“Daddy am sorry, i have to go” i said as i left the house.
“Favour, you dad begged you stay right? My aunt asked when i entered her car.
” yes, he didn’t want me to leave “I said.
“That’s better, you should get ready to take over your mom’s company ” my aunt said.
“Aunt folakemi, my dad is already managing the company, there is no need for me to take over”I said.
“Favour, tell me you are joking, so you don’t want to take over your mom’s company, i pity you , do you want maria to inherit the company your mom left for you” my aunt said.
“No, i don’t want maria to inherit it” i said.
” if you don’t want that stupid girl to inherit it, you better be wise and take over the company, you also know that ,that girl has bewitched your father ” my aunt said.
“Ok sis, i will take over the company, when i graduate, that God am in my final year” i said.
” okay, darling ” my aunt said.
I lived with my aunt till the holidays were over, i resumed back to school, my dad kept calling me, but i didn’t answer his calls,i heard from my aunt that maria had a miscarriage, she told me that my dad called her to tell me, since it was what i wanted. I went back to hostel, i didn’t see maria belongings again, she had packed them,she even took my jewelries along with her stuff, i wasn’t bothered about it, i didn’t see maria at all in school, she doesn’t attend lectures. Fast forward to the final examinations, i wrote my final exams,and did all my projects, my dad called me with another number, then i picked it, i didn’t know he was the one, he told me to come home, he said he wanted to discuss something with me, i didn’t tell my aunt cause she told me to avoid my dad, so i went to our house,i opened the door, i met my grandma and my dad sitted, when my grandma saw me she ran towards me and she hugged me. What is wrong with grandma today 
? I asked myself.
“Favour, my dear how are you? How have you been? My grandma asked.
“Dad, you called me to discuss something with me,tell me, i am very busy ” i said to my dad without answering his mom.
“Favour, i know i have offended you thr the last time, i also know your dad has offended you please forgive him” my grandma pleaded. My grandma behaviour is suspicious.
” grandma i have forgiven dad” i said. Dad has not said anything since i came, why is it that it was only grandma that was doing the talking 
“No you haven’t forgiven him, if you had , you wouldn’t want to take care over his company ” my grandma said. So this was why dad called me here interesting
“Grandma, it’s my mother’s company not his” i said nonchalantly.
” yes i know that its your mother’s company, but your dad has invested a lot in it, please don’t take over, tell your aunt that you don’t want the company, so she will stop bringing lawyers to meet your dad” my grandma said as she held my hands.
” grandma there is no way, i am giving up my mom’s company, my mom has willed the company over to me and i am a graduate, if dad wants a company,he should try and establish his own company” i said mockingly.
“Favour ” my grandma shouted as she glared at me.
” Mom, please calm down, favour you don’t need to take over the company, you are still a small girl, i know your aunt is behind all these, she is the one misleading you, you don’t even know how to handle a company, leave the company for me, and i promise you, i will increase your pocket money, and i will make sure i will provide everything you need,Thank God you are good at making hair,i will open a very big saloon shop for you, you just tell your aunt you are not capable of handling the company, tell her to stop disturbing me, you know i love you right? And i want the best for you” my dad said as he took my hands. I started laughing.
“Favour what’s funny? My dad asked angrily.
“Dad , i can really feel your love, your love for me is very deep that you wouldn’t believe anything i say, you even choose to believe the maid not me ,your daughter” i said as i rolled my eyes.
“That was before, not now, i really trust you” my dad said.
“Dad see there is no need to deceive me, i wont leave my mom’s company in your hands, there is no way am allowing that” i said as i took up my bag to leave.
“Okay, no problem greet your aunt” my dad said.
“Segun, don’t tell me you are allowing her to leave ” my grandma said angrily.
“Yes she is free to leave, she has the right to take over her mom’s company, since she doesn’t want me to manage the company again, then that’s fine” my dad said sadly. I looked at him, he was very sad, i was feeling sad for him, then i remembered what my aunt said about maria inheriting the company, i walked out of the house without looking back. I walked in our street with the hope of finding a motorbike, suddenly Someone covered my nose with a handkerchief, i inhaled it and i lost my consciousness. ………….

Was Favour kidnapped?
I woke up in a strange place, i was tied down,two boys were sitted ,there were looking at me.
