Don’t Let Their Money Fool You
I just want to share a lesson on the 419 issue for our youths to learn.
When I was still single, I met this charming man who wanted to marry me. He had everything a woman wanted in a man. He was very caring and cute and he tried to rush me into settling down with him but I was still in school and I was too young. He was 29 while I was 18.
One day I asked him how he makes his money and he told me he is a businessman who buys and sells and I believed him. One day, my aunt told me that she saw my boyfriend at a party and that the way he was throwing money around is something I shouldn’t joke with. She said that no one who laboured for their money would spend it that way.
Meanwhile, my pastor had given his approval to marry him that he is good for me. After the discussion with my aunt, I decided to really find out what he does.
I found out that he is into international fee fraud, 419. I got really scared when he brought the marriage issue up again and I told him I was too young to get married. He said he would wait. My friends said I shouldn’t leave him because he is rich and handsome but I chose not to fall for that.
Meanwhile, a friend of mine went behind me to date him. They got married and had 3 kids together. 3 years later, 2 of their children died. He became so ill to the extent that they sold everything. If you see him now, you would think he is a mad man. My friend left him and took their only child who has epilepsy which makes my friend weep.
The youths need to know that all that glitters isn’t gold.
Don’t let their money fool you.
