**Happily Ever after**

Hugo didn’t sleep a wink on his way to Brazil because he was filled with happiness, therefore, he couldn’t wait to get to Brazil and meet Tessie and hear out how she carried out the smart operation that ended up outsmarting Larissa that he believed to be the smartest.

Getting to Brazil, Hugo was surprised to see Las Flakes with Marcos waiting for him at the airport in the Rolls Royce Phantom to take him home. He was so happy seeing them, so he rushed at them and filled his two arms with embracing them, with tears of joy in his eyes. He was short of words and couldn’t say a word.

“Break it, break it,” Las Flakes said and patted gently on his back.

“Well, I think one thing will interest you,” Marcos said smiling proudly for being the first to break the impending news but Las Flakes prodded him trying to silence him.

“And what could that be?” Hugo asked and entered the exotic car while Las Flakes and Marcos joined, “but where are we heading to?” he asked to be sure of where to meet Tessie.

“It’s a surprise, Marcos,” Las Flakes said to the DEA agent and chuckled, “Guess you’re trying to be a gossip boy. Make it a surprise to Hugo,”

Hugo smiled and tried to guess what the surprise could be but bereft of words other than being overtaken by unexplainable happiness that flared around him.

“Fine, a surprise then,” Marcos said and crossed his legs, pulled out the tray, and poured out some wine he brought from the refrigerator. “This is Glenfiddich 26 years strong whisky,”

“Exactly what my body needs,” Hugo voiced and collected a glass of the whisky and sipped, “wow, I’m used to 18 years but not 26 years. Very expensive for the big boys,” he added as he enjoyed the whisky, “It was really cold up there in the aircraft even though I enjoyed the wintry air conditioner but downing this whisky helps to create solace,”

“I’m amazed to think that we’re no more in business,” Las Flakes said, smiled nostalgically, and wiped the tear announcing its arrival in her eyes. “All my life has been about drug business,” she added and pouted out of ruefulness.

Marcos looked at her and heaved a sigh, “But I’m your boyfriend and a DEA agent. So you see. If Hugo could who’s the CEO could follow my advice and now enjoying a free life, you can do same too,”

Hugo looked at Flakes, smiled, and said: “The greatest joy is when you sleep at night without thinking about who to kill or being afraid or paranoid about how tomorrow is going to look like. I suggest you just relax, accept the inevitable, and have a peaceful life that I’m already enjoying. My life is messy because of this business I started as young as fifteen years but now, I’m ready to fix my mistakes and right my wrongs,”

Marcos was so proud of Hugo when he heard him say that. He raised his wine and had a toast with him, and then poured out some wine in a glass cup for Las Flakes. “Baby,” he called as he handed over the glass of whisky to Las Flakes, “If you go back into dealing drugs, how will our children be having a dad working for the DEA and harbouring a mom who is working against the law? The dots can’t connect, just like mixing milk with oil. They can mix because the oil must settle on top while milk below,”

Las Flakes was so surprised hearing that because Marcos had never proposed marriage to her but talked like he already did.

Hugo was so surprised too, so he looked at two of them and said: “Seems I’m missing something,”

Flakes shrugged and said: “I’m as surprised as you do because the last time I tried to had sex with him he refused because of a call he got from office. I felt mad because I was so wet and ready for him. So, he never proposed to me and…”

“Gulp down your drink first, then we can talk about it,” Marcos said and watched Las Flakes emptying the glass of whisky.

As Las Flakes got to bottom of the drink and felt an object in it, and then thrust her finger in her mouth and brought it out, she was wowed seeing it was an engagement ring. “A ring?” she said and smiled, “Now I see you like playing pranks,”

Marcos knelt before her immediately, collected the drink, and said: “Even though we met at the rough ends of life and I may not be the best guy to do this, but I wish to seek your consent to propose marriage to you as I…”

“I accept, yes!” Las Flakes said abruptly without waiting for the long sermon and then presented her finger while Hugo was full of smiles as he witnessed the memorable moment between the would-be couple.

Marcos fixed the ring on her finger and then pulled her into a prolonged kiss as they got lost in their worlds.

After a couple of minutes, Hugo cleared his throat to make the love birds know that he was still an audience observing the romantic moment. “I hope you guys know I’m still here, so you should keep the humping part until you get home. Thanks,”

“Ha-ha,” They chorused laughter while the driver pulled over when they got to their destination.

“Now, the surprise,” Marcos said and made a phone call, even though Hugo tried to eavesdrop but couldn’t understand who he was calling or the reason for doing that.

Soon after the call, the door of the car opened, making Hugo so surprised to see lots of security guards outside.

