Waow finally she agreed to marry me hurray….
John danced round his table.

It’s almost 3 years now, that John has been asking for Vera’s hand in marriage, but she has kept John waiting for her response.

Her first excuse was that, “I’m still in school and I’m in my final year now, just give me time please….”

After she graduated, she went for her service. John came asking again but her normal response was “give me time.”

“I’ve given you enough time Vera, what time are you still seeking for? I’ve placed my life on pause waiting for you to graduate, and now you are doing your youth service you are still asking me to wait?” Said John.

“Brother John, if you really love me like you claim, then wait for me. After all, the Bible admonishes us to wait on the Lord” (She said with her two hands on her waist looking at John straight in his eyes).

” How about the money you promised me brother John?”

“Oh! I forgot” (he said robbing his two hands on his head emotionally).
“But I promise, as soon as I get home, I will transfer the money to your account I did not come with my phone.”

“Abeg go jooor”
(she pushed John softly on his chest).
“why won’t you forget it? But if it is this marriage issue now you won’t forget to ask o”
She said pretending to be angry.

“Anyway don’t forget to transfer it when you get home o.”

(They both parted)

Months later Vera was through with her youth service.

John was seeing Vera off after the revival service.
” Hope does sisters in the Church have not been eyeing you all this while have not been around?”

(John smiled but didn’t say a word)

“Ehen! You don’t want to answer me abi? I know am saying the truth. If I catch them near you I will break those their tiny tiny legs.”

“Hahhaha”
(John laughed aloud with his baritone voice)

“Everyone in this church knows you are the one I want to marry, even the blind can see and perceive my love for you.”

“Ewooooh! Don’t flatter me with those words jareee” said Vera.

“Please Vera marry me, I promise I will always love you, care for you and protect you.”
(He said those words softly as if tears was going to run down his eyes)

” Brother John please give me more time I need to pray about it. You know this marriage issue is not something one can just jump into conclusion hastily.”
(She said looking away from John)

“Ah! Pray….? Haven’t you been praying all those while?”
John asked with great surprise written all over his face.

“All I’m asking for brother John is just a little more time.”

“Hmmm okey since you say so I will wait.” Said John.

(Six moths later)

John was about going to bed, when Vera’s call came in.

“Hello brother John, have been praying about your proposal, and God has actually given me a word.”

(John was so anxious to hear the word that follows)

“Yes! I will marry you”

John jumped away from His bed and started dancing round his table, even though he was not a good dancer. He could not sleep that night because of the joy that overwhelmed him.

But this is just the beginning of the whole story.

(It was their wedding day, John has put on his black suit and red tie)

The families and the well wishers were already seated in the church waiting for the bride.
The church marriage committee have to conduct some medical test before the wedding can commence.

John was standing outside the church so worried looking at his wrist watch. He turned and looked at his best man
“What kind of test are they still conducting for God’s sake na! They should come and start this wedding jareee, is it today that they want to carry out the medical test in the world on my wife to be?

James his best man try to calm him down.

John later went inside the church and sat down. The officiating pastor pick up the mike and announced
” Ladies and gentle men, we are sorry, the wedding will not continue. ”

There was serious pandemonium, everyone picked up their bags and their gifts as they began to leave one after the other.

(John almost fainted where he was seated.
His friends have to hold him tight if not he would have run out of the Church like a mad man.
It was later the church marriage committee disclosed the issue to him).

” We are sorry, the Lady you want to marry is already 3moths pregnant for another man.”
(John fainted instantly, water could not revive him, so he was quickly rushed to the hospital)
