**KELVIN’S POV**

I was in the car,reflecting on what Special told me before we left,  she cried loudly while hugging me.

“Daddy i’m letting you go,but promise me, you will be back soon to take me with you”.

The teachers had admired our father and daughter bond,they seemed nice and caring ,it seemed she would be happy staying with them.

She’s been through alot at this young age and I will do everything to stop any harm from getting to her,this time I will make sure I don’t fail her,I will make her enjoy her childhood like other children out there.

I sighed out loudly.

“Already missing her?”

Walter asked ,I gazed at him then sighed.

“Who wouldn’t miss such an angel,guy I am really lucky to have a daughter like Special, don’t worry  you won’t understand “I replied.

“I hope one day I will have the same interactions and unique bond with my daughter too”.

He chuckled.

 I smiled back and replied.

“You are a great man, I am very sure you will make a nice father”.

“Not all great men do make a nice dad you know,but I will try”.

“Are you married?”I asked curious.

“What…hell no…why do you ask?”

He chuckled.

“Well ..to have a daughter you have to get married first”.

“That’s not my aim now..I  have to enjoy my youth”.

“At 32 yrs?”

“I am actually 35”

“Oh, I am  33, sir,”I replied.

It cracked him up.

“Why suddenly address me with sir because of our age gap?”

“I must say you look younger than your age”I complimented .

“Well with good food and exercise, you will look much better. If you work hard and make a lot of sacrifices, your daughter might not even recognize you when you get back.

I smiled at that ,not because of what he said but when he mentioned my daughter, I visualized her face whenever she wanted to compliment me.

“She once told me dad you are very good looking”.

We both laughed.

“You two are more like lovers though, your chemistry is too much”Walter teased.

“She’s my only love, sadly one idiot  will steal her from me one day,in the future”.

“Not fair to refer to your future inlaw as an idiot”.

We laughed again.

“I am ready to do anything for her to make it,even if it’s to park cow poop”I said with a more serious note.

“Oh please don’t say that,the business I am introducing you to has nothing to do with poop”Walter replied.

“What business are you going to introduce me into,I am sorry but I don’t mean to offend you,I will do anything, even if it’s drugs,I will do it for my daughter”.

“Drugs!!,don’t say that please, what if you get caught ,imagine the fate you will leave your baby girl in,this isn’t drugs okay? Please don’t make such a statement, you forgot how  you encouraged us not to give up or go into drugs back then before you gave us money to start our businesses”.

“I want you to understand how desperate I am to make my daughter proud to have a dad,i have suffered this years but that’s not the issue,seeing her suffer is the worst thing I ever experienced”.

Walter sighed

“I feel you my guy,,but it’s still not an option”.

I nodded slowly

He turned his steering wheel.

“We are here,”he announced.

I looked at the house ,I couldn’t believe  my eyes.

“This place is yours?”

I asked in awe.

He nodded laughing,then he parked at the garage.

We got out of the car, I was still dumbfounded at the over Fabulous building.

“Dont lie to me Walter, this house is not regular ,it’s speaking billions in foreign currency”.

He laughed again.

“Don’t worry soon you will have even something better than this”.

“Amen ooo”

I snapped checking out his car collections.

His maids came and took the stuff we bought into the house.

“This is huge Walter “

I asked him for a handshake as a gesture to compliment his good work.

“You get correct taste”.

He laughed.

“Please Kelvin,you are funny ,let go in,and eat before we start the tour”.

I followed him in still admiring every part of the house.

**SPECIALS’S POV**

My new school is the best thing ever,apart from the nice teachers, I was able to make friends easily too,also I don’t stay in the hostel, I am one of the VIP kids that got a special room. My roommate Cindy is really fun.

And the best thing!!!I can speak to dad anyday,isn’t that amazing? I wrote my letter to dad in my dairy. Everything I experienced here just like I did in my former school, I want to use it and surprise him when we finally get back together.

“Special!!”

My roommate Cindy called out from outside.

“Madam said you should come talk with your dad!!”