“Hey, am I being arrested?” Hugo asked feeling a bit uncomfortable. “What is happening here, Marcos?”

“Marcos alighted with Las Flakes smiling while Hugo remained confused. In a jiffy, the DEA agents dragged Larissa and forced her into the car, and then jammed the door to allow the duo to have some chitchat.

“Now, that’s the surprise,” the driver said and alighted too, leaving just Hugo and Larissa who were both surprised seeing each other.

Even though they were left alone, they were being monitored to ensure that none fights the order.

Hugo was about to talk when the door was opened by Marcos who thrust his head into the car and said: “I assured my team that you’d be gentle but if you don’t trust yourself with that calmness and gentility, we may need to let two cops flank you guys to avoid mistakes. What’s your decision, Mr. Hugo Fuentes?”

Looking intently at Larissa and then at Marcos, he took a deep breath and said: “I feel like killing this bitch right now but I’ll not disappoint you. Allow us to be. I can handle it,”

Marcos wasn’t convinced, so he waited a bit to be assured of Hugo’s cooperation.

“He won’t do anything funny or try to be a hero since he’s promised you that,” Larissa said in a sonorous voice as she felt uncomfortable with the hand and leg cuffs that got her restrained.

Marcos shrugged and shut the door and waited by the door in case things get messy.

There were some minutes of silence as they kept looking at each other; Hugo was filled with rage as he tried to control his anger and actions to conform with his promise to be gentle.

After a long stare, Larissa said: “I’d been the devil in sheep’s clothing and never realised what it means to hurt someone until now that I set my eyes on you,”

“Spare me the details, whore,” Hugo blurted and clenched his teeth angrily, “When a criminal is tamed, he tries to be sober and humane but once he’s freed, the tiger in him resurfaces. The only song that keeps me discouraged from killing you right now and facing the consequence is ‘let it be’ by…”

“The Beatles,” Larissa entered, “I love the song too but it couldn’t help me when I lost my dad who groomed me to this monster I am today. When he gave me the assignment to monitor you in high school, I refused the offer because I felt so kind and tender for you and couldn’t hurt you; the reason why I decided to make myself hard for you to get. I knew I was your distraction then but I didn’t want to heed to my dad’s advice but he was still my dad, so I later gave in. Lucas and I are not blood; I was adopted when I was seven years old in the foster home,”

Even though Hugo didn’t want to listen to what he considered gibberish, he couldn’t help but allow himself to be led by curiosity that made him keep listening with rapt attention.

“Go ahead woman, even though I’m not interested in the history,” Hugo snarled and took a sip of the whisky and then poured out some in the second glass and handed over to Larissa who collected using her two hands since the hands were bound with cuffs.

“Thanks,” she said as she collected the drink but wasn’t sure that it wasn’t poisoned, so she paused and kept looking at Hugo whose anger kept pulsating his heart. After a while of feeling uneasy about the contents of the drink, she took a sip and said: “What more am I going to lose? Nothing,”

“But it’s poisoned,” Hugo said looking so flushed with anger, “Sorry; I couldn’t keep my promise to Marcos. The Hugo you knew years back had been killed by your wickedness so don’t claim that you still know who I am,”

Instead of entertaining fears, Larissa heaved a sigh of relief and muttered gloomily: “How much time do I have left before it starts reacting in me,”

“Ten minutes tops,” Hugo said and gnashed his teeth angrily, “You already know that I’d never rest until I spit on your grave, so I suggest you tell the cops what just happened because I’m now satisfied that you’re going down, so let me go down with you. If I’d be executed for killing you, at least we can meet in hell to continue the fight and…”

“Say no more,” Larissa shushed him, “I’m okay with this, but I won’t want you to go in for it. I will tell them that I took a potion and you tried to stop me but couldn’t. I will do it before it starts reacting so that I could still talk, but I still wish to complete my confessions before I die,”

Hugo didn’t say anything but kept looking angrily at her and trying not to strangle her to death.

“My dad met me as a street fighter at that young age,” Larissa continued as Hugo inadvertently listened, “I used to beat up most boys; even those older and more mature than I was. My dad saw some potential in me. That was why he adopted me and started nurturing me into a sexy but dangerous weapon.

“I hate to hear that word ‘Love’, so don’t even mention it before I kill you with my bare hands,” Hugo said and grabbed her on the throat as she choked but she didn’t struggle for freedom or fight back.

“Why not allow me to die by the potion than strangle me?” Larissa said making Hugo free his firm grip on her, “thanks,” she said and caressed her neck as she felt the hurt, “I think my time is up, and all I can say is that I’m sorry for all I put you through. I’m sorry for the death of your dad caused by my dad who used my pistol to do that.

