“You can’t do this to me Daniel… “
“Which secretary are you talking about that is giving you the green light?….
“ I won’t allow you to bring in another woman to this house”
Vivian eyes were filled with hot tears which keeps brewing down her beautiful cheeks
She had rushed into the kitchen immediately Daniel hanged up the call and he decided to focus on the dish that he was preparing,but he was startled by the voice of Vivian which kept echoing in the kitchen
He never said a word,and it greatly saddened Vivian.
When Vivian saw that Daniel wasn’t watching her or either replying to her rant,she stormed out of the kitchen and dashed into the room with her gadget and she dial her mom’s number right away her phone in her left hand
She immediately called her mom and narrated her ordeal to her as she sat soberly on the bed.
“Mom, my home is about to be shattered… my home is about to taken over by another woman “
“Calm down my sunshine,as far as I’m alive,nobody born of a woman will be able to destroy my only daughter’s home” Mrs Ndidiobi said over the phone
“Mom, seriously I don’t know what to think of right now…”
“Sometimes I just ask myself, But why didn’t mom teach me?….
“I reminisce that I once pleaded that you should allow me to learn, even if it was small cooking techniques and even how to care for the home as a woman,but you blatantly refused,and now see where it has landed us,my home of six months is about to go down the drain” Vivian said as she sniffed her nose
“Vi… I’m really sorry that everything is happening like this,I never knew things would turn out this way,I didn’t envision it to be this way.”
“….You know I always wanted your husband to hire maids for you,I even wanted your personal maid to go with you after your wedding ceremony,but unfortunately Daniel declined,he said he wanted to bond with you so well now you both just got married and I quite understood the angle he was coming from”
She paused a bit before she continued talking
“But don’t worry child,I promise I will take the next available flight back to Lagos, I’m in Dubai with your father,we went for a meeting,but because of you my child,I will come down tomorrow” Mrs Ndidiobi voiced calmly
“Alright… till you come mum,I will be waiting for you”
“See you tomorrow.” Mrs Ndidiobi said as she hangs up the call.
Vivian sighed softly because speaking to her mother always makes her feel relieved
“Indeed having a parent in your life is like having a shock absorber” Vivian said to herself because to her,it was just like her mother had absorbed her shock.
She encouraged herself and decided to go and pick up her book in the parlour,but immediately she opened her door,she was greeted with a mouth savoury white rice and chicken sauce with salad,placed in a tray and was in front of the door
“How can he be so mean towards me, but yet so sweet too?” Vivian asked herself
“I think I need to take the cooking class,I will also start taking care of my undies instead of burning them,and even this home,i will lighten it up and be the woman that Daniel always envision me to be” Vivian said as she carried her food inside to devour
She can’t remember the last time she ate good food like this and she was so hungry,she decided she was going to turn a new leaf.
