CHAPTER 19

Kristin’s POV continues..

“What?” They all asked facing me

“Why don’t we have a sleepover at my house tomorrow cos the maid is going to visit her family and i’m scared to stay home alone plus i want you guys around…” I said hoping the will say yes..

“Done” Jerry said grinning.

“Ok” Braylen said..

“Hmm,i will tell granny” Elara said.

“Ela don’t worry,i will tell granny myself when i drop you”..

“Ok” She said..

“So you guys will come tomorrow after school along with the necessary things you are gonna need…We are all going to have q nice time till on wednesday when you guys are ready to go home” I said and they all nodded..

“Class prefects” Braylen said bowing jokingly and we all laughed..

“Griiiiiin” The bell rung for lunch over…

“Do you guys even believe that none of us ate lunch,we were all busy fighting in the cafeteria” Ela said sarcastically and we all laughed again heading to the class..

Most of the students are sitted..Braylen and Jerry walked to their seats but Ela and i stood in front of the class..

“Silence please” Ela said to the class and they all gave her the look of who-the-fuck-are-you-to-order-silence…

I answered their thoughts by saying;

“Class, Elara Wentworth and Kristin Vlados are now appointed as the class prefects..” I said pointing to our badges

… They all fell silent staring at us..

“It would be better if you guys give us the respect we deserve to avoid severe punishment” Ela said boldy acting like a class prefect should..And i saw Braylen and Jerry giggling at the back..

The students were already mumbling whispering to theirselves which created noise..

“Silence class” I said and they all kept silent,i felt excitement bubble within me…I’ve never thought i could control this class..

“We hereby announce to you that there is gonna be a public holiday on wednesday” Ela said and some students were already happy jumping in excitement..

“Lazy dullards” I thought😂

“And please,maintain decorum till a teacher comes in to avoid punishment” I said and we both walked to our seats; shoulder high..

“Class prefect” Braylen and Jerry whispered to us giggling..

Fast Forward

( school over)

Elara’s POV..

School is over,we all headed downstairs..We saw Braylen’s and Kristin’s car parked differently..

“Bye girls” Braylen and Jerry said hopping into Braylen’s blue benz..

“Bye guys” Kristin and i also said hopping into Kristin’s pink lexus..Then the driver drove off..

“Kristin,is my face swollen?” I asked..

“No but you have a cut on your chin and upper lip..Why asking?” Krisin asked..

“Granny would be so worried if i tell her i fought at school,and also i don’t want to bother” I replied a little worried..

“That’s true,so what will you tell her?”

“I don’t know”

“Why don’t you tell her you fell from your locker,that is much more better than telling her you fought” Kristin said..

“Ok i think i would do just that” I said..

“I will tell granny about the sleepover myself ok?” Kristin said and i nodded..

“We are home already” I said and the driver parked..We both alighted from the car going into the house..

We entered the house and met granny coming out from the kitchen..She smiled on seeing us..

“Good afternoon granny” We both greeted..

“Afternoon darlings,how was school?” Granny asked..

“Fine granny” We both replied.

“Ara what happened to you chin and your upper lip?” Granny asked already looking worried..

“Hmm..I fell down from my locker” I lied..

“Sorry dear,you should apply some balm later ok?” Granny said inspecting the cuts..

“Granny,look” I said and pointed to my badge..

She gasp..

“Wow..Really?” She asked

“Yes granny,our pair got the highest mark on the practical” Kristin said..

“Oh..my..darlings” Granny said pulling us into her arms..

“This is awesome,congrats darling” Granny said..

“Thanks granny”

“Granny,there is a public holiday on wednesday and please i want Ela and two of my friends to have a sleepover at my house tomorrow and she will be back on wednesday evening” Kristin said..

“Oh..Really ofcourse she is free to.” Granny said and we both smiled at each other..

“Thanks granny”..

“Do you care for some cookies,i just finished baking it” Granny said.

“Yes granny,am so hungry” Kristin said following granny to the dining..

I dropped my bag on the couch and also went to join them..We all sat eating the cookies with chilled bottled water..

“This is yummy” Kristin said..

“Yes it is,i used a special recipe” Granny said smiling..

“Granny please can i take some home,i dont want to keep my driver waiting..” Kristin said..

“Ofcourse” Granny said packing some cookies in a foil paper and handed it over to her..

“Thanks granny” Kristin said collecting the cookies..

“Bye granny” Kristin said walking to the door..

“Bye kristin” Granny said and i followed her outside..

“Bye Kristin” I said following after she got into her car..

“Bye Ela,i will come and pick you tomorrow”

“Ok thanks..Bye” I said and the driver drove off and i also walked back into the house..

Braylen’s POV

I entered the house and saw Nanny seated on the couch watching a tv programme..

” Nanny” I called jumping on the couch beside her..

She look startled and hitted me on my shoulder..

“Silly boy,you scared me” She said.

I pouted and faced the other side pretending to be angry at her for hitting me..

She cleared her throat..”Ok i’m sorry but you startled me” She said and i turned back to her smiling..

“How was school today?”

“Fine nanny” I replied..

“Braylen” She said..

“Huh?”

” Hmm…your..par..ents are back they are upstairs” She said..

“Ok” I said with a shrug and turned back to the tv..

“Braylen come-on atleast go and say hi” Nanny said but i was still sitting down..

“Braylen please” She pleaded..

I dropped my bag and stood up with a frown heading to their room…

I got to their door and knocked..

“Come in” I heard the shrilling voice of mum..

I opened the door and entered,they were both on the bed..

“Hi mum”

“Hi dad” I said and turned to walk out..

“Braylen” My mum called walking towards me,you are pissed with us right. We are sorry we couldn’t make time for you” My mum said..

I stood there without uttering a word..turning to walk out again..

“Braylen” Dad yelled

We have to work hard to secure a good future for you.

Cos of you, we are working our butts off and all you can is get annoyed cos we don’t spend time with you..

Are you a baby?

“Don’t we normally send cash to your account?

Isn’t Nanny there to for you? Dad yelled..

“You stayed in America for 5 months without calling me not to talk of asking of my welfare,and you expect me to jump into your arms to welcome you? I asked getting pissed..

“I don’t want your money !!!

Is nanny my mother?

You’ve never spent a week with me not to talk of months !!

“Do you think money can buy parental care?

“You’ve never been there for me when i needed you.” I said already crying..

“Not even a hug !!

Have you ever told me you missed me..

I prefer being an orphan than having you both as my parents..” I yelled crying and went out of their room slamming the door loudly..

“Braylen come back here !!!” Dad yelled with anger in his voice…

I opened the door to my room,locked myself in and cried myself to sleep…
