Femi met Adeola during their 3rd year in the university and few months later they started a relationship…..
After graduation from the university they decided to inform their parents about their relationship….. Adeola was so excited because she could see that Femi was serious about what they share……
It was no longer a news that they were both in love with each other….
Femi was a purpose driven young man who is so committed to his personal development but Adeola was a lady who takes life as it comes….
At times Adeola feels Femi was too serious about life…. She often tell him this phrase “whatsoever you will get in life you will get, whether you chase them or not”
Femi was not okay with her ideology of life but he was willing to help her take her growth seriously….
On so many occasions he would tell Adeola to attend seminars and conferences together with him, but she would always have one excuse or the other not to attend……..
He then decided to buy her books to read in order to enhance her intellectual capacity….. She wouldn’t read them beyond the first chapter…..
Whenever he asks her, she would tell him how she was busy hanging out with her friends to see the latest movies in the cinema…..
Femi kept complaining but she would not yield positively……
Two years into their relationship, they found it difficult to communicate effectively…… They seem to have a varying perception of life……
Adeola could not comprehend the futuristic plans of Femi….. She was more interested in what’s happening now but He was seeing beyond NOW….
They began to have conflicting interests and desires…… Every conversation leads to dispute and disagreements…..
Femi loved her so much but they were no longer intellectually compatible and she was not willing to take her intellectual growth seriously …..
Femi had no choice but to end the relationship…..

I understand the fact that Love conquers all, but it is expedient to know if your partner shares your vision……
Don’t marry a man/woman who doesn’t take personal growth seriously…..
Before you embark on a journey of intellectual growth, ENSURE YOU INVOLVE YOUR PARTNER…… Because if he/she is not growing in your pace, your growth would be affected…..
Be willing to grow with your partner, not only in intimacy and love, but also intellectually…..
Growth takes a conscious effort…..
If he/she is not ready to grow after putting in so much effort…… Walk away from such relationship, so as not to end with a partner that would keep dragging you backwards…..
No matter how fast you’re growing, if your partner is not willing to grow, he/she will consistently frustrate your plans for the relationship….
Let go of such relationship….
IT IS NOT PRIDE….. YOU ARE JUST TAKING YOUR FUTURE SERIOUSLY…
Growth is intentional…..
Take personal development seriously…..
Walk away if he/she is not willing to grow….
