THE EVIL TEDDY Episode 14 – The Mystery Man
“Can we take a walk Mr Michael Abbey .” The Pediatric Psychologist said to Micheal , after he took Lilley from school to the hospital for one of her sessions . They both walked to the garden of the hospital, they sat on bench in the garden , the doctor was an elderly woman , a patch of white hair sat in front of her hairs . She spoke with an American accent .
“Mr Abbey , I am not such a religious person , I believe in science and evidence, but in the course of my long time as a psychologist and Psychiatrist,I’ve come to believe in the supernatural.” She said lighting up a cigar . “I’ve had multiple sessions with your beautiful and intelligent daughter , I think you should get the Teddy bear out of the house, the fact that she’s no longer interested in it , why not give it away ? Lets see if that would solve her issues .” The woman said , Michael Listened attentively .
“Okay ma I’ll do as you said ,I’ll give the Teddy bear away .” He said the woman thanked him,a nurse escorted Lilley to her father’s car .
“Am sorry baby that I doubted you , I’ll remove Eddie from the house tomorrow morning.” Michael said , Lilley wouldn’t say a word to him , her attention was focused outside the car window , tears drop slowly dripped from her eyes .
She refused telling her parents anytime she was attacked by Eddie, it had tried to kill her severally in the bathtub that she stopped bathing there , they arrived the campus of Crownwell American High School , Michael slowed down he wanted to talk with Lilley , but she hurriedly opened the car door and dashed into her class .
He had not sat a minute when she collapsed to the ground , her clothes began to glue to her body like it was on fire ,she began to scream in pains , the white of her eyes turned outside . “Why did you burn me ? I’ll destroy this body , we’re one she’s me , I am her .” Lilley spoke in the hoarse angry voice of Eddie , students scampered out of the class , Lilley kept twisting around the Class like a person struggling to get out of fire.
A call was immediately placed to Michael who had just dropped Lilley off . “Please Mr Abbey return to the school, an emergency just occurred , your attention is needed .” From the tone of Lilley’s teacher , he knew there was trouble , he reversed his black Range Rover on a one way street , and began roaring to Crownwell.
At an intersection, he didn’t see a taxi coming at full speed , he collided against the green Abuja colored taxi, the Mazda salon car spin in a circular Arch , the driver jumped out of the car and began to cry , Michael was confused .
“Oga you have finished me , how am I going feed my children.” Michael was in so much hurry he wanted to be at Lilley’s , the school was calling , the man didn’t let him go breath.
“For the love of God can let me speak mr man!” Michael begged . “I am a car dealer I’ll get you a brand new Mazda , as it is right now , am rushing to my daughters school , she has a medical emergency, can you let me go . this is my Complimentary card , you can drop by at my office tomorrow , my manager will fix this .” Michael said as He jumped into his SUV which had a slight damage to the bumper he left his car at the school gate just too impatient to wait for the security man to open the gate.
He ran up to the principal’s office , he was led into the infirmary where he saw his daughter struggling a restlessly on the small hospital bed , Lilley had a second degree burn all over her body , her skin was coming off .
”Baby daddy is here, I’ll take you to the hospital now .” Michael said , Lilley furiously fought with her father , her eyes were still blank no iris . “Your baby is not here, I am Camila, I’ve taken charge of this body , your wife destroyed my home , I made a new home in her body .” Camila spoke through Lilley Michael stumbled backwards , he couldn’t believe how stupid he had been , to ignore all the signs , Camila didn’t allow him to touch Lilley’s body .
The paramedical team from a nearby Private hospital was called , to the school,they strapped her to the bed , and took her away on the stretcher, Michael left his multi-million Naira Range Rover in front of the school .
“I cannot find a new host,Lilley is now mine you cannot have your sweet little girl back .” Camila said through Lilley, Michael began to cry , he put a call straight to Jessica .
“Baby please came to Avarest hospital right now , Lilley is on admission.” Michael said , Jessica almost died of shock , she carried her two years old son , and rushed out of the house ,Innocent who was sleeping in the boys quarter rushed to the carport.
“Drive fast! ” Lilley instructed her driver, Innocent pushed the vehicle to a breaking point.
Soon they were in the premises of Avarest hospital, Edward had a plaster by the side of his head , she ran to the reception.
“Please my daughter was brought…” The lady receptionist didn’t let her complete her statement . “Follow me madam .” They climbed into the elevator and went to the fourth floor .
Immediately Jessica entered the room , Lilley hissed. “You dirty whore ,I’ll stab you hundred times before I cut you into tiny pieces and feed you to the fishes at Jabi dam .” Lilley struggled to get off the bed, she felt like to gouge out her mother’s eyes.
