Why will you be talking bad about me to my husband? What do you stand to gain? Tracy asked with a teary voice looking betrayed.
Dorathy covered her face in shame. But she found some courage to cover herself.
Did I tell any lie?
Tell me if any of what I said is a lie?
Doesn’t Dera sleep in the storage or don’t you send her to go sell oranges instead of going to school. Dorathy asked Tracy giving her a look.
Tracy felt broken, she couldn't answer the questions Dorathy had asked her because she knew they were true. She had maltreated Dera but it was Dorathy who had suggested to her that she should send Dera to start hawking things around. It was still same Dorathy that pushed her to make Dera sleep in the storage. Tracy looked at Dorathy, then her husband. Tears ran down her cheeks.
Kennedy couldn't utter any word, the color of his eyes had turned to red. He just stood there fixed looking at his wife and her friend.‘
It's late already Dera, we will talk about it tomorrow okay? You need your rest Peter said with a smile. Go to bed Dera I still have things to discuss with your mummy. Dera nodded her head and went back towards her room holding her head.
We are not going to give her back ...Calling Kennedy will only complicate issues for us.
She is ours now to keep Honey…
I think God brought her back to you for us to keep her. I can’t let you risk your life or profession trying to return Dera to her birth mother.
Doctor Eunice tried to convince Peter to give the child back to Kennedy to be on the safer lane but Peter who is mostly strict with his decisions had made up his mind to keep Dera.
It was morning already, Dera had woken up. Doctor Eunice got her ready for school. Dera asked doctor Eunice if she can call her father because he would be worried about her. Doctor Eunice was about to answer when Peter walked in.
Peter asked her for her father's number and she called it out. He told Dera he was going to call her father when he gets to the office. Doctor Eunice was already done getting Dera ready for school and Peter took Dera to school.
It was noon and Doctor Eunice was in her office. She was working when someone knocked on her door.
Come in doctor Eunice said still doing what she was doing. Someone opened the door and walked in. Doctor Eunice looked up and got shocked as madam Sonia came walking in towards her.
Good afternoon Doctor, Madam Sonia greeted. Good afternoon Ma’am have a sit doctor Eunice said pointing at the chair in front of her.
Madam Sonia sat down..I know you are very busy doctor and I haven’t come to take your time, I just need a favour from you.. Sonia said calmly.
What can I do for you ma? Doctor Eunice asked.
Can you let me spend some time with the little girl you saved from accident!? Madam Sonia asked.
Doctor Eunice shook her head from not to right. I don't think so ma, she has regained her memory and will be going back to her real parents soon.
Madam Sonia couldn't understand herself when a tear dropped down her cheeks hearing what doctor Eunice just said. Doctor Eunice felt remorseful separating a mother from her child.
It's okay ma, I know you have great plans for the little girl, I will let you have sometime with her. Just give me a few minutes and I'll be done. Doctor Eunice didn't actually know when she said all those. She had just put her life, career and the life of Dera at risk.
That was not what she had agreed with Peter. They both decided to keep the child. Now she can't bring herself to tell her husband what she had agreed to. He is really going to be mad at her.
Doctor Eunice took a while then she was done with what she was doing. Both she and madam Sonia left to go bring Dera from school. Madam Sonia was so happy seeing Dera. She couldn't explain why but she flung her arms open and hugged Dera.
Doctor Eunice told madam Sonia that she had two hours to spend with Dera and bring her back to her in the hospital. Madam Sonia was so happy, she thanked doctor Eunice and left with Dera in her car.
Doctor Eunice had a mixed feeling of fear and happiness. She just hopes nothing goes wrong and Dera comes back to her safely. *..
Madam Sonia couldn't give reasons why she was so happy being with Dera. She decided to take her to her work place. People who saw the way madam acted with Dera kept asking her if she had adopted a daughter.
Time was ticking and Madam Sonia had limited time to spend with Dera.She thought it wise to take Dera to Dermian for him to see her too. When she got to Dermian’s office, she saw Dermian was discussing with his brother Kelvin.
Good afternoon Uncle Dera greeted when she entered..
This is the girl I was telling you about Sonia said to Dermian with a smile.
Come over her pretty girl Dermian said making signs to Dera. Dera walked to him slowly.
What is your name Dermian asked ..
My name is Dera...Tell me Dera, how old are you?
I am 10years old Dera answered again.
Sonnie... seems like you're not the only one feeling this child is peculiar. I think we should adopt her..
What do you think Kelvin? Dermian asked looking at his brother. How can you adopt a child you know nothing about Kelvin asked.
We don't know much about her but I think Doctor.....What’s that her name again Sonnie Dermian asked!!!.

It can't be what he is thinking...If he finds out Dera was the child he had asked Eunice to kill, he was going to kill both her and Dera himself.