” you are at the point of no return ” one of the boys said as he brought out his pistol.
” please let me go, i have money, i can give you plenty money” i said as i pleaded.
“Even if you are a billonaire we don’t care,we do fulfill our promises, since our client wants you dead, so be it “the other boy. I am sure it’s maria that want me dead, that wicked girl.
“Am still a young girl, i still have many things to do in this world, please let me go” i said as i cried.
“Bade, this girl too like talk, if not because of manaki that learned about this mission and said we should wait for him, we would have k*lled her since” one of the boys .
” that’s what am waiting for, he should come fast ooo, he knows the client said we should send him pictures of her corpse, so make we do am fast fast” the other boy said. So they are going to k*ll me, God please save me, i said in my mind as i started praying. someone came in.
” Makanaki, two hands for you baba, we have been waiting for you” one of the boys said as they greeted the man, the man didn’t answer them , he just looked at me, i know this man somewhere, he is one of the area boys in our street, i said in my mind mind as i stared at him.
“Why did you accept this mission without informing me? The man said to them.
“Sorry baba, the client gave us a lot of money, and we know you don’t accept this kind of deal, so that was why we didn’t tell you about it” the other boy said apologetically.
“Do you this girl you kidnapped is one of my people” the man said.
“Makanaki we don’t know ooo, please forgive us, we don’t know she is your sister we wouldn’t have touched her atall”one of the boys said.
” i never said she is my sister, i said she is one of my people, release her,are you deaf? The man asked.
“Yes, i mean no baba” the boy said as he bowed. The boy released me and i sat down.
” whenever this girl sees me in the area, and i hail her she would give me money, do you remember the day, i brought a lot of acholic drinks for you guys, she was the one that gave it to me, that day her father was celebrating his birthday, he didn’t want me to enter his compound, he told security guys to send me out, this girl was the one that begged me that day cause, i was very angry i wanted to scatter the party, so she brought a lot of drinks out for me, so you better thank your creators that you haven’t touched her or else you also know what would have happened to you guys” the man said.
“Who was the client that gave you the job? The man asked the boy.
“We don’t know his name, it was marka that saw the man ” the boy said.
” marka, i am sure you heard your name, who was the client is it a man or a woman?the man asked.
“Baba na man, he lives in your area , you even said he has offended you before,you showed his picture the last time i came to your area” marka said as he bowed. The man pressed his phone and showed him something on his phone.
“Is this the man? Makanaki asked.
“Yes he is the one, baba am very sorry , i knew he offended you, but i still accepted the mission, baba you know i need money, baba you seff know, its not that i betrayed you” marka said.The man looked at me and shaked his head.
“Do you know the person that ordered my boys to k*ll you ? The man asked.
” yes, i know its maria my dad’s fiancee, she is very wicked ” i said angrily.
” No you are wrong, the person is a man” makanaki said.
” A man? I asked.
” yes, and am sorry to inform you that , the man is your dad ,he wants you dead”makanaki said. No that not possible , my dad.
“No, my dad can’t harm me,no that’s not possible ” i said.
“My boys don’t lie, because they know the consequences, see my dear there is a lot of things that are happening in this world, a woman contacted me one day , she gave me a mission to beat up her son and wound him, i asked her the reason, she said she told him not to marry the girl he married, so she told us to tell the son that we were sent by the wife, can you imagine? So don’t be too sure about anyone in this life, what if i didn’t learn about this my boys would have k*lled you, so i want to ask you a question , is there anything between you and your dad or do you know any secrets about him? Makanaki asked facing me.
“No, yes there is something, my mom’s company, my dad has been one managing it, now i wanted to take over ,since my mom willed it to me, but that’s not enough reason for my dad to kill me, am not sure, he is the one , what if someone is behind the scenes ” i said. Then Makanaki looked at me and rolled his eyes.
“Marka , call the client and tell him the work is done” Makanaki said.marka called the person the person picked and he put his phone on loud speaker.
“Have you done the job? The person asked. No i must be hearing things, cause the voice ,i heard was my father.
“Yes the job is done” marka answered him.
” ok remember to send me the evidences ” my dad said as he cutted the call. My dad wanted me dead because of the company, and i thought it was maria 
I thought it was maria, i didn’t know, it was my dad.
“So do you now know the person that wants you dead?makanaki asked.
