SUSAN REVENGE Episode 3 – Ayo Omolayo
I was waiting patiently for my friend. Waiting for her to return. I was going to tell her everything.
I was ready to reveal to her that I was at the restaurant. Yes I was ready.
I was not ready to watch her make the biggest mistake of her life and say nothing. Truth be told, I was nervous. I was pacing around the room unable to concentrate on any thing at the moment. Constantly checking the window at the sound of a footstep.
I came back from the restaurant, waiting for Chioma. I thought after the meeting with Mr George, she would return to the house.
Mr George, that Devil left my friend crying. I couldn’t walk up to her to console her.
I had to sneak out without being caught. As soon as I successfully got out of the restaurant, I took a bike home.
All I was doing now is to wait for my friend. What’s taking her this long. Even if she had to schedule an abortion, it won’t be today. At least she would come home and prepare for it properly.
I had rehearsed some of the lines of my well constructed presentation.”SAY NO TO ABORTION”.
Chioma would not be able to go ahead with the abortion after hearing what I had to say. If it meant calling the pastor or going down on my knees to beg her. Whatever it would cost me to stop her, I would do.
I was prepared to convince her not to do it. All I was doing was waiting for her to come back. What’s taking her so long? I had dialled her number severally, she wasn’t picking her calls.
“What’s wrong with this girl?”
I dialled for the umpteenth time, yet there was no response. I was so worried at this point.
“Lord! Where is my friend? Don’t tell me she has already aborted the child oh!” I said inwardly.
My eyes were blurry, something told me the abortion had already taken place, but I was not ready to believe it.
“At least, the doctor will schedule a date for the abortion”.
“Who told you that you need a doctor to have an abortion? Any drug specialist out there is competent enough to do the job?” My heart replied me.
“No I’m not ready to believe that!” I said convincing myself it had not happened.
Chioma had left the house by 8am, now it was 7pm and she was not yet back. Pick your calls, Noway!
What am I going to do? Where do I start looking?
I didn’t know who to call or any one who could tell of her whereabouts.
I kept begging God to show us mercy when Chioma’s call reached me.
“Thank you Jesus!” I jumped and answered the call.
“Chioma! what’s your problem? Why are you doing this to me why? Is it fair? You just do things on your own, go where you want whenever you like. Have you forgotten I’m the first person everyone would ask if anything happens to you? Why are you treating me like this?”
I was still talking when she interrupted me.
“Susan I’m dying!”
My heart almost jumped out of my chest. Thank God for ribcage.
“You said what?”
Her voice was almost gone. She was gasping.
“I don’t know how I got to this stage without telling you, but I fell!” She said and began to cry.
“I gave my body to George, not once, not twice, but countless times. I got pregnant and went to this particular woman, known for aborting babies.
It didn’t work out as I planned. I have bled beyond remedy and the woman took some of her valuables and fled.
I’m left alone to die. Susan, I’m so sorry I never told you about all these. I so sorry. Please help me beg God to forgive me! I cannot pray right now. I’m in pains”.
My heart pumped faster.
“Jesus! Please have mercy! Don’t allow the Devil to mock us! Please save my friend.
“Where exactly are you?”
“I don’t know! Some motorcycle brought me to mama nurse’s house”.
“Mama nurse! Thank you Jesus!” I breathed down.
“I know the place!” I replied.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be there soon”, I said and ended the call.
I raced out of the house not realising I wore two different types of footwear. I stopped every bike I saw whether it had a pazzenger or not.
All the bikes I saw had pazzengers. Some who were empty refused to stop for me because my drama was so extreme. Why were bike men running away from me at such a time like this? Satan is a liar.
Fifteen minutes pazzed, before a bike picked me. We were on the road when a traffic occurred.
“Jesus! What sort of Devil is this?” I wept in frustration.
“How could the Devil be this wicked? George! You will definitely pay for this!” I muttered.
For over fifteen minutes, we were looking for every little opening to overtake a vehicle. That was how we got out of the traffic.
Finally, we arrived at Mama nurse’s house after one hour and were greeted by a crowd of people.
“What’s going on here? Where’s my friend?” I yelled.
“Are you a relative to the dead girl?” A woman asked me.
“What dead girl? I spoke with my friend on the phone and she told me to meet her here! Where is she?” I was almost screaming.
She held my hand and lead me admist the crowd to a heap of sand.
“Yes, how does this heap of sand look like my friend?” I asked here, trying to believe this was a prank.
“She was discovered dead. Since we don’t know who she is and where she came from? With no one answering for her and willing to take her to the community mortuary. We had to bury her immediately”.
This had to be a joke. Yes I had to clear my eyes and suddenly, I’m with Chioma in the room and we’ll discuss about the pregnancy. Yes it was a joke. Don’t tell me Chioma is gone forever?
I stood at the grave side and wept bitterly.
I remembered how Chioma and I met. It was in high school. She was a fresher just like me looking for the room she was azzigned to.
“That’s exactly what I am looking for right now. Can we search for it together?” I asked.
“Okay!”
That was the beginning of our friendship. We both discovered we were azzigned to the same room.
We bonded so well and had everything in common.
Our stay in school was a unique one. We finally met again during our NYSC. Miraclously azzigned to the same post. It was after our service we decided to start life together and got an apartment. Since we both grew up in Lagos, we came back from Kaduna and got a teaching Job in the same school.
We left the first one when we discovered Cranfield was looking for teachers and had a higher pay to offer. That was how we both became teachers again in the same school. Not until she left to join Queens international high school and lost it all.
“Chioma! So you left without saying goodbye! We’re are you?
Are you in heaven, or burning in hell?” I muttered.
“We have sent someone after the woman that killed her”, said the woman who led me to the grave.
“No that’s the wrong person! I’m sending myself after the real Devil that did this!” I said inwardly.
When the news got to our church, it got everyone devastated.
I just couldn’t tell them what really happened. I told them she was sick and we took her to this specialist for treatment, but the sickness had gone too far that she couldn’t make it.
“May her soul rest in peace!” Our pastor said.
I was just looking at him with contempt in my heart.
“Which peace? Someone who died aborting a child? Chioma is burning in hell. George sent my friend to a place of torment. Chioma was screaming day and night in the fires that will never quench.
I will avenge you. Leave that thing vengeance belongs to God. I won’t rest untill this wicked man is down.
Since he sent your soul to hell, I will send him there also. I don’t care if I’ll have to end up in hell too.

Brethren, the scriptures warns us in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The next scripture that follows said something we ought to pay attention to.
1 Peter 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith……..
Resist steadfastly. Resist without giving him a dime. Resist without giving up or giving in. Resist and don’t accept defeat.
