AUTHOURESS’S POV

Well it happened, Kelvin proposed to his new sweetheart Cynthia,who ofcourse loved him back so much and adores him alot,her only problem is ending up in the same shoes as her mom and repeating history. She wanted no step child,and that got into her badly blinding her from seeing how much this little Special loved and cherished her as her first mom.

Envy,greediness and jealousy for little Special turned Cynthia into a surprising villain.

“Stop shedding those tears and answer me or this cane is going to land on you any moment”.
Cynthia yelled out at the special who knelt in front of her crying and pleading out loudly.

“Mummy I didn’t do it,I promise”.
She swore to her

“You still won’t tell me the truth, my ring can’t disappear like that. I know one thing’s sure you never wanted me to marry your father,you want him all to yourself”.

“No mother,I want you more than I want anything”Special cried

“I am not your mother!It’s driving me crazy ,stop calling me that!”
She landed the cane on special.

Who ran out of the sitting room rubbing her sore back crying loudly.
“I am sorry Mommy, believe me I don’t have any ring”.

“Oh you want to run,don’t worry we will run,don’t stop running ooo!!”
Cynthia slowly removed her slippers and chased after special.

Specials cried more ,she knelt down after crying ceaselessly,her tears flooding the room,wetted the floor.

Cynthia won’t give up ,she wanted to take another step to chase after Special,she slipped and landed with her tummy, blood gushed out.

She felt dizzy and looked up with her eyes half closed.
Special was crying

“Mommy,are you okay?”

Then she saw a strange lady wearing her lost engagement ring , she walked to Special and started consoling Special.

At first Special was still reaching out towards Cynthia then with time she stopped and hugged the strange lady tightly, she stopped sobbing gradually.

Cynthia looked up with wet tears at the lady’s face then blanked out.
All of a sudden she saw her universe was filled with blood.

“Jesus!!”
Cynthia screamed out from her dream.

She could feel the drops of tears from the corner of her eyes.Kelvin was fast to wake up.

“Sweetie what is it?”
He asked, concerned.

Cynthia was left speechless for a minute, hot seat beads clouded on her forehead,as catch her breath.

“I had …a..bad…”
She suddenly stopped as she felt a thick fluid substance in-between her laps then a sharp pain in her abdomen.
She screamed out of fear and terror realizing she lost her baby.

“My baby!!!”
She burst into a loud cry.

Kelvin quickly drew the blanket off her and found the bed stained red.

He could imagine his fiancee’s pain,seeing her in that condition,he hugged Cynthia tightly as she let her soul out in tears.

He cried with her consoling her but it’s not enough
Cynthia vowed to deal with Special as she believed the girl caused her miscarriage.

KELVIN’S POV
Ever Since that night Cynthia is still unable to regain herself,she barely smile or even talk with me like usual
I tried everything to cheer her up but to no avail.
“Kelvin this is an old plan layout,I gave you the new one last week, what sort of nonsense is this!!”
My boss at work shouted at me.

“I’m sorry sir,I must have misplaced it”I replied politely.

“Is that supposed to make me feel better,the supervisors will be here any moment and then what am I supposed to show them this trash?”

“I’m sorry sir”
I replied again regretfully.

“Get out of my sight!!”

I had a lot in my head these days, first Cynthia’s condition and secondly, my daughter’s present situation which is unknown.

Each time I wanted to call the mistress, she never answered my call but fair enough Cynthia said she never had a problem connecting with the mistress, that Special is fine, she spoke with her all the time, so I guess she does talk to special and make her feel better.

I had to rush home and get the documents I misplaced.
I got home Cynthia was seated in the living room,eating fruits.

“Hey sweetie”I greeted and went to kiss her.

She just nodded.

“Emmm no work today?”I asked, see.
She shook her head and said nothing.

“I see”.
I rushed into the room to get the file.

Luckily I found it,and came back to the sitting room.
I kissed Cynthia and rushed back to the company

AUTHOURESS’S POV
Kelvin was a lucky man,he got back to the office and smitted the new plan layout for their next project work.

He also did well in their meeting with the project supervisors.

The men complimented him and told his boss’s he got quite a worker.

Kelvin was talented and smart well his daughter got all that from him.

He came home happy and bought gifts for Cynthia.

He prepared the meal and dished out the food.

“Baby!!”
He walked back to the room and carried Cynthia like a baby in a romantic way to the dining.

“I am not hungry I told you”
She whined ignoring his efforts to make her smile.

“Here eat it first you will like it”.
He offered to feed her,after a third trial, she reluctantly accepted.

“That’s my Queen”.
He teased and they laughed
Half way he was able to make her eat a great portion.

“Sweetie Special’s visiting day is approaching. What do you think we should get for her?”

Cynthia dropped her spoon,then forced a smile.

“You know what’s best,you are her daddy and she’s your precious daughter”Cynthia sneered

What is she sounding this way
“Sweetie, please that is not true”.

“What’s not true? Aren’t you her daddy and is she not your daughter”.
She snapped. “Just let me eat my stand in peace,and mourn my child alone please”she sobbed.

I was confused,really, I can’t say what I did wrong.

“Sweetie,why are you suddenly…”

She dropped her spoon and walked out of the dining room.

I was left speechless and confused, I know I wouldn’t understand her feelings,it must hurt a lot to lose your first baby but he was mine too,and it hurts that I lost my unborn baby.
Why is she making it seem like I don’t care about it because I brought up a discussion about Special’s visitation day.

I sighed and packed up the dishes to the kitchen and went to the room.
I found her crying silently, facing the wall
I hugged her from the back lying beside her.

“We can make him come back again you know,I know how much you are hurting and believe me,it hurts as much too”.

I kissed her neck.
“I love you Cynthia and I can’t bear to watch you continue this way”.

She turned to me and hugged me in tears, I smiled back.

“It’s okay,I promise you this time we will have our baby alive”I whispered.

I had researched about miscarriages and even got some gynecologists contacts for advice.
Cynthia is also into the medical field so I guess this time we will avoid any means of losing our baby.
I kissed her passionately and consoled her

SPECIAL’S POV
I don’t know how to explain my life in the boarding house,my classmates said my parents are the toughest.
By instructing the mistress to flog me at any slight mistake.
It made me more careful and fast about my routines.

But still that doesn’t mean it never hurts
Each time I poured my heart in an exercise book,I used for my dairy, because I want
to keep it for my dad to read after each section when I got home.

Each page was rough and wet with tears
I miss dad So much ,but there’s nothing I can do,he is so far away from me.

I got bullied the other day and instead of the bullied ,I got punished.
(Sobs)If dad was here, I’d love to hug him tightly and point at my offenders.

FRIDAY
11:00AM
Tomorrow is the visiting day,I was never this happy since I got to the school
My friend and bunkie Kamsy can tell too.

I was informed in class that my parents visited. I was so excited that my parents visited earlier before D_day.

I was really overjoyed,I asked our class teacher for permission and rushed to the hostel but getting there it was just mom.

I was really happy,she came, she came for me even without daddy,maybe tomorrow,they will come together to visit.
I went and hugged her tightly.

“I missed you so much Mom”
She and the hostel mistress exchange glances.

“Special come on let’s go”.
I wondered where we were going but I am happy mummy is here.
I jumped into the car happily and we drove off.
