MARRIED TO MY TEACHER

Episode 4

I resumed school the following week been my first day at school after 8 years. I never thought the uniform will be good on me, but it was not looking bad on me.

I was admitted into J.S.S 1C . The whole of J.S.S 1 was full with kids. I was older than the student next to my age with 6 years. That made some of the arrogant students to be calling me all sorts of names ( names like ” old Papa J.S.S 1 ). I never cared about what they were saying because some of the kids were very nice to me. They took me as their elder brother I always advised them to do what was right.

I was not doing too well at school because of the stress at home and sometimes at work since my siblings were not always around.

But my school record was average. That is to say say that, I was not the best student neither was I the worst student but I was good at what I was doing. In as much as I was not too brilliant, most of the teachers liked we because I was a kind and respectful and student. Some of the teachers thought I will be be bullying the kids since I was far older than them, but their thoughts turned out to be negative thoughts. Although sometimes I got angry at the kids but I never reacted nor showed them any sign that I was mad at them because hurting them will not add any value to my life rather it will it will bring shame and disgrace.

Just as it’s said ” time waits for no one “, we were almost graduating from J. S.S 1 and it seemed my mates were getting fond of me. The arrogant kids never called me bad names nor insulted me. Rather, they sometimes begged me to join them in their little sports.

Third term was already over, and we were having a big graduation ceremony and prize giving day for the J.S.S 3 and S.S.S 3 graduating students.

I was given the prize of ” the neatest and humble student of the year ” in J.S.S 1. Many people began murmuring when the heard J.S.S 1. Even the M.C taught maybe it was a mistake from the school list. To me, it was not bad for someone at the age of 21 to be graduating from from J.S.S 1, because it was not my fault neither was it my parents fault. (Just as it is said in pidgin, ” Na condition de make crayfish bend ” ). Rather I blamed everything on the condition that God puts my family through.

The S.S.S 3 students were very happy that day. I wished I was at least one among the J.S.S 3 students that were graduating from junior classes to senior classes, that was impossible. ” You don’t wish to be graduating at the same time with a particular set of people when you know that they started before you”, I said to myself without looking at anyone’s face. That day was your indeed a blessed day for the graduating students.

Two years past and we were already in J.S.S 3. What I wished for years ago came to pass. Indeed time is the best solution in this world. I smiled and said to myself.

Everything was moving on well at Trinity college. All our teachers were trying their best to make sure we studied for the forthcoming BECE exam, but we were having a problem in science and technology. Our science and technology teacher relocated to a far distance with his family and he was unable to teach us for 2 weeks. We the entire J.S.S 3 students wrote a letter to the headmaster demanding for a new science and technology teacher.

Immediately the headmaster received our letter, he came to address us pleading with us to give the school 1 week and they will provide us with a new teacher. Although time was not much on our side again but he promised to provide a new teacher within a week so we waited to see the outcome.

Three days later, the headmaster walked into our class with a very beautiful and captivating lady. From the look of things, she could either be 20 or 21 years. But The question that troubles my heart ❤️❤️ was, ” how was she able to graduate that young? Will she even teach us well?