“I will remove your eyes and feed it to the street dogs you stupid prostitute.” Lilley cursed her mother until Jessica broke into tears , they both knew they had failed their daughter, each time they touched her her skin came off .
Earlier that day Jessica was in the kitchen preparing Edward’s lunch , Edward’s school were on midterm break , she heard Edward’s cry so she ran to see what it was, the boy had fallen from twenty five steps to the ground floor , on the top floor of the step , she saw Eddie lying on the floor , she picked her son and rushed out with him to a nearby clinic were he was treated for the injuries on his head , she didn’t know how Edward had gotten into Lilley’s room to get the Teddy bear , when they returned from the clinic , she dragged the big teddy bear to the back of the house , soaked it with fuel and set it on fire.
What had happened was not that Edward was playing with Eddie, he was going up and down the stairs , doing what toddlers do when Eddie appeared behind him , it tried to throw him over the rails to the ground floor , the little boy struggled to get away , so Eddie pushed him so hard that he tumbled all the way down to the floor .
Camila left the teddy just when Jessica wss was dousing it with cold fuel , her spirit flew to the Mall to posses another copy of the brown Teddy , but there was no big brown teddy on ground , in anger it made the roof of the shop to fall on customers, then it went back into the burning Teddy when she couldn’t take the heat she transferred into Lilley’s body .
Lilley was writhing in pains , pastors were called to pray for her . They prayed till the next day Lilley’s Situation wasn’t improving. Camila left Lilley’s body , she couldn’t stay for too long without her Teddy host , it was what she was used to .She appeared at the factory in New Jersey, where the Teddy’s were being manufactured,she saw a roll of Eddie’s kind of Teddy so he entered into it , and ran out of the factory ,not before killing the security men on ground .
It would take the form of the woman Camila would have been if he father had not killed her . It took Camila four days to arrive Nigeria ,she turned into Eddie and climbed over the fence and went into Lilley’s room .
Lilley’s body began to heal when Camila left her , she was discharged and got back to the mansion, she was resting in her room .
Three days after being discharged from the hospital, she Edward came to Jessica and told her he saw Eddie walking around the corridor , but Jessica thought the toddler was saying rubbish .
After three weeks at home , Lilley had to resume school, Jessica was at home with the chef , she had dropped Edward off at school , when the chef left for the market Eddie came out of Lilley’s room , it went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife , it went to Jessica’s door and knocked.
“Mummy can I please come in ?” Eddie said in Lilley’s voice . “Lilley why did you come back from school so early ?” She said Eddie didn’t say a word it just stepped into the room with knife on his hand .
When Jessica saw it , she was Paralyzed with fear , Eddie laughed , it’s eyes were burning red with anger . “You thought you could dispose off me , you burnt my body Jessy , you thought you could get rid of me?” Eddie the teddy said with a wicked and evil laughter,and a smirk on his face. “You see Jessica , I’ve been around for far so long before you were born, you cannot just dispose off me , I Pick my child , i protect them , they’re mine ,I leave them when I want, I killed the bully girl and her friends, I gave Lilley peace that you and your stupid husband couldn’t give her . whenever their parents try to take them from me , I kill them .” Eddie said , when Jessica saw the knife she was frozen at a spot . “Jessy you hurt me , am going to torture you. Am going to gouge your eyes , and cut your tongue! I’ll burn you alive so you can feel what I felt when you set me on fire .” Eddie said , Jessica had been talking to her husband before Eddie walked in , Michael was saying.
“Hello hello!” But when he heard the stranger voice he went mute , he immediately got into his car and began to drive towards Katamkpe .
“Jesus please save me .” Jessica said , angrily Eddie pounced on her and began to stab her , Jessica screamed as the knife stung her body , she tried to escape from the killer , but Eddie would always jump on her and drag her back , he kept stabbing her all over her body, Jessica was in the pool of her blood , but she refused to give up , she struggled downstairs, the evil Teddy followed her down and continued stabbing her , Jessica kept screaming and crawling away . She was by the main exit door when the whole house went dark , she stop struggling , she could no longer feel the sharp edge of the knife burrow into her body .
Michael parked the car outside the house and rushed in the door was locked from inside , he went to through the kitchen door when he entered into the house, his legs became vegetable, his wife was lying close to the door , immobile, her blood that had left her body had colored the red floor and made it pour red , from the sitting room the blood trail climbed to the first floor .
He picked his limp wife with her arms and head hanging , he put her in his car with tears in his eyes Michael drove to the nearest hospital , hoping against all his fear. that they would be life in her , because she looked very dead and lifeless to him.
