KELVIN’S POV
The next morning, I woke up to warmed the food from yesterday, Special still sleeping, she had a lot to eat yesterday,
She even slept hugging her bobo bootle, I went outside to pour dirty water,then I sighted someone approaching.
It’s Cynthia she’s carrying shopping bags
I quickly washed my hands ,but my clothes were embarrassing. I had to endure it,so I walked to her and helped with the bag.
“Good morning dear”she greeted.
I found out she’s even more beautiful with her natural look.
“Good Morning,you are welcome to our little home,I wasn’t expecting you so soon though”.
She smiled back and sat on the floor where I sprayed the wrapper on.
I used to sit there and wait for the food to be done.
“Let me get you a chair inside”.
“It’s okay, I want to stretch out my legs,”she said sharply.
I was uncomfortable with the decision
I had only one old plastic chair,it’s better than letting her sit on the floor but she insisted.
“Trust me I am okay here”.
I sighed and put off the gas.
“Where is my special?”she demanded.
EPISODE 5KELVIN’S POV
I went back home,still thinking about the surprise kiss she gave me.I won’t lie ,it felt good but awkward.
We just met and I hate that she took the first step.
I am starting to think she wants to get closer to me than to Special.
“Daddy when is she coming back?”
Special asked playing with her doll house.
“I don’t know sweetheart”.
“Aunty Cynthia is sooo nice,I wish she was my mother”.
Special said in a tone that shows she meant every word.
I stared at her in deep thought.What could make her say that, maybe Cynthia fed her mind with b@d stuff against her mom.
“Why did you say so baby?”
“I just feel safe and happy with aunty Cynthia,even if I don’t know what mother love is ,I just think it maybe same feeling, especially when she carried me and sang to me to put me to bed at her place,we played hide and seek and so many more,just like us together”.
I sighed .
“Daddy please let her come tomorrow”Special pleaded.
“Baby she’s a busy woman”.
“I’m sure she will come if you tell her to”
She snapped out.
I glanced at her and rubbed my face.
This is going to be hard,my daughter is starting to get interested in her but I was planning on avoiding her.
Even had the thought of parking out of this place to avoid her at all cost.
AUTHOURESS’S POV
Cynthia was in her office when one of her old friends came in.
“Ada Ada”
“Cee cee”
They both hugged happily.
“How is your family na?”
Ada sat on the seat opposite Cynthia’s and crossed her leg.
“Everyone is fine my dear,how is work?”
“We thank God”.
Cynthia replied smiling back
“So your boyfriend called me the other day……”

“Please I don’t want to talk about him,that ab*ser mtchewww”
Cynthia said tartly with a sneer.
Ada sighed.
“Not him,my dear, I am talking about your new man,you mentioned you have another man”.
“Oh ..Kelvin”.
Cynthia chuckled and blushed uncontrollably.
Ada noticed,”See her,so you are that into him,take it easy,men are not smiling these days”.
“He is different,I promise you and he is so gentle and handsome, seriously I didn’t know when I fell in love with him”.
“Eheee?”
“Don’t worry I will give you the full gust when you visit,I am working now”.
“Cee cee,my good friend!”
“Ada Ada”.
They both laughed out loud.
“So what did the g**t tell you?”
“He said I should plead with you,that he made a costly mistake and just realized,bla bla bla ,just like the last time I settled the grudge between you two.
“He should move on”.
SPECIAL’S POV
Dad went to work,and I was alone indoors, playing,when a knock came on the door.
“Daddy?”
He always warns me never to open up to strangers.
“It’s me, your friend Cynthia”.
I was really happy,I opened the door and hugged her . She bought me gifts as always.
“Where is your daddy?”
“He went to work”.
I replied, diving into the meal she brought for me, hungrily.
“I really wish to have a daughter like you Special”.
“Really I can still be your daughter na”I replied tartly.
She cracked up
“How?”
“If you get married to my dad”.
“Really?, aren’t you pretty smart,but what makes you think your dad will like me?”
She asked.
I swallowed another spoon of rice.
“I don’t know,he really loves mom,but I think he will be happier if he forgets her, sometimes he even cries because of her”.
She hugged me, I felt my eyes wet.
“You are a strong girl Special,God gave your dad,you for a purpose am sure,you re a special gift to him”.
I smiled at her and hugged her tightly
“Thanks Aunty”.
“Now eat up before it gets cold”.
**KELVIN’S POV
I was on my way home when,I almost dropped d#ath,it wasn’t because of starvation or stress from work but I was in shock.
For the first time in 8 years I was able to see Sarah again. She just alighted from her car,a very expressive one and walked into a shopping mall. Even from afar I can tell she’s the one ,no woman got my attention that way.