“Yes, but i can’t believe that my dad wants me dead,because of the company” i said sadly.
“Don’t be sad,that was why i told you before that you shouldn’t trust anybody, marka give her , her phone” Makanaki said. Marka brought out my phone from his pocket and gave it to me.
“Your dad needs pictures, so you have to give us money,so we can buy chicken, so we can use it’s blood to replace your own, you have to pretend as if you are dead”Makanaki said.
” i can’t believe that he is even asking for pictures, human beings are wicked” i said
” yes, so he can be sure you are dead” marka said.
“The money i have wouldn’t be enough, but i will transfer money to you” i said to Makanaki, as i asked for his account details, he told me, I sent him two hundred thousand,am sure my dad paid more than that ,life is more important than money. Then his phone beeped. He looked at his phone, he was suprised.
“I only asked for money for chicken, you dad had given my boys five hundred thousand naira before, wow, marka take this and withdraw money and buy chicken ” Makanaki said as he gave marka his atm. Few moments later, marka brought the chicken along with a knife, he killed the chicken, the chicken blood was gushing out, i looked at it, am sorry you had to die for me, i laid down as they poured it blood over my body, i closed my eyes as i pretended as if i was dead,marka snapped me.
” done baba” marka said as he bowed.i sat down.
“Please can i call my aunt? I asked.
” sure, if she is not a part of all these ” Makanaki said.
“She is not part of it am sure” i said confidently as i dialled my aunt’s number, i explained everything that happened to her, she was shocked, she asked if she could come and pick me , i asked Makanaki about it, he said it was fine, she asked for the location and directions, i asked Makanaki, and he told her.Few moments later, my aunt called me, that she was around, i told Makanaki, he told marka to pick her up, after i told him the dress she wore, and the type of car she brought,marka brought my aunt, she rushed towards me and she hugged me .
“Thank God , that you are alive thank God” my aunt said.
” aunt folakemi, my dad want to k*ll me because of the company, he wants me dead, i cant believe i lived with him all this years”i said as i bursted into tears.
“Sorry my dear, don’t cry, i was the one that caused it, if only i didn’t mention the company ,this wouldn’t have happened, thank God you are unharmed because, i wouldn’t forgive myself if something bad happens to you” my aunt said.
“He was the one that saved me ” i said to my aunt as she knelt down and thanked makanaki.
“Thank you very much sir, thanks for saving my sister’s life” my aunt said as he thanked her.
” your sister was the one that saved herself, because she is a good person ,so you have to keep her hidden for the main time, she has to stay safe, but i hope you wouldn’t report us to the police” Makanaki said as he looked at my aunt.
” i wouldn’t dare” my aunt replied. My aunt gave me the clothes ,i told her to bring, i went to a corner and I changed, we were ready to leave , my aunt gave Makanaki money, he was very happy, he said he can k*ll my father , if we want , but we said no, marka escorted us to the Place where my aunt parked her car, my aunt gave him money also , he was very happy, he hailed us as we drove off.
When i got home, i told my aunt my plans, i would discard my sim and go for my NYSC program, so i will stay hidden for one year,thank God it was a faraway state. My aunt agreed and she supported me, one day my dad called her, that he has not heard of me that he has been trying my number but it was not reachable, my aunt played along and told him that she hasn’t heard of me, she has called me, but it is not also reachable, my aunt sounded so troubled,when she ended the call ,i laughed, this my aunt and my dad they both deserve Oscars. I went for my service, it was only my aunt that had my new number, i didn’t contact anyone from my family except my aunt, she has been the one giving my latest gist, about how my dad was searching for me, that man is a pretender , he is not worthy to be called my dad. ………
Will favour be able to take over the company, when she comes back?
I decided to suprise my aunt first, but my aunt taye said we should visit my dad to check how he was doing at the company and to collect evidences about his crimes , so i went to the company with my mom twin sister, when we got there the secretary was shocked , when she saw me, because she knew me,she must have heard about me,that i was missing, she wanted to relay the message to my dad that i was around, but i told her that i wanted to suprise him, i told my aunt to stay with the receptionist, and i entered the office, my dad was busy with his phone, when i entered so he thought ,it was his secretary.
“Drop the files” he said without looking up. When he noticed there was no movement , he looked up, he was shocked when he saw me.
