Cold entered my body when the deep voice told us about the rules of the game. I don’t think I can do this. I said.

Let’s just find a way to get out of this house I told Tony the guy I met at the house. Let’s work together, we will be able to get out of here alive. I told him.

But he paid deaf ears to what I was saying, Just as I was trying to convince him, He started heading to the kitchen. Where are you going to? I asked confused. To the market. he answered. I want to go bring my own food to begin the game. He said.

He headed to the kitchen and took his own food. Immediately I followed him and entered the kitchen and took my own food and brought it to the dinning. Your time starts now. They deep voice said.

Are you sure, you want to do this? I asked Tony. But he didn’t even care to listen to me. He started eating his food. I watched him gently eating. I had to save my life, I pulled out my shirt and started eating as fast as I could, I didn’t want to d!e. minutes later, my plate was empty.

I finished my food. Tony watched me finished my food. Sir I have finished my food. I said out loud. Just then the laughter from the house continued again. You have passed the test. The voice said.

What test? I asked. Just then my girlfriend came to the living room with her parents. Dad, mom this is my boyfriend Ayochidi. My girlfriend said. I took a deep breath. And he? I asked pointing at Tony who was still eating his food.

That’s my brother. My girlfriend said. Your brother? Then what just happened here. I asked. You passed the test babe, you played the game so well. My girlfriend said.  I was almost choked trying to force the food to my mouth. i said.

We play a lot in this family, we make everyone feel welcomed. My girlfriend said. So this is actually your house? house 30P? I asked my girlfriend Ruth. Yes of Course, she said. smiling.

Her parents sat on a large sofa together with her. I was still in shock, not knowing what to say. Hope you did not choke? her mother asked me. I’m fine ma.

I was still with the empty plate on my hand. Are you reading for the next phase of the game? My girlfriend father asked letting out a loud laughter.

i look at him in suspense, waiting to hear what he has to say. There was a minute silence in the room. Just then the whole family let out a loud laughter.

We got you babe. My girlfriend said. He was just kidding. Can you see how you made you face look? the father said still trying to hold his laughter.

That was when I realized I have met a crazy family.
