That,there is pladge on my head,that my mom made a promise to her mother that I will be of her service anytime she needs me…(the is the reason) As the only child of my parents,I heard that my mom found it difficult to conceive,it took them 7 years after marriage before I was born.my Dad didn’t know why,it was my Mom that made that took the bold step,she went to the river and cried to the goddess of the river to give her a child.that how I was born.

The promise my mom made was that I will be her servant (Eze nwoke.in Igbo language), when Lucy told me this I was not frightened, because I thought it one of her way of getting my attention,she asked me if I didn’t hear what she said ,I told her I heard her,is that why you want to see me?I asked,she said, for now yes, we had a change of topic…

When I got home that evening my mom was not happy with me, because she had told me not to go to the stream or river alone,but anytime she brings this topic up I usually lied that I don’t go alone,that I use to go with my friend,then she asked me who this my friend was ,that she had not seen her before.

I told her that she is not from our land ,but we usually see’s ourselves in the river.That when she asked “is it LUCY ” i was dumbfounded because I didn’t expect her to know who Lucy was.That when she started crying and told me not to speak or go close to Lucy again,but she didn’t that Lucy had told me everything..Lucy was the one that answers my mom prayer not her mom.she didn’t know that time was fast Approaching..

A day came,I and my Dad was sitting in front of our house, behold who did I see coming to our house”My Aunty” she came to beg us for assistance,left for me I will not help them cause they where cruel to me but my parents out of mercy helped them out.but before they went home that day they told my Dad that am the cause of their misfortune because they were cruel to me.that there is something secret about me…

River Goddess Episode 6

They told my parents that am the cause of their predicament, because they were cruel to me.my Dad did not gave them the audience cause he saw it as false accusation,it was only my mom that knows what her sister was saying is the true.

A day came,my mom and I went to the river to wash our clothes,on our way going we saw a stranger (lady) that is coming from the river path, I greeted her but my mom didn’t greet her,my greetings was what got the lady attention,”The Time is Near”she said.my mom didn’t give any response to that statement,I asked her “what time it’s she talking about”my mom didn’t answer.

When we got to the river there is no one there , everywhere was silent, apart from the sound of the birds.I was busy bringing out the dirty clothes from the bath,my mom was fetching water from the river, something happened, instead of my mom to come out from the river alone she came out with Lucy and her family members.though they are not strangers to me, cause we had ones had an encounter.

They where speaking another language entirely with my mom,that when I knew that my mom was one of them and since she is one of them that makes me one of them as well.after they finish speaking the only thing I heard was when my mom told them to give her more time that am not prepared for this journey they want me to embark on.

That was when Lucy told her that they will get me prepared,that she should not forget the promise she made before they gave me to her,that this is the time for me to answer my ancient destiny call.my mom looked at me and cried bitterly, cause she don’t know what to tell me dad ,if I didn’t return home with her.

She asked them to gave her space to tell me who am truly was,they gave her one month to do so,if not they will take my by death if I didn’t answer my call.for me I was asking myself what call,but I didn’t know that the call was a lifetime call,after them they all goes back to the river accept Lucy.

River Goddess Episode 7

They gave my mom one month to decide.Flash back.in the year 1984,A woman was asked to go to the world to study the ways of men,but instead of her to carryout the mission she falls in love with human.

Her people tried to stop her but she didn’t listen,they had to let her be, but they had to transfer all her gift to her unborn children, unfortunately she was unable to give the man she love a child, that when she retress her way by going back to her people to asked them to help her out by giving her a male child.

That if they can allow her to have a child that the child will render the service she didn’t render to them.that when they reconsider her.by giving her a male child. They told her that they won’t take it lightly with her if she refuse to put me in their ways,that she should not forget that am a child of an ancient destiny.

The child they gave her has a destiny to fulfill with Lucy because Lucy was his betrothed,she have to marry Lucy when he clock 18 and next .he is a marine boy that had to rule his world and the marine world together with Lucy

My mom will die when I clock 18 cause that was the agreement she had with her people.they had to punished her with hardship because she didn’t do what they asked her to do,the only reason they blessed her was me.cause I was always coming to them.

Lucy had always been with me since I was a child, because we are destined to be together forever.there was a day when am still living with my parents before I left home,I saw Lucy with my mom talking at the backyard,due to my innocent mind I didn’t have anything in mind without knowing that ,that when Lucy was trying to no me well.

Present life: when my mom get home she told my dad that she want to discuss something with him,that she want her to keep his calm let her explain things to him.My mom narrate everything to him how it started and how it will end.my Dad was dumbfounded.