“Ghost, ghost” he shouted and screamed, he made efforts to call the secretary but i didn’t allow him.
“Am not a ghost am real, am not dead ” i said as i looked at him. He was shocked, he touched me and felt me.
Then he bursted into tears.
“Oh favour i have missed you so much, where did you go? what happened to you, why didn’t you contact me?my dear daughter ” he said crying as he moved towards me, this man i am not here to act with you , i am here to record your crimes. I said in my mind
“Dad, honestly speaking you deserve an award, do you think i don’t know that you wanted me dead, you are very wicked, i hate you dad” i said as i faced him, he was shocked.
” babe what the hell are you saying? Why will i want you dead , you are my daughter , that not possible, how will i….
“Shut up, i hate lies and i hate you, so you mean you don’t know Makanaki boys, dad they gave me the evidences, your voice recordings dad, everything, the pictures of you when you gave them money, i have them all ,so there is no need for you to pretend ” i said angrily, his face changed.
“I thought you were dead ,why are you still alive?i can’t believe those boys made a fool out of me, those boys deceived me, favour yes i wanted you to dead,how can you decide to collect the ownership rights of the company from me, you didn’t consider me as your dad, you wanted to strip me out of my position,you wanted to turn me into a laughing stock, do you know that, that time your aunt came with lawyers, i was so embarrassed, workers in this company began to mock me, that i was fighting for position with my daughter, i was so ashamed, i begged you but you didn’t answer , if only your aunt didn’t mention about the will everything would have been fine your aunt caused it all” he barked angrily.
“My aunt is not the one at fault it was you, you wanted to k*ll me yourself, not my aunt” i shouted, then someone opened the door, it was my mom twin’s sister, she entered the office, when my dad saw her, he started shaking.
” please, please don’t kill me,don’t me, i was not the one that killed you please” my dad said, and he went on his knees and started pleading, what happening?
“Why should i not kill you, you killed me” my mom’s twin’s sister shouted angrily, her eyes was very red , i was afraid, what’s happening? It was as if she was possessed.
“I was not the one that killed you, it was your younger sister folakemi ,we planned it together , she was the one that instructed the nurse to inject you with that medicine,i only wanted you to run mad so i could take over the company, i didn’t know that you will die, she didn’t tell me that she wanted you dead ” my dad said with tears in his eyes.
” segun, i wished i never met you” my aunt’s twin sister said, how did she know my dad’s name, i looked at her suspiciously, she looked at me and touched my face.
” don’t trust folakemi she killed me, don’t trust anyone in this life except yourself, my daughter ” she said as she touched my face, i was shocked, she hugged me, i started crying, she pulled out of the hug and looked at me surprisingly.
“Favour, why was i hugging you, why am i in here” my mom twin’s sister asked me, then i knew the person that talked to me before was my mother, her ghost.
“I sat down with secretary, when did i enter?she asked as she looked around and she saw my dad on the floor.
” why is he lying on the floor ” she asked, then i moved closer to my dad,i checked him, then i noticed that he fainted, i stopped my phone voice recorder, and i told my aunt to follow me out. We went out of the office, i told the secretary to go attend to my dad, then i left the company with my mom’s twin sister. When we got outside, i explained everything that happened to my aunt , i told her about how my dad confessed and how my mom’s spirit possessed her, she was shocked, she knew i wasn’t joking , because she had no recollection about how she entered into my dad’s office.
After explaining everything to my aunt, she said we should report everything to the police, so we went to the police station to report everything that happened to the officers.
“How do we get folakemi confession? My aunt taye asked.
“Through you, she will confess when she sees you” i said facing her.
“So you think that your mom ghost will possess me once again, you are not serious ” my aunt said.
“There is no need for mom ghost to possess you, you have to pretend like a ghost, since folakemi doesn’t know about you, so have to act like a ghost ” i said as i looked at her, i told her about all my plan in order to get sis folakemi confession. We made plans with the police.The police has arrested my dad at his home secretly without casting out the information. Then i called sis folakemi.
” sis folakemi good afternoon, am back ma”i said to her when i called her.
” oh my darling, how are you? You would have told me before coming, you know i have to protect you from your dad” my sis folakemi said.
“Yes ma, i know, that was why i called you so i can come directly to your house, are you at home” i asked.
” yes my darling am at home, do you need me to come pick you up? She asked.
