EPISODE THIRTEEN.
MY HUSBAND’S SECOND WIFE
(That which you seek, you shall find in abundance)

He saw his wife smiling in another man’s arms.
Solomon closed his eyes and opened them again. He blinked. Blinked twice. Then laughed it off.

Maybe it’s a bad dream, he thought.
He couldn’t believe how much his dreams were starting to look like reality. But when he saw Winnie take the man by the hand and lead the hot, sexy guy into her house, he couldn’t take it anymore. He staggered forward.

Just as they were about to step inside, he shouted, “Hey! Stop there! Stop there, you… you… you thief!”
He blurted it out, unable to find the right words at that moment. Written by Authoress Winnie. B. Onuh.

Hearing his voice, Winnie and Christian paused. They turned and looked at him, eyebrows raised.

“He’s your ex-husband, I presume?” Christian whispered to Winnie, and she gave a small nod.

“You’re right,” she said with a smirk. “He once told me no man would ever want a second-hand, rated woman. And even if I did find someone, they’d only be after my body or money.”

“Well, rest assured—I’m certainly not here for either,” Christian replied with a smile. “I already have women with banging bodies and more than enough money.”

He kept staring at Solomon, who was still staggering.
Instead of feeling angry or threatened, Christian felt a bit sorry for him. Not out of pity, but because Solomon’s foolishness was truly unbelievable.
Why try to destroy a woman with words just because you’re scared other men will want her?
Why try to break her confidence and make her believe no one else would desire her?

Christian pitied men like that.
Because once a woman finds her worth and breaks free, it’s over for such men. And in Solomon’s case, he would make sure the man regretted every single thing he did to Winnie. Written by Authoress Winnie. B . Onuh.

Suddenly, Winnie turned to him and asked,
“What happened to my body? Is it that bad… that you don’t want it?”

Christian looked at her—completely speechless.

“But you just said it’s not real, so I was only trying to follow your rules and not cross any boundaries.”

Winnie frowned in displeasure.
“I know that, but can’t you at least pretend and say something nice? Why would you say you’re not here for my body?”

Her words brought a mischievous smile to Christian’s face. He teased,
“Believe me, baby girl—your body is what keeps me up all night. I couldn’t sleep at all… You’re all I could think about.”

“So you’re saying all you care about is sleeping with me? Is that why you’re here?” Winnie rolled her eyes at him.

Once again, Christian was left speechless.
He thought he’d figured women out. But standing here with this woman, he realized he actually knew nothing about them—or their unpredictable tantrums.

“I give up. You win, mama,” he muttered with a deep chuckle.

Just then, Solomon reached them.

“You thief! What are you doing with my wife?!” he thundered. “Is this how you go around stealing other people’s wives?”

“What—” Winnie began, but Christian gently stopped her with a smile.

“Don’t stress yourself, babe. Leave the talking to the men.” He winked at her before turning to face Solomon.

“I don’t believe we’ve met before, Mr. Solomon,” he said with calm politeness. “I’m Christian—your ex-wife’s new man.” Written by Authoress Winnie. B. Onuh.

He maintained his smile despite the fiery glare Solomon was giving him.

“I just thought I should introduce myself,” he added smoothly, “so next time, you won’t call me a thief. Though, in a way, you’re not entirely wrong—because I am here to steal the heart of this angel.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Solomon began trembling with rage.

He was green with envy—so overwhelmed by jealousy that he could barely think straight.

The sight of Christian’s hand resting on Winnie’s waist was driving him mad, and hearing him call himself Winnie’s man made him want to break something.

“You hired a man to make me jealous? Is that how low you’ve sunk, Winnie?!” Solomon barked angrily.

Winnie scoffed lightly.

“Did you see the car he came in with? In all your years of working with the government, you couldn’t afford that car—and my man here owns three of them. So tell me, where exactly would I get the kind of money to hire someone like him?”

At the mention of the car, Solomon finally turned to get a proper look. He stared at it longer than before.
If this was the car he thought it was, then Winnie definitely didn’t have the means to afford such luxury.
The only way she could have gotten this man must be with her body, he concluded. That thought alone made him let out a bitter, mocking laugh.

“So you’ve started sleeping around now? How many times did you give him your body for him to agree to act as your boyfriend? Winnie, I can’t believe you’ve turned into a h*rlot!”

“Oh, now you believe I do have a body capable of attracting top-tier men?” Winnie smirked wickedly. “So… are you finally admitting it?”

