AMAYA
(Son Of The Moon)
Episode 10
Two muscular young men,painted in white native chalk were standing at the shrine path with earthen pots of fire on their palms. Their sights alone scares people away,but that was not with my mother.
“Wise one doesn’t want to see anyone today. He’s busy. “The two shrine guards said simultaneously with their straight faces. “Go home!”
“Until I see my son,I will not go back. “Mama said in-between sobs. “Amaya! Amaya!! Amaya!!! I know you’re in there. Come out and talk to your mother. I will remain here until you come out. “
“Can you at least allow us to see our younger brother?” Christian thundered.
Christian tried to gain entry into the shrine forcefully but there was a strong spiritual barricade that enclosed the shrine environment. This means that no one can actually gain access into the shrine uninvited.
“He ceased to be part of you the moment he walked into the son of the moon initiation altar. No matter who you are,he will not come out. ” One of the guards said to Christian.
“If you loved him like you claim you won’t have allowed him out of your sight when he needed you the must. ” The other guard answered. “He is young and easily hurt. “
“It was a mistake. I couldn’t have abandoned him to rot in the ev!l forest that night. Please! Allow us see him once again. “Christian pleaded. “I promise! I won’t hurt him. “
“Go home!” The guards thundered again simultaneously.
“The pains of losing a child is throttling me. I can’t help this. Amaya! Please come out and talk to me. “She kept fluctuating in agony.
“Mama,Amaya needs to cool off a little. He has gone through enough in these past years of his life. “Christian said to mama. “
“Uhm! He angrily froze some of my men into stones. What do I do about that?” Christian inquired.
“That is left for him to decide,whether or not they will remain stones for the rest of their lives. “One of the guards said. “Go home. Return in three days time,by then he might have completely cooled off. If he tie those soldiers in his heart,that means they can never be helped,but if he doesn’t,then they will unfreeze on their own in three days time. He’s a very nice person, I wonder why you people are trying to turn him in a monster that he isn’t. “
“Let’s go back and wait till three days. ” Christian said.
After the long awaiting session had ended,Zoe drove them to his kingdom. The frozen armies were left at the bush path, awaiting to be freed in three days time.
The next day, Vincent visited a great herbalist in the woods to inquire for powers to destroy me.
“Wise one,I need powers to destroy that boy. I detest him with passion. ” He said.
“But! He has a pure heart. Why do you want to destroy someone with a pure heart?” The herbalist inquired.
“That is my business. What do I do?” He asked.
“His source of power comes from the moon. You and your men needs to fire bullets continuously into the direction of the moon,while the others pull at him with force. You will eventually destroy him successfully. But remember,he’s a moon child. It won’t be easy. ” The herbalist explained.
“Thank you so much baba. “Vincent brought out some naira notes from his pocket and dumped them into an earthen pot. He stood up and walked away.
The third day night sprouted sparingly and long. My chest became lightweight after I had freed the frozen and crusted soldiers from my hold. I came out that night to gain the energy of the moon,but something disastrous happened.
During this specific night, an army of mysterious, murky clouds seized control of divine sky, devouring the sun. Favoured by the troops, the moon, displaying its glorious luminescence upon a shadowy city, won a triumphant victory over the sun. A ferocious leader of the army activated the withdrawal then leads dedicated soldiers to west as if they were tracking down a wild dog. On the other hand, the city transmitted its vivid and righteous illuminations back to the sky to let people in the “second floor” know that “era of tranquility” began. Imagine the astonishing night, rigid and bright buildings laid elegantly on the moonlight sky, bringing lights gaze from the thousands of bulbs. It was beautiful, yet no one knew what danger was upon them.
Vincent led a troop soldiers into my shrine to invade my presence.
My mind was fully occupied,this was why I didn’t see this coming.
At the point I came out of the shrine, a cool breeze brushed my face. I paused! Suddenly, sounds of bullets started zipping and hissing in the air. There were all being fired at me. I didn’t move. So, Vincent walked out of the bush with charms tied round his neck and a large knife in his right hand.
“Interesting!” I exclaimed.” Why do you have to go through all of these, Vincent?” I asked.
“Are you scared?” He asked.
“A mare mortal? I have delt and defeated spirits before. You are no match to me,my dear brother. Go home now that you’re still alive. ” I spurred.
“I dare you to try,Amaya! Fight me man to man if you can. ” Vincent yelled.
“Very well then,” I lifted my hand into the grey sky and a sword appeared in my hand. “I will not spare you this time. “
“Bring it on!” Vincent then rushed all out at me. ” It’s the sword too heavy for you, little boy?”
No!” I protested. “It’s very light.” I said lifting it up. “Let’s fight!” I yelled and he charged at me. We both struck with the swords and met in an “X” in the middle and they had made a loud crack sound, like a piece of broken glass scratching against a blackboard. My arms shivered and sent multiple shocks of sharp stabbing pain up my arms.
His physical strength was ten times of mine. He was a trained soldier and I wasn’t. I felt empowered so I quickly switched into my spiritual energy.
“Moon,crescent glowy moon!” I yelled and all the soldiers turned into stones. “I will spare you today again, Vincent. I have to because of the love that I have for mama. She will feel too bad,if she hear of this. ” I turned and left him in his shame.
At Zoe’s palace.
“My king! My king!! There’s trouble at Amaya’s shrine. “One of the royal guards ran out.
“What is it?!” Zoe inquired.
“A troop of soldiers are invading Amaya right now. A message came to me from a friend in that village. ” He continued.
“What?! Where is Vincent? Where is Vincent?” Christian thundered.
“He told me that he was going to see a friend. “Mama’s mouth agape.
“If anything happens to Amaya,I will make sure that I pull Vincent down myself. ” King Zoe switched into an aggressive mood and jumped off.
“Mama! Mama! What do we do now?” Chimamanda questioned.
“May God help him if I find out that he did this. ” Christian thundered and ran out.
As soon as the door closed, and Christian was finally at last gone, mama immediately sprang to her feet and locked the door. Tears had all ready formed at the corner of her eyes, before she ran towards the pretty canopy bed, and fell down upon its soft, gentle surface and sobbed as if her heart would break. Inside, she was completely devastated. She began to wonder just what exactly had minute, she’d been at home, relaxing in the bright, warm silver moon, working on a brand new painting of confusion, and the next, she was off riding into the deep, dark woods.
“Mama come back,it’s dangerous out there!” Chimamanda ran after her.
“Amaya! Christian!!” She called continuously while running away into the dark,but the royal guards quickly reached out to her and returned her o the palace.
“Why is Vincent after the life of Amaya? What has he done to him?” Zoe asked Christian as he drove on hight acceleration.
Zoe kept quarrelling and suddenly,they ran into the bush.
I was thinking of what next to do when the accident scene flickered into my eyes.
Christian and Zoe were in the pool of their own bl00d as broken classes pierced through their bodies. The two royal guards that followed them d!ed at the spot.
“Accident?!”
