…” What?!” I exclaimed.
“Yes please, you have to relocate from this village as soon as possible.” Neon said.
“To which of the neighboring villages?” I asked.
“The one under the protection of the deity. You must also wear this necklace around your neck at all times, and ensure you don’t remove it for any reason “
“The village under the protection of the deity? I am not one of them so how do I survive there?”
“The King is my friend and I already informed him of your coming ” Neon said.
I looked at Neon and I shook my head laughing.
“So, why do you suddenly care about my wellbeing?” I asked with a smile.
“Look Dora, I still care about you and I want you to be safe with this pregnancy. Neni and her grandmother will be back for you as soon as they find out that you didn’t die”
I breathed out with head bowed, and then I looked up.
“Ok, I need to go home and inform my stepmother. I can’t just leave this village like that without informing anyone “
At this point the little girl who had been staring at both of us voiced out all of a sudden.
“I don’t understand you. Why are you always like this? Why are you acting as if your life isn’t precious to you? You want to go and inform your stepmother so that when those people go into the village to look for you, your stepmother will now tell them where you are or what exactly is your plan?”
I sighed looking at both of them…
“Ok then, I am in” I said.
“So, should I leave now? I need to leave now cos the village is quite far from here ” I said.

“You don’t have to walk there you know ” He said and then turned to the little girl.
“Please, take her there” He said to her.
The little girl then walked slowly to me.
“Give me your hand” She said and I quickly gave her my hand.
We were about to leave when we heard a deep voice from the wind.
“How dare you?!” The voice quizzed and all of a sudden, there Neni’s grandmother stood with Neni behind her, both keeping straight faces.
“Go, now!” Neon yelled and almost immediately, I found myself at the entrance of the village under the protection of the deity, with the little girl beside me.
There were palm fronds tied from one tree to the other across the road leading into the village.
“How did you do that?” I asked her, stunned. But she smiled and asked us to go into the village.
As soon as we passed the palm fronds , now stepping into the village, Neni’s grandmother appeared before the entrance raging in @nger.
“Let’s run!” I said to the little girl as I was ready to sprint out of there.
“No need” She said staring at the old woman who was there raging and moving in a circular motion, and speaking in a language that I didn’t understand.
“What?! Let’s get out of here before she comes”
“Like I said, no need” The little girl repeated again.
“But, why?” I probed as I was already trembling in fear.
“This village is protected by the strongest deity in all the kingdoms. No one with ev!l intentions crosses the palm fronds tied there. Her heart is not pure, that’s why she can’t come in” Said the little girl.
“Wow, I have never heard of this all my life” I said looking around.
“Let’s go ” The little girl said and we turned around to leave into the village.
“You must surely pay for this!” The old woman screamed in a thunderous tone but we ignored her and proceeded.
We arrived the village and then I asked the little girl where exactly we were going from there and she suggested that we first go to the palace.
As soon as the King set his eyes on us, he stood up from his throne walking towards us. I was kind of scared and surprised at the same time, and I whispered to the little girl.
“What’s going on?”
“Just be quiet ” The little girl replied…