Solomon’s mouth clamped shut as her words hit him right where it hurt.
He had nothing left to say—just stood there, staring like a complete fool.

“If you’ve realized it now, then get out!” Winnie snapped, linking her hand with Christian’s.

Christian, who had been silently watching the whole scene unfold, was both amused and impressed by Winnie’s fire.

He’d seen many women in situations like this, and he could always tell when a woman was truly independent—one who didn’t need a man to fight her battles or let her circumstances define her.

Sure, he found her actions a bit dramatic… maybe even childish.
But damn, he was enjoying every second of it.

Especially when she turned to him and said with pride—

“Babe, let’s go.”

“It was nice meeting you, Mr. Solomon. I’ll definitely care for Winnie better than you ever did,” Christian said with a calm smile as Winnie led him inside.

Solomon stood frozen, watching them disappear into the house. But the moment the door closed behind them, something snapped.

He couldn’t take it.

Suddenly, he realized that pretending to be strong would only push Winnie further away.
So, in desperation, he rushed to the door, banging on it as he began to plead.

“Baby… Baby, please—I still love you! Don’t forget how we started, Winnie! That man is only here to deceive you, nothing else. I know you still love me. I’m ready to throw every other woman away just for you!”

His voice cracked with emotion.

“I know I made mistakes, but everyone deserves a second chance! I swear, I’ll never mess up again. Don’t let a stranger come between a husband and wife…”

Inside, Christian was already making himself at home, perching comfortably on the kitchen counter. He glanced at Winnie with a smirk.

“Your husband is quite the drama king,” he said casually.

Winnie smiled faintly and corrected him after a brief pause.

Ex-husband. I’m never getting back with him again. Do you know how many times I wanted to leave during my last pregnancy? But because I kept listening to that nonsense called begging, my baby had to pay the price for my stupidity.”

Her smile faded into something sadder as she reached for an egg in the cupboard.

“The doctor said it could’ve been me… but my baby took the fall instead. My baby gave me a second chance at life—and I’m not wasting it on that monster ever again.”

There was a brief silence before Christian suddenly suggested, “Why don’t we eat out?”

Winnie raised her brows in surprise. “But I’ve already started breaking the eggs.”

“You can keep them in the fridge—they won’t spoil,” he replied, gently taking her hands in his. “I don’t like the energy here. And if your baby gave you another chance at life, then you need to spend it living. So come on, let’s go.” Written by Authoress Winnie. B. Onuh.

With a soft, affectionate smile, he added, “Are you in?”

Winnie stared down at their entwined hands for a moment. And just like that, it hit her.
She hadn’t truly lived in a long time.
Her heart had been heavy, weighed down by everything she endured.
But being given a second chance was a miracle—and she couldn’t afford to waste it.

Lifting her eyes to meet his, she nodded with newfound determination.

“Let’s do this.”

“Good. You’ve made the right choice, ma’am,” Christian said, making an exaggerated, playful bow that made Winnie burst into laughter.

“How about I change into something more presentable?” she suggested.

Christian glanced at her bum shorts and black singlet, then casually took off his white shirt and draped it over her shoulders.

“This is perfect.”

Winnie blushed, her eyes lingering on his well-defined abs visible beneath the white singlet he still wore. But then a thought crossed her mind—other women would see this too. Acting on impulse, she picked up her white fur neck scarf and placed it gently over his shoulder.

“This is also perfect.”

They both laughed as they stepped outside—only to find Solomon asleep, slumped against her front door.

Without giving him a second glance, they walked past him. But Winnie suddenly paused, pulled out her phone, and dialed a number.

When the line connected, she spoke calmly into the receiver. Written by Authoress Winnie. B. Onuh.

“Hey, Fruitful Wife, your package is at my doorstep. Come pick him up. And make sure to hold him with a strong leash next time—he’s no longer allowed near my door.”

She ended the call, feeling lighter, freer. Then she turned to Christian, who was already holding the car door open with a smile.
She smiled back and muttered a soft, “Thanks,” before stepping in. Written by Authoress Winnie. B. Onuh.

Together, they drove off, leaving the past exactly where it belonged—behind.

Meanwhile, Anita had been watching everything unfold from her bedroom window. When she got the call from Winnie, rage surged through her. In one swift motion, she smashed her phone against the wall.

She couldn’t believe she’d fought so hard for a monster of a man. Written by Authoress Winnie . B . Onuh.

And now, she couldn’t even leave—because the pregnancy she’d been praying for had finally come, and according to the doctor, their agreement was over.

She was stuck with him. For real.
