My Wife Could Have Helped! – Evang Kemi Longe

A man got married to his beautiful wife ten years ago. The man was working while the wife had just finished learning tailoring at the time they got married.

Before the wedding, the lady told her husband- to-be that she will love to work for some time before she get married so she can save little money to buy some equipments for her tailoring work.

The man advised that she allow them get married first, and promised to buy her all she will need for her work after they settle down. After the wedding, everything was going smoothly except that the wife could not start her work. In few weeks she got pregnant and both of them were so happy.

God blessed the new family with twin babies both male and female. This made her so busy nursing the babies. Two years after, the babies started school. And the wife was a little free. She discussed her work with her husband again. “Dear, now that the twin are in school I will love to start my tailoring work, even if it is at home” We can’t buy your machines now I have to start my master degree soon, said the man.

As a good wife she agreed. Now she’s a full time house wife. She ran errands for the family and take good care of her husband and kids, nothing was lacking.

Three years gone, the man completed his master’s degree and promotion at work was easy. Now the children were the financial attraction aside other family investments going on in the family. God blessed them with their own house and car and the children were doing well too.

Not that mama Ibeji didn’t go to school but she couldn’t secure a job that was why she learnt tailoring. But then she has no financial help to start her tailoring business. Few years after she got pregnant again. And they added two more children to their family. The family expenses was then on the increase though God was helping them through.

Yet mama Ibeji couldn’t start her work because her husband complained that they children were taking all the money for feeding, clothing and schooling. She can’t also further her career in school. She decided to opt for small loans to do little business but it ended in great loss, that her husband has to be paying the debt at the end of the day.

Now mama Ibeji became frustrated. She felt neglected. The family car was now two, yet she goes about in public transport everyday. Their marriage became war zone. She nags daily and feel unhappy.

Despite that, her husband did nothing than abusing her verbally daily for wasting the family finance on paying debts. And for how unfruitful she has been because she can’t help him in the family finance. He pay school fees alone and provide food for the family all alone.

Few years after, the husband became very ill, and couldn’t do anything. He spent a lot to maintain his health. Money was not enough again in the family. The children were withdrawn from private schools and they couldn’t eat what they like again. Baba Ibeji’s job was terminated for his bad health. Mama Ibeji had to run Helter skelter to provide for the family.

Invest in your wife! Take good care of her! Don’t neglect your wife. When you invest in your wife you will eat the fruits. A lot of men instead envy their wives or are competing with them. Some refuse to help their wive’s visions until it dies.

Help your woman to fulfil her visions and dreams. Your wive’s vision is part of the whole vision you carry. Any vision your wife has is part of the vision God gave you as a man. She only came into your life to fulfil it for you, so God can bless you through her too. You are one! Fulfil it together. You never can tell if that part of your purpose or vision is what will save your family.