I know how it hurts when you see a loved one dying while you could do nothing, and for that, I apologise on behalf of my dad. Killing Belle was out of jealousy because I imagined her fucking you in a car instead of playing the role I assigned her to play. And for that, I’m sorry,”

Remembering Belle made Hugo feel like crying but he vowed never to appear weak before Larissa.

“You’re really the devil I should have known since but I discovered everything late and abhor myself for that,” Hugo said with rage,

“Now, I can die in peace, but before that,” Larissa said tearfully “I advise you marry Tessie. She loves you so much and willing to die for you. I thought I was the smartest but her smartness made me realise that I still have a long way to go. I almost succeeded, though but she was the game’s master. Can you now open the door and tell them that I took a potion and you couldn’t stop me so that you’d be exonerated,”

Hugo smiled and said: “Don’t think I would be so stupid or naive to allow you die so quick without being alive to witness anguish in the prison, be barricaded in hopelessness as you enjoy life-jail for numerous felonies you have committed. There was no potion in the drink because I’d be glad when you die in the prison and rot there, and then I’ll spit on your grave.

Dead by the poison would be quick and I wouldn’t want that. Sorry, I won’t be dying for a long time in case you wish I die,” Hugo added and opened the door, “Marcos,” he called and beckoned him forward, “I’m done with the devil. At least she had the opportunity of enjoying the 26 years Glenfiddich whisky which on my prediction would be the number of years she’d be spending in jail if not life jail or death by hanging,”

Larissa felt so sad and disappointed that she wasn’t dying soon but still had long years to suffer in jail.

Hugo looked at the entire cops who watched him in a way that hinted that they were wondering who he was to have been treated like VIP by Marcos. With smiles, he took his phone and called Tessie.

Tessie directed him to come to SoulMate love garden downtown. He gladly went there to meet her.

On getting to the love garden, he was so happy as he expected to see her but was surprised that she wasn’t there. He looked around searchingly with unquenchable gladness but couldn’t sight her, so he brought out his phone to make a call and was surprised to see Tessie riding slowly on a white horse as she entered carrying some rose flowers with her.

Hugo was so perplexed, so he rushed at her and pulled her down from the animal, making her fall on him as they began to roll in the garden in absolute happiness that characterised the celebratory mood. Hugo began to kiss her without giving her space even when Tessie fought to be freed from that voracious kiss.

As Hugo was about to take the kiss to another level, Tessie stopped him and made him lie on the grass while she lay beside him. They fixed their eyes to the moon and enjoyed the view.

It was already nightfall and the mood had taken over the constellation, making the garden so beautiful as the lovers had fun.

“Guess who I met today,” Hugo said after a while of jests between them.

“Larissa of course,” Tessie said and dimpled a smile, “I knew about the arrangement. I guess you’re now satisfied that she’s captured and unable to be freed. No god will ever make her gain freedom, especially while she has many count-charges against her. She’s in serious hot soup,”

“Of course, she is,” Hugo said and pulled her by the nape and kissed her lips for a couple of minutes, “she said that you’re smarter than she thought. I’m so eager to hear about how you played the game,”

Tessie who was looking so sexy in that white mini gown; smiled and said: “I made her believe that she was being smarter but she never know that a frog can be killed even when he’s enjoying the comfort of the water,”

“That sounds proverbial,” Hugo said and pulled her into a kiss again but Tessie rejected that by crossing his lips with her finger.

“If you take a frog and drop it in boiling water, it would jump out without delay, but if you put it in cold water where it enjoys the relaxation, it would stay. Then put the water on the fire and start boiling it. The frog would believe that it’s enjoying the comfort of the water until he dies even before he realises that the water is hot enough to kill it. The frog dies quietly when it’s enjoying the comfort zone. I made Larissa believe she was being the game master but she was truly wallowing in wishful thoughts while I won the game,”

Hugo clapped for her after the analogy and said: “You’ve always amazed me. Like you said; you learnt a lot from your mom but you’re with the good guys,”

“I started having this romance of cooperation with Larissa when she contacted me to let me know that she wanted to destroy you. She made so many promises to me with a promise to reward me when we win the game. I accepted without delay even though she wasn’t convinced that I was being so sincere. I made her realise that I was revenging for the agony that Ignacio and my mom were going through. I even made her believe that I was working for my mom.

Hugo was so impressed but had to listen on as he was information-starved.

“So how did you make other plans since you never knew she would abduct you?” Hugo asked trying to understand the details.

