🧞 Twirly 🧞
“Do you think the great king of the Pacific kingdom will just die without a reason, he was the one who killed him. There has never been a golden tailed merman except me. I was the last golden tailed mermaid, and I was killed centuries ago, I should have made this known to you,” she said and the tears in my eyes were surprisedly dry the moment she said her words. I stared at her curiously wanting to know who killed her. I didn’t know why I’m curious about who killed her but I couldn’t help myself.
“Who killed you?” I questioned as i stared at her gloomy face and she stared at me for a while before her face brighten up.
“I was killed by the evil man himself who was rebirthed about 100 years ago, I should have been reborn too but I was stopped by the evil man who turned out to be the late king’s brother, he stopped me from being reborn but I was trapped in my golden trident. I was trapped by him, he could not kill me so he trapped me here, and what he doesn’t know is that I would be dead if I happens not to stay here for too long,” she said and I sighed heavily as I couldn’t understand why she was telling me all this.
“You don’t need to tell me all this, why are you even telling me all this cock and bull story of yours?” I asked angrily and she glared at me angrily. “You would do nothing but to keep your little mouth shut kid, don’t forget you are in my abode,” she shouted angrily as she stamped the staff in her hands on the floor. The whole place shook to it’s foundation the moment the trident came in contact with the floor. I tried to speak but I can only feel my lips moving but there was no sound coming from it. I stared around the the room for a while trying to know the reason I couldn’t talk and I happened to figure it out that she was the one who placed a bond on me.
“He told me that he can find a solution to that because he loved me but I had always refuses his advances and that was because I chose to tell him and then he told me that I can be free but that would be if I’m ready to sacrifice the life of the chosen merman that was supposed to be my anchor and I told him I will but before then he had warned me that he had wanted to kill you before but he changed because I told him about this, and he told me it’s either I chose to die here or for you to die but in either ways you would die so I chose to live, I was not going to do that before but because of what would later happen to you so I later agreed” Liray said with her eyes shimmering with tears, and I sighed heavily as I sniffled in.
I couldn’t believe what would become of me aftet all this, and I knew that she had just chose her life but in either ways I would die. “I’m sorry I have to do this,” I heard her say and she swam toward me with her trident pointed forward.

It’s now months since I have lost everything. I lost everything and there was nothing to do. I should have knew not to let Twirly go but the deed is already done. I knew that even if I was to beg Twirly back for forgiveness I would not be able to regain all that I have acquired all this years. I should have known that this is what is coming my way.
I should have accepted my dad’s offer that merman’s are evil. I can’t believe that Twirly has made me loose all that I have overnight. I should have knew he was a merman anevil one for that. I had tried hard to find a decent job for myself but I couldn’t get one. I knew that sooner than later I would be facing my family who would do all they can to mock me. They would tried initiating me into thier environment and I wouldn’t want that.
I felt tears streaming down my face as I stared at Jenna who laid on the mat which I had spread for her and I was sitted on it. She was lost in thought I knew that she wouldn’t want to believe this was what happened to us. We should have still been living a life of luxury which we got through Twirly. We are the talk of the town with people whispering whenever they sees us. They would always call us names and they would tell us we did money ritual.
I was starting to get pissed off with all this but I had to keep my calm. I felt that things would go worse if it happens to happen more. I had been getting letters from an unknown person and I knew that the person was no other person than my family. I knew that they wanted to mock me and then they would suggest that I be one of their workers. I knew that things would be hard if I don’t accept their offer.
My family was an influential in the whole of the country but what people don’t know Is that they deal with mermaids and merman’s. They made them cry pearls for them and then they sell it off in the market and people had been trying to work for them and they hire them.
My family came from the lineages of hunters. My family were once a hunter who hunted in the bush for many years but that changed centuries ago when one of the hunter’s who hunted in the night saw a lady crying and stranded in the bush. The lady was scared when he saw him and then after a while of talking and getting along and reassuring he was told that she was chased by a group of hunters who wanted to take her as their hostage.
He was shocked and told her she was also a hunter, the lady wanted to run away but he couldn’t and by that time he had decided to save the lady. He took the lady home and it happens that she opened up to him about being a mermaid.

I stared at her angrily as I felt her swam closer to me. I felt the anger in me rise to a perk that I felt like I would explode. I was filled with hate and anger and I had decided that I would never go down without a fight. I would make sure that either Arielle or Maria would be spared after I escape from all this.
“Sorry dear, there is no way that would be able to happen. Haven’t I told you earlier that the both of you will die eventually. I knew that this might have come as a shock to you. You would not be spared even if I’m to die. You should give up and surrender to me to make your death less painful” I heard her whispered in my ear and I turned to look at where she was before but I couldn’t find anything about it. It was strange and I turned to look at the direction where I had heard the whisper from.
I turned to the direction and I saw her close to me and I glared at her hatefully. I was filled with hatred that I could tell that if I don’t unleash it on her that I would die instantly. I would not let her words touch me. I knew that they were all a cunny so I knew I had to behave normally. I would make sure that I leave some wounds on her body before leaving.
I then regret my actions. I regret ever letting my parents bring me to the river that day. I felt like I had made the biggest mistake of my life.
“I will make you all pay for this, you won’t be spared either. I would make sure I extract a little potion of blood from you. You might be in the best condition while I’m not but I ain’t afraid of you, I’m pretty sure that I can do anything that I want. I may not have any of my previous powers but I know that what I knew can never be taken away from me.
“You don’t have to worry dear, I can also check your memory for that, I can do anything I want with you,” she boasted and I smirked at her. I knew that she might have want to threaten me with this but I’m sure that even if she was to have all my memory there is one thing she cannot steal from me which happens to be my experience.
I knew that she was inexperienced but I’m experienced. I’m happy that she may want to use that against me but what she don’t know is that I have ways to tackle with her even if she happens access my memory. “You don’t have to feel victorious or proud, I have access to my powers and the both of them is what I want. I would use both against you,” she says and I felt my heart stop beating at that instant. I felt my whole body system went numb.