“No ma, i am coming make sure you prepare a very delicious food for me” i said as i joked with her.
” ok no problem, darling stay safe” my aunt said.
” okay ma” i said as i cut the call.
” she is at home”i told my aunt and the officers, then we went to her place, it was the police van that took us to sis folakemi house. On getting there, i entered her compound with my aunt,i knocked her door and she opened it, she saw me and smiled at me, then she saw my mom twin’s sister. She was shocked, and she was shaking.
“Aunt folakemi , what wrong, why are you shaking? I asked as i looked at her innocently.
“Some, someone is behind you ” my aunt stuttered.
” sis folakemi, you and your jokes nobody is behind me ” i said as i smiled. Then my mom’s twin sister moved closer to her. She started screaming.
“Please forgive me am very sorry, i am sorry please ” my aunt said as she knelt down.
“Why should i forgive you, you killed me? My aunt asked angrily.
” please forgive me, i didn’t mean to, please you were the one that caused it, you didn’t care about me, you only cared about your husband and yourself , you were very stingy with your money , it was not only me that killed you,your husband was also among, hunt him not me please ” my aunt said as she cried. i looked at her and shaked my head, i paused my phone voice recorder and looked at her.
” sis folakemi,you are an evil human being, how could you kill my mom, your sister, you are a very horrible person ” i said angrily as i glared at her. She looked at me and glared at me.
” your mother is the horrible one, not me, your mom got rich and forgot about me, she didn’t care about me. I had a rich sister who can feed the whole community but, i had to work hard to eat, many horrible things happened to me, that i can’t say, but your mom was enjoying her riches with her husband , when i go to her to ask her for money, she will tell me the story of how my father her step father molested her, so she can’t help me because, i was his daughter, so your mom caused it all not me” my aunt shouted angrily and pounced on me,my mom’s The twin sister pressed the alarm button, then police officers came and handcuffed my aunt.
“Stupid girl, you manipulated me, i wish you had died back then when your mother died” she said as she glared at me, the police officers took her away , i bursted into tears, my mom’s twin sister hugged me and comforted me.
We had submitted all the evidences to police, both my aunt and the nurse and my dad were arrested they also confessed to the crime.
At the court
When all the evidences were submitted to the judge, the judge sentenced my dad to life imprisonment and sentenced both my aunt and the nurse to death by hanging, i was very happy, my mom’s twin sister was also happy, at last i avenged my mom. Now back to maria ,my stepmom 
she was pregnant again for my dad, when i went to visit my dad at the police station he begged me to take care of her, and make sure that she doesn’t ab*rt the baby. So i went to see maria at her mother’s house, that was where she went since the time the police officers arrested my dad. I greeted her parents and i also greeted her, her parents gave us space to talk.
“Favour, i know i have offended you , but please forgive me” she said as she knelt down.
” please stand up, you shouldn’t harm your baby, i have forgiven you , i had even forgotten about you” i said as i looked at her.
“How did you know that i was pregnant? She said as she looked at me.
“My dad told me, and he asked me to take care of you” i said as i looked at her.
“There is no need for you to take care of me, i can’t give birth to a child of a criminal no i can’t, so i will have to ab*rt it” she said sadly.
“Nope you Can’t ab*rt that innocent soul, please just give birth to the child, i will take care of the child ” i said as i held her hand. She started crying.
“Don’t worry,my dad had opened an account for you, so when you give birth to that child the money will be yours ” i said to her, her face brighten, she smiled, this girl she loves money.
Eight months later, maria gave birth to a baby girl, i was at the hospital when she gave birth, after she gave birth she asked about the account, so i gave her the atm and told her the pin , she was very happy. That stupid girl maria dropped her baby with me, one day to babysit her, she left but she never came back, i heard she went abroad, so i was the one that took care of the baby , i named her Sarah.
Twenty years later.
Maria daughter, Sarah still calls me mum, i tried correcting her everytime that am her sister, but she wouldn’t just listen, she said am her mom just like am hannah’smom, hannah is my daughter i gave birth to through surrogacy, i didn’t marry because i was afraid of my mom and dad story, i believed nobody loved me they only love my money cause , i was very rich, my mom’s twin’s sister tried everything she could so i could get married, but it was futile, i only wanted a baby, so now am a single mother with two kids .