“I had my workers ready for action,” Tessie explained, “I told them that if anything goes wrong, you should be advised to switch off your phone which would buy sometime before Bret McGowen intervenes. I planted Marcus ahead to take care of your escape when you wake up on the ship. I contacted Doctor Luiz, Andre, and other actors who participated in making the entire operation a success. I wanted to be the one to enter Egypt with you but due to the abduction, I couldn’t do that. I contacted Bret through Andre who gave me his contact. I assured him of handsome payment.

Being that I was already in the know concerning what Larissa planned doing to your phone so that you wouldn’t be able to contact anyone; I gave Bret’s phone number to Marcus who was to impersonate Jeff that works with Marlborough Company. We made the mask using Jeff’s face. Being that Jeff relates to Doctor Luiz, it was easier for us to get his facial prints through him. Being that all I wanted was to get Larissa arrested, I had to destroy the code so that it can only be used once and it would lock forever except for override which could only be used by the one who locks it.

I knew that Larissa was going to enter the bunker with me, so I was ready to die with her there while we wait for the security operatives to use override to unlock it. I showed Marcos how to do that. Even though I ended up being abducted, Larissa entered alone and the plan became even more perfect than I imagined, leaving her alone in the bunkered apartment,”

“Mouthwatering bait indeed,” Hugo said and looked up at the beautiful moon, “I love the moon just as I love you for even being ready to give up your life just to save me. for the first time, Larissa was right,”

Tessie was so happy to hear that, so she pulled him closer and caressed his chest through the cotton t-shirt; felt his erect nipple, and fondled it religiously.

Hugo felt like ending the story to delve into lovemaking but Tessie was always in control so he had to listen with the hope that he’d be rewarded at the end of the story.

Tessie felt the passion in Hugo’s eyes and smiled. She felt so happy too and was already wet for him but the story had to end first.

“When Larissa tried killing us,” she continued, “she tried contacting you but her efforts were futile because your phone was off. She was so angry and restive that she started breaking things around her but still couldn’t go ahead with the plans. It was then that she felt that waiting for you could be time-consuming, so she abandoned us in the hands of ten hefty guys that she paid to work with her. She flew back to Brazil to cart away with the cocaine first so that she’d come back and finish up what she started. It was then that Bret and his men came and killed the entire ten guards and rescued us.

I then called Marcos on the phone and alerted him to rush with his men to the bunker in case Larissa didn’t take the bait but amid that, I was so sure that she’d be falling into the trap. When Marcos got to the location, Larissa was already trapped while the guys he came with were all killed. Only one of the men was captured alive because he didn’t resist arrest. That was how the great Larissa was captured without much stress,”

After saying that, she took a deep breath, smiled, and presented her finger for Hugo as she waited for a wedding engagement proposal.

Hugo looked at the sexy smooth finger, smiled, and said: “How did you know that I have the ring with me?”

Smilingly, Tessie looked at him without providing an answer to his question. She undressed as he watched, putting on just her pants and bra.

Hugo was drowned completely in lust as he gaped with his lips fallen part.

“Which do you prefer to do first?” Tessie asked and smiled as she stood erect before him under the moonlight, “Marriage proposal or lovemaking?”

Looking at her beautiful curves, Hugo was tempted to start effing her without delay but being the kind of woman Tessie is; a woman with great wisdom, he felt as if he was being tested, so he got up, pulled her closer, grabbed her ass, and said: “Tessie Octavio, will you marry me?” He brought out the diamond ring, put it on her finger and kissed her passionately even without waiting for a ‘Yes’ since the smart girl already knew what he was about to do and was ready for him.

Grabbing him on his zipper and slowly allowing the manhood to make itself revealed, Tessie stripped him until they were both stark naked and began to make passionate love to the moonlight.

Epilogue

Tessie and Hugo had a cool wedding done in a yacht in the presence of his family and friends. They left for Egypt after Marcos’s wedding with Las Flakes. In Egypt, they established a winery and perfumery; a dream that Tessie always had. Jose, Amanda, and his younger sister, Gabrielle, joined them at Egypt; though not in Cairo being the capital city.

Ignacio and Margarita were sentenced to life jail while Larissa was sentenced to twenty-six years imprisonment. Lucas and Mark Brendan all got twenty years imprisonment each. Doctor Luiz got married to killer Bitch while Andre who had been mourning his family for many years got married to a beautiful Spanish girl and moved on with his life.

Drug business stopped being too attractive in Brazil, especially when the likes of Marcos, Joshua, and Caleb were there to make life unbearable and uncomfortable for them. Many drug dealers took to their heels when Las Flakes who knows most of them and their hideouts joined the DEA and became a fierce force that was dreaded due to her prowess as a cop.

Hugo established an anti-drug and rehabilitation centre where those who intend to or had been into drug addiction are sensitized.  on the effects of white forbidden powder both to their health and life generally.