I was tempted to meet with her, after many battles within myself,I concluded to let her go.
But I couldn’t help it ,so I went on to cross the road to the other side.
I dusted my trousers and tried to appear a little less d##ty, then I glanced at a standby car window to make sure I was okay.
I don’t want to go inside the mall to meet her,what if she embarrasses me? I thought and waited for her outside.
I wonder if she moved on and remarried after these years.
Minutes later she came out with a face shade, her tummy protruding , shopping bags on her hands,a girl of 6_7 yrs old came down from the car.
“Mom, did you get the sweets?”
Another toddler boy was in the car
Hitting the window playfully.
My heart was pounding,she remarried and even had kids,but something isn’t right.
“Go into the car Ella”
She wasn’t looking so happy,maybe because of the pregnancy stress.
I came out of where I was hiding and approached her.
She was putting her stuff in the car boot.
“Good evening”.
I intentionally greeted.
Without looking at me.
“Yes take this and buy something “
She threw a 100 dollar note at me,and went back to enter her car.
She must have been mistaken for a beggar.
“Sarah,”I called.
She stopped and turned, she didn’t say anything, just staring at me from head to toe.
“Kelvin?”
She snapped and removed her sunglasses,her eyes inspecting me.
“Why did you end up like this?All these years ,you still por and wrtch*d,wow!”
“Sarah … please”
I went on my knees.
“Please stop embarrassing me Kelvin stop. I don’t like this,I am happily married ,you should move on,I really thank God I didn’t end up with you, imagine feeding you all these years”.
She spits on the floor.
“Sarah please for the sake of your daughter,she will ask me about you..”.
“Daddy!!!”that’s Special’s voice ,I was dumbfounded.
Sarah could see herself in Special,she was a clone version of her mom.
She got cold feet I guess and entered her car immediately,then stared at us from her side mirror.
Special ran to me and hugged me.
“What are you doing here?”
I asked her, surprised.
“Aunty Cynthia wanted to buy something then I saw you kneeling to that woman, what happened daddy?”
I looked up at Cynthia,she was staring at Sarah’s car curiously.
She walked over to her, thinking I got into a fight with a stranger.
“Good day mah ,please did we damage your car or whatever I will pay for the damages”.
Sarah ignored her and engaged her engine.
That was when Sarah guessed she was right with her prediction.
This woman looks so much like special
“She’s Sarah , Special’s mom?”Sarah asked me.
“My mom?”Special snapped.
I really wish Cynthia didn’t mention that,now she heard it.
Special walked over to her side
Cynthia carried her to see her mom’s face.
Sarah was uncomfortable but forced a smile.
“Looks like you have a new mom now darling”.
Her two kids started disturbing
She scolded them.
“Ella give Tim his capri sonne”.
Special started sobbing.
“Am I not as important as them?did you hate me that much ,I don’t even want you to be my mom anymore”
“Get out of the way please or I will run my wheels over you”.
She horned at me.
I slowly stepped out from the back of her car.
She reversed while Cynthia stood with Special in her arms,they watched as she drove off with speed.
Special cried out loudly
“Why did you bring her here”I yelled at Sarah. I couldn’t hide my anger.
“I..”
“Is this your plan?”
Cynthia arched her brow in annoyance.
“Excuse me Kelvin I was only..”
“Only trying to make things worse,look how sad you made Specal now,why did you tell her ,that the woman’s her mother,to experience rejection?”
“I only wanted the best for Special”.
“Or the best for yourself,is that why you ki$$ed me back then,are you happy she rejected Special so you can never new mother?”
I suddenly regretted my words when i noticed her wet eyes.
“yes! If that is what you want to hear, because I care about Special more than she does,she abandoned a little girl and left her with her poor father while she live her luxurious life without a single conscience!
You think I am desperate for men that’s why I am attracted to you? Then think again,i am not a cheap whe,I only loved you in a way that surprised me too,and Sarah?you always defend her blindly,that is no longer love but stupidity,look how she treated you and her own fle$h and bld as tr**hs, no remorse”.
She put crying Special on the ground.
“It’s nice knowing you Mr Kelvin”
She tried so much to finish her statement without breaking down.
I knew I was harsh on her.
“I am sorry for my a harsh words”.
I apologized immediately.
“Daddy is sorry Aunty Cynthia”special sobbed uncontrollably.
She ran and hugged Cynthia
“Please don’t leave me too”.
Cynthia hesitated then turned and carried Special consoling her.
“Big girls don’t cry, who is daddy’s big girl? hmmm?”
Special pointed at herself while rubbing her eyes with the other hand.
“That’s my girl now let’s go get the things we wanted to buy”.
They headed into the mall, I stood there with my feet cold.
“Daddy Come with us”
Special called out.
