us were waiting curiously to see what the thing could be

She dug it. lo and behold, we saw a pawpaw seed. So it was a pawpaw I saw  that looks like an human head to me..

they moment everyone saw pawpaw seed, they exclaimed sadly and with a long hiss..they were so disappointed.

Without hesitation, I was tortured mercilessly by neighbors and my co-tenants..The policemen arrested me and got me detained for three days.

When i arrived back from the police custody the third day, I packed all my luggages and relocated from the streets.
