Married A Snake Goddess
Episode 2

The morning after the terrifying incident, Agnes sat in the kitchen stirring a pot of tea, her hands trembling. She hadn’t slept a wink, her mind consumed by what she had seen the night before. She knew she had to tell Mike, but how? Would he even believe her? She could still see the glowing red eyes, the scales shimmering under the moonlight. Her heart pounded just thinking about it.

When Mike finally came downstairs, cheerful as ever, Agnes stiffened. Linda was still in the guest room, resting, as she claimed to have had a sleepless night. Agnes took this as her opportunity.

“Mike, sit down,” she said, her voice shaky.

Mike frowned, but obeyed. “Mom, is everything okay? You look pale.”

Agnes hesitated, gathering her thoughts. “It’s about Linda,” she began, keeping her voice low. “Last night, when I went outside… I saw something. Something I can’t explain.”

Mike’s expression shifted, his brows knitting together. “What are you talking about, Mom?”

Agnes swallowed hard. “I saw Linda… outside. She wasn’t… herself. She turned into something, Mike. Something inhuman. A snake. A giant snake with glowing red eyes. I’m not making this up.”

Mike stared at her, his face a mixture of disbelief and amusement. “Mom, come on. That’s impossible. You were probably just dreaming or—”

“I wasn’t dreaming!” Agnes cut him off sharply. “I know what I saw. She was moving like a snake, and then… she transformed right before my eyes.”

Mike rubbed the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable. “Mom, you’ve been under a lot of stress. Maybe you’re seeing things. Linda is just a regular girl, okay? She’s the woman I love, and I’m going to marry her.”

Agnes grabbed his arm, her eyes pleading. “Mike, listen to me. There’s something wrong with her. I can feel it. Please, for your own safety, reconsider this marriage. She’s not who she seems.”

Mike pulled his arm away gently. “I respect you, Mom, and I know you mean well. But I’m not a child anymore. I know what I want, and that’s Linda. She’s the woman I’ve been looking for, and nothing is going to change my mind.”

Agnes felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. “Mike, I’m begging you, don’t go through with this.”

But Mike stood up, firm in his decision. “I’ve made up my mind. I love her, and we’re getting married. You’ll see, everything will be fine.” He left the kitchen, leaving Agnes sitting there, helpless and afraid.

Despite Agnes’ warnings, Mike and Linda got married a few weeks later in a small ceremony in the village. His parents were there, but Agnes remained tense throughout the event, her heart heavy with dread. Mike was blissfully unaware, lost in the joy of starting a new chapter with his bride. Linda seemed perfect — attentive, gentle, and affectionate. The first few months of their marriage were smooth, and Agnes began to question if perhaps she had been wrong.

But the unease never completely left her. She kept her distance from Linda, always watching her from the corner of her eye, hoping she wouldn’t witness anything unusual again.

Months passed, and life seemed normal. Mike was happier than he’d ever been, and Linda appeared to be the perfect wife. But then, one night, something changed.

It was past midnight when Mike stirred awake. He instinctively reached for Linda, but his hand met nothing but cool sheets. Confused, he sat up and looked around the dark room. Linda was nowhere to be found. His heart began to race.

“Linda?” he called softly, hoping she had just gone to the bathroom or the kitchen. But there was no answer.

Frowning, Mike got out of bed and slipped on his slippers. He quietly made his way out of the bedroom, peeking into the bathroom first. Empty. The house was quiet, the only sound being the faint ticking of the clock on the wall.

He walked through the hallway and approached the parlor, his hand hesitating on the door. A strange chill ran down his spine. Something didn’t feel right. Slowly, he pushed the door open.

The sight that greeted him froze him in place.

In the middle of the parlor, bathed in the dim light filtering through the window, was a massive snake. Its dark, glossy scales shimmered under the moonlight, and its body coiled tightly on the floor. But the most terrifying part was its eyes — they were glowing, bright red, like burning embers in the darkness. And those eyes were staring directly at him.
