Mother why?
Part 2
Few months after marrying Timi was a dream come true, I have waited for this for a very long time. My marriage was going smoothly, I finally broke the good news to Timi when I got back from the hospital.
“My love where having a baby”, I said with a smile.
“Oh my God are you serious? Am going to be a father”, Timi said as he carried me up and spinned me around the living room.
We where so happy and he broke the good news to his family and I equally did the same. It didn’t end there, Timi’s mother wanted Bina Timi’s younger sister to stay with us for a while so she could help me out with little house chores.
Well I didn’t see any need for that and besides we could employ a maid to do all of that and not his sister, I really didn’t want and trouble or causing someone discomfort.
But his mother still insisted and I agreed, Timi didn’t like the idea but je agreed to avoid family issues.
Two weeks later Bina came to live with us, she became so uptight with me. I didn’t know why, but the hatred for me grew. When I cook, she will add so much salt to the food when am not in the kitchen, sometimes she will lock the kitchen door and hide the keys making it impossible for to find and I will starve for the whole day till my husband comes back.
I will complain to my husband on what has been happening but he will tell me to be patient, or give his sister time. I couldn’t endure this for long, am pregnant and i don’t need to go through all this stress.
One morning a woke up to blood stains all over my bed mostly the part I was seated. I stood up and saw more blood dripping out of me, I felt so much pain in my lower abdomen. I couldn’t move, I screamed out my husband’s name.
“Timi, Timi, help me, please come”, I screamed.
“He dashed out from the bathroom, looking at me in shock as blood slowly dripping from my body. He got the car ready and too me to the hospital, I was in little pain but I had no idea what was happening.
Few minutes the doctor called us to his office, and broke a very disturbing news.
“Well the report showed something to me, did you manage to eat anything that you are allergic to?” The doctor asked.
“No”, I replied.
“Your womb is only and fit to carry a child but I really don’t understand why you lost this baby”, the doctor said.
Tears rolled down my eyes, I could see the shame and sadnesses written on Timi’s face. I cried like a child knowing that I won’t become a mother, what really happened me? So many thoughts running through my head.
“Am so sorry”, I said to Timi as he hugs me tightly to comfort me.
We went home and I was on bed rest, Timi didn’t go to work he wanted to take care of me that day. I really don’t know what happened to me but I think this Bina girl didn’t something to me, maybe she put something into my food that made me lose this child .
I didn’t want to think much, I called my parents and told them what had happened. My mother burst into tears, she cried her eyes out, my had felt so bad that hr couldn’t say a word. I knew how my father wanted to carry his grand child, my mother has waited fir a longtime to be with me doing Omugwu.
Everytime I get pregnant the baby doesn’t last up to a month, I keep having miscarriages few weeks after finding out that am pregnant. This kept happening till Timi and I got tired, I could see how badly he wants me to carry his child. Please follow Tishania Ginikachi for more stories and tagging, thank you. I prayed, fasted and dis all other stuff to make sure I carry my child successfully but nothing happened.
My next pregnancy was about one month and we where so happy about it but after the whole preparation for our unborn child, I lost the child on my way coming back from the mall. I cried my eyes out, I couldn’t bare this pain I felt anymore. When I broke the news to Timi I could see how bad he felt and how his whole dreams of becoming a father came crumbling to the ground.
I wished things would become better but it became worse. Bina started calling me names with every chance she got, she would even bring her friends to my house to party when my husband was on a business trip. The noise from the living room kept me awake, this went on for some months.
Bina’s friends would even gang up to lock me out of the house.
“Do you know how shameless you are, you can’t even get keep a child. Between you and a barren woman no difference, I don’t even know what my brother sees in you”, she said rolling her eyes in disgust.
“How dare you talk to me like that, what gives you the right to even lock me out my husbands house?” While I was still talk, the next thing I heard was Bam Bam.
Bina slapped on my face twice and spat on me, still locking me out of the house. I couldn’t say anything. I didn’t even have the strength to retaliate, how long will I go on with this in my husband’s house.
I waited outside till my husband arrived, he noticed my face was swollen but I didn’t even want to speak to him. He tried to open the door but it was locked, he looked at me and couldn’t find words to say.
“Baby don’t tell me Bina is inside that house and she locked you out?” He asked.
“Yes she did, and she slapped me calling me barren. I just want to go to my house and stay with my mother for a while and tired of this family nonsense”, I said, Timi looked at me filled with anger and rage.
“Bina, Bina, bina open this door before I send you in piece to mother”, he screamed.
Bina came rushing down and opened the door, she was about to say something when Timi gave her the beating of her life. I tried to stop them but Timi was too strong for me. Bina’s friends quickly ran out of the house beforw Timi will bounce on them.
“Now go inside pack your things and leave my house this minute”, Timi said as he took me inside thw house.
I fekt really bad for Bina and the pains she was going through, Bina became worse after the whole beating. Bina left my house after that incident, I went to my mother’s place to stay for some days. I explained things to my mother, I could see in her eyes the pain she felt for me. She could hold back her tears, I felt bad how things turned out for me but I was happy I have my family to fall back on.
Few days later I came back home and found one of Bina’s friends on my matrimonial bed naked.