I jumped up from the bed ,forgetting the nap I was about to take,I rushed and slammed the door hard in excitement.

“Special!!”Cindy scolded after that loud bang.

“Sorry!!”

I chuckled and ran to the office. Getting there I dried out my sweaty palms and pretended not to be in a hurry.

I opened the door and greeted her,waiting until she asked  me to sit.

She waved her hand at me and pointed to the chair.

“Thanks mah”I whispered politely, and sat down, drumming on my leg impatiently and smiling because of dad’s  voice over  the phone.

“Yeah she here,talk with her”.

I collected the phone and covered my face blushing.

“My Special, daddy’s favorite”Daddy teased over the phone.

“Stop it ,your embarrassing me , Madam is watching”

I said in a whisper.

He laughed out loud..then cleared his throat.

“I am proud of you baby,your Aunt Gina said you outsmarted your classmates so soon,she was impressed “.

“Thanks mah”

I said out to madam, she smiled back.

“I took after you dad”.

I replied to him on the phone.

“Well let’s be honest I am not this smart”.

He coughed.

“Daddy are you okay?”

“Just cold,too much ac”.

“Ac,air conditioner?”

“Yes dear”.

I never experienced one but I am sure it’s the same function with a fan.

“Please don’t put it on when sleeping,I am worried”I replied.

He laughed heartily.

“Don’t be,it’s nothing really,so tell me how is everything? Are you happy there?”

“Very!!”

I snapped excitedly.

“So tell me about it”.

“You remember the barbie diary I asked you to buy for me at shoprite,I wrote everything down in it,I can’t wait for you to read them, but my best moment is being allowed to talk with you ,help me thank madam ,she is really caring”.

“I have been thanking her ,and I will continue”.

Madam gave me a sign.

“Dad I really need my nap for night prep,hope you will take good care of yourself, I miss you ,bye”.

“I love you”.

We both kissed our phone speaker

I happily gave the phone to madam, she continued with the call.

“This una love too much ooo”she teased Dad on the phone, I heard him laugh out loud.

I bowed and left happily ,jogging to my room

**KELVIN’S POV**

So nice to talk with Special almost everyday God will bless Gina for me,I smiled imagining how happy she must be each time we talked.

Then I remembered Sarah,she was like Special sometimes ,then that’s Cynthia who completely won Special’s heart and mine as a plus .

I sighed and waved the thought off my head,I only promised to be a single father and take care of my only child.

Then it is disturbing, really. It’s been a week and Walter kept postponing the day we will go to the company where he works.

I am getting impatient,I want to do something and  get my daughter back as soon as possible. She might be happy there but I am sure she is going to be happier with me.

It’s 5:00 pm,and he told me to freshen up hours ago that we will be leaving for the company, now I guess another day is going with nothing.

I heard footsteps approaching,I stood up excited.

“You are back finally?”

I said with relief,”What happened?”

“Well the traffic was bad,I apologize let’s get going then”.

“Now?,isn’t it a bit late?”I asked in surprise.

“Not the company,a party,one of my company’s business partners is celebrating his birthday”.

I sighed and got back to my seat.

“Come on relax,I promise it will be fine,also i will introduce you to them,their owners of big companies all over Nigeria”.

I sighed again,I guess it’s not unnecessary though,I got to meet other companies’ CEOs and talk about business.

“Alright let me put on something better”.

“You look just fine to me”.

He shrugged.

“Alright then should I get my CV and other documents?”

“Alright ,we might need them,”he agreed.

I walked back to the room and got the files.

**THE VENUE**

it was dark when we arrived there, the house was nothing like I have ever seen even when I was a billionaire, I marveled at the money lavished in this mansion.

“I told you mine is nothing compared to others”.

Walter whispered .

“My guy this is very huge,I swear”I snapped in awe.

The uniform men saluted as we approached the entrance.

They opened the door and we walked in,the interior was a sight to die for.

“Honorable “

Walter hailed a man in a senator suit and black round cap.

