Episode 11

With tears running through my face, I made to leave but Deaconess’s husband suddenly stopped me, he blamed me for Gbenga’s infidelity, he said if I had been a good and faithful wife, my husband wouldn’t have had any cause to cheat. He suddenly brought out a gun which he pointed at me, he said he would kill himself after killing me. He pulled the trigger at me and the next thing I saw was darkness everywhere.

I saw myself coming out of my body and running on a long path, I didn’t stop running till I got to a very beautiful gate, it was made of gold, everything about it was sparkling, I saw an old man walk in through the gate, his garment was so white, I proceeded to enter but an angel suddenly appeared and stopped me. He said I had no place in there because my white garment was soiled, I looked at my white garment and noticed red and black stains all over. He went on to explain that those stains were a result of me abandoning the work Heaven gave me. I was supposed to begin at the age of seventeen but I became pregnant.

Bimpe: Angel of the Most High God, please, give me another chance to rewrite my mistake. Please, don’t let me go to hell.

Angel: The souls attached to your ministry are going astray, a female warrior that was meant to be raised by you has gone deep into prostitution. Now, you are asking for a second chance, what use will the second chance be?

Bimpe: I promise to use this second chance to right my wrong. I will channel my energy into fulfilling my purpose.

Angel: Hmmm, how sure are your bad experiences wouldn’t hinder you from doing the Father’s work?

Bimpe: God will help me to do His work, all I need is just a second chance, please.

The Angel disappeared and I saw my spirit going back into my body. I came back to life and I saw that I was being wheeled to the mortuary. One of the nurses who realized I was vibrating alerted others and I was taken into another ward where I was examined. My parent who had been weeping couldn’t believe their eyes, mom started praising God. I sat on the hospital bed crying, I was the only one that understood why I was crying.

You know, at first, I had to question the Holy Spirit as to why God allowed me to be shot by Deaconess’s husband, I felt God could have prevented me from going to the scene or better still asked me to leave after I spoke with Gbenga’s sister. The Holy Spirit went ahead to explain to me that God allows deep challenges to come to us either to mould us or teach us a deep lesson that would prevent us from making costlier mistakes. He went on to tell me that all I experienced while I was with Gbena, would help me not to fall into the hands of another wrong man. After realizing that, I appreciated God for all I experienced and asked for grace to do things God’s way.

After Gbenga’s death, I got a camera and I began to make videos. First, I started by telling the story of my life and marriage, surprisingly, people began to turn to God. Later on, I was led to form a sisters group where we teach the word of God, share ideas, and pray. Through that group, sisters were being set on fire. Gradually, I found myself doing what God wanted and that gave me satisfaction.

One day, I had the urge to see my daughter, I knew she would have grown into a decent and beautiful young woman because Papa would do a good job in training her well. I called Papa and told him I needed to see my daughter, I decided to go on a Sunday so, I had to go to their church to worship with them. After a two-hour drive, I arrived at the description Papa gave me and as I stepped into the auditorium, I saw my daughter rendering a special number. Right from the entrance, the song pierced me and tears began to drop from my eyes till I got to the seat the usher directed me to. As I sat to listen to her, I knew Ore was no longer an ordinary girl, she had become a girl with the breath of the Lord. Indeed, Papa did a good job, he ensured that a blessing came out of our mistake.
