Episode 8
“She’s the one!” I said. “I kept watching the dance scene as she gracefully radiated the entire dance session. All eyes drooled at her beautiful hot chocolate skin tone, endowed with well shaped hips. The drums had just stopped when she walked into the crowd. “Who’s this beauty? Where is she from?”
“Wow! Who’s this beautiful damsel?” Zoe asked. I will love to see her dance as well. “Music! I will love to watch her dance.”
“My king! But she’s not one of us! We haven’t seen her before!” Some of the maidens said to him.
“It doesn’t matter who’s known or not. The goal is to get the best dancer. “Zoe said.
“Only her beauty alone is a win,ten over ten. ” One of the maiden whispered.
“Fair maiden! May I see you dance?” King Zoe asked.
“Thank you my king. ” She said. She majestically walked into the dance center,with her beautiful waist emerald beads.
The maidens glared at her with jealousy as the king instructed the drummers to hit their drums for her to dance.
I was still watching everything in my shrine.
She took three steps forward and backward. She then turned three sixty and bounced her waist up and down,allowing her beautiful emerald waist beads glisten along the rhythms. Her black sheen long hair kept swaying down her shoulders in a very flexible motion.
All eyes was on her till she halted. Suddenly,the entire crowd took to her deliberate dance steps.
“She’s the one!” King Zoe exclaimed. “She’s the one! I don’t need anyone to dance anymore. I have seen my wife. “
The event announcer later announced that the other maidens should not back down just because the king chose a stranger;
“We still have four more days to complete our competition. Ladies in the house,do not give up just yet! You might be better than today, tomorrow,and the king might favour you for it!” He consoled the maidens.
I became angry when I heard Zoe said that he had seen his wife to be.
“Did he just say that? Did he forget what I told him so soon when he came visiting? To think he remembered my warning. ” I flared in my shrine.
The dance session was dismissed,as it was the first day. Preparing for the second day,I decided to project some of our best community female dancers into the competition. I gave them some beautiful pearl beads from my shrine. There were not magical ones or enchanted, because I needed Zoe’s lust to naturally attract the maidens and not by any means of my magical powers.
“I can’t enchant these beads. I do not want Zoe to be caught in my web. That will be destructive and demeaning to our friendship. ” I soliloquized and handed the beads to the maidens, shortly after,they left for the second day competition.
“Go! Win the heart of king Zoe. You shall find favour in the eyes of king Zoe. I will be right here doing the possible. ” I instructed. So the maidens started off to king Zoe’s village.
Thankfully,the ev!l girl from the sea could not make the second day. Her absence favoured my subjects. The king chose them with two other maidens.
Third and fourth day passed for the competition. My girls also came out the best. So,it was announced that the final day would be the day where the king will have to pick his wife from the best dancers.
The luminescent glow of the moon radiated across the expansive night, piercing through the veil of darkness, casting a glistening path for all to see.
I slowly walked out into the moonlit night with some pair of luminous gemstone beads and gazed directly to the moon.
“Zoe! You once dedicated your time and power to save my life when I needed help. It is time to reciprocate that time and power!” I said. “Even if it means turning myself into a monster,I will not hesitate. “
I had to prepare for the last dance inorder to win the heart of the king. Reason why I had to fortify my beads before hand.
” The moon, a celestial body of enchanting beauty, hangs majestically like a silver medallion in the inky black night sky. Its surface, marked by eons of cosmic interaction, gleams with a metallic sheen that shimmers against the backdrop of infinite darkness. ” I enchanted continuously,while I was busy swinging the beads in my hands,until the energy of the moon was slowly released into the beads to emit a small amount of light which radiated and provided the glow effect for a short period of time.
The sun bloomed on the horizon, golden petals stretching ever outwards into the rich blue. Everyone was preparing for the last dance at king Zoe’s village. To my greatest surprise,the king of my community,king Efe was invited for the last day.
I was making rituals in my shrine when I finally gave up giving my fortified beads on king Zoe. I still needed him not to be under my magical influence at all. So,when my dance came to me for the last day fortification,I swapped the beads with ordinary ones.
I know,you won’t understand what I did. I wasn’t ready to break a friendship code.
Shortly,they all left for the last day dance. I remained in my shrine. I needed to keep watch of every event in there.
Just when I guessed correctly,the strange girl emerged from the sea again and graced the occasion in different costumes. She was more elegant than she was.
My dancers had just stopped dancing when the strange girl emerged.
“Here comes our mysterious dancer!” The event announcer said.
The maidens frowned immediately, because they knew that they would definitely lose to her incredible dance moves. Of course,they were right! She stole the number one position when she was allowed to dance!
“I think we have the winner already!” The MC announced.
“There’s no need going through all that. She’s definitely the one for me. ” King Zoe announced and the crowd cheered.

The moment Zoe announced the stranger as the winner of the dance competition,an earthen pot fell down and shattered into pieces beside me.
“This is a confirmation of Zoe’s death. I must stop him before he destroys his own life with his hands. Why are you so f00lish,Zoe?” I thundered. ” Get me a bowl of spring water,right now!” I commented.
One of my servant rushed out with the bowl of water. I lowered my left hand into it and a picture of the event sprouted.
” I guess it’s time for me to go there myself. I need to stop him. ” I was turning the water with my finger tip for me to disappear and appear at the event,but unfortunately, I sighted my mother, Christian, Vincent and Chimamanda seated at the front role.
“Oh no! They have ruined my plan. What are they doing there?” I questioned myself, forgetting that Vincent was a good friend of king Zoe.
“Stop! Stop! I will be right back. ” I said to my servant,that I assigned for something. I quickly grabbed my enchanted beads and disappeared from the shrine.
I appeared at king Zoe’s village river. I turned right and left to ensure that no one was on sight. Then I grabbed the beads and said a prayer.
“Beauty,beauty of the morning sun and the glowy night moon! Radiate your curse of beautiful on me!” I said and suddenly shape shifted into a beautiful maiden with the glowy beads dangling up and down my seducing waist. My beautiful attire was light purple on my chest,covering my body and royal blue on my waist line.
Angelic, beauteous, alluring , captivating, bewitching and appealing was the best description that I became.
I quickened my steps and rushed into the dance center.
“My goodness! Where’s this maiden from?” Vincent inquired.
“I bet you. She’s far more beautiful than this mysterious dancer here!” Christian whispered.
“Hold on! I guess we have a new dancer in our midst. ” Zoe said. “Fair maiden,what’s your name. “
“Who is this again? Why do we keep having strangers among us?” The maidens complained softly.
“My name is uhm…! Is…! Amaya!” I said turning my head to and fro to keep the crowd’s gaze off me.
“My friend’s name sake. Ok Amaya,can you dance for me?” Zoe inquired. I already have a winner. Maybe! Who knows! You might be the lucky one!”
“Yes my king!” I answered.
“Music!” Zoe shouted and returned to his seat.
“Are you ready?” The Drummer said. I didn’t say a word. “My lady,can I hit the drum now?”
“Yes,please!” I responded. I’m ready!”