The man was talking with some other VIP men, he turned and looked toward us.

I bowed and greeted him too.

“Walter the Don”the man hailed Walter back.

They exchanged handshakes.

Walter waved at the other men ,he exchanged handshakes with them too.

Their handshakes were different from the normal ones I noticed.

“Is he the Kelvin guy “the honorable man asked.

I bowed again in respect,since he is an elder.

“So your father is billionaire Rothstein?”

“Not my father, more like a foster father”.

I replied embarrassed.

“You are welcome to my party,only billionaires are welcome, you will soon become one”.

“Amen”

I smiled back.

“Tell him about my qualifications”

I whispered yo walter.

“Chill guy, let’s party first. Maybe next morning we will talk about that,do you want to  bother him with those files at his birthday party?”

I was stupid though,thank God Walter was smart enough, I didn’t see that coming.

“You are right” I replied.

The honorable ask us to join him at his big table,,the ladies there made me uncomfortable.

I remembered when I was like this,my birthdays would be flooded with strippers and pretty ladies.

I was the youngest ,I guess but I looked older yet those girls whispered stufft to one another, waving at me.

One of them came to me,she went to my back and bent over.

“Need a company?”

She whispered  seductively into my ear,I tried not to stare at the cleavage.

I shook my head.

“Guy, feel free,you are not married anymore are you? Even most married men here are having fun”.

Walter said, caressing the backsides of the girls around him.

“I am sorry, I am rather good at being alone,”I replied.

She was persistent, I gave in and allowed her to glue to me with no interest in touching her like I was supposed to.

“You look really handsome, are you a new member?”

” New member?”

“Are you not a BILLIONAIRE because only billionaires attend this kind of parties”.

“Well i..was but..”

“Ooops ,I am sure you will step up”.

Her words were nice.

I nodded and replied,”Thanks”.

She chuckled

“Its nothing”.

Then she pecked my cheek,I adjusted a bit from her.

I think I drank too much,the party got to my head ,and I rocked the dance floor,its been a while I have had such drinks,if I was with Special I would never,but this new freedom felt good too.

I ended up with the girl in bed, I woke up to a blur image of Walter dressed in a uniform addressing the blurred image of the naked girl getting dressed.

“Here is your money”

I heard Walters’ voice.

I opened my eyes wide to make sure I wasn’t seeing things, then she took the cash from Walter and left.

“Guy, are you awake let’s go”.

He tapped my leg.

I rubbed my eyes.

“But its midnight?”

I yawned.

“Come ….on”he snapped.

I reluctantly stood up put my jacket and followed him.

We got into a room and the things i saw took the sleep off my eyes.

“What’s going on?”

“Shh” Walter whispered.

He was putting on same black and red uniform as those men.

One of them was sitting on a big throne. I recognize him as honorable  but he looked scarier now.

“I hope I am dreaming Walter,what’s this!!”

I was getting pissed ,I don’t need a prophet ,before I understand, What’s going on.

“My friend here has suffered enough, master, please help him,he is ready to do anything to make it”.

“Not anything!”I snapped.

He ignored me.

“Please help him,he’s been through alot and will do anything..”

“Please Walter take me out of here,this is not what you said, I can never..”

The honorable interrupted with a harsh tone.

“Young man,you don’t know where you are,how dare you!! bring in such a weakling to the great karishika”.

He sounded so different this time.

“Sorry my great one please let me talk to him”.

He knelt and bowed  then got back to me

my blood was boiling with anger and fear, Walter a cultist? What happened to the money I gave him for business back then.

“The consequence of going back is death, you are in this place already so you’re in,you see those flashy cars and houses, what do you expect?

 Look ,I sacrificed my mother Kelvin,the person you love most is your daughter ,you are lucky, because you will have another child,many who don’t have anyone sacrifice their manhood.

You have to do it,in years later you will get married and have another daughter, it’s just one sacrifice as your foundation, then your business will flourish,are you not tired of being mocked and begging for feeds,just one sacrifice and you will live happily ever after.
