So, This is Love? Episode 4 – Judith Onyoyibo
I checked my phone severally to see if my boyfriend had at least sent me a text.
How could he just ghost me just like that? It’s been over 3days since he left the house. He said he’d be back the next day but he never showed up.
I tried calling him severally but he didn’t take any of my calls nor reply any of my messages.
I was so distraught and frustrated.
I cried till I fell asleep on the couch.
I was awakened by a hysterical laughter.
I opened my eyes and saw my boyfriend. He was staring directly at my eyes. I got startled.
“Where have you been? You didn’t take any of my calls nor reply my messages. Is that fair?”. I queried.
I heard a lady clear her throat.
Behold, I saw a tall, beautiful and light skinned lady who was seated at the dining.
“Who is she?”. I asked my boyfriend.
“Where are your manners? Can’t you hide your bad behavior at least in the presence of a visitor? Must you bring disgrace to me?”. My boyfriend murmured at me angrily.
I’m sure the Lady heard him. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated that I couldn’t stand the both of them.
I stood up and went outside the house.
I told myself I won’t go back into the house till the lady leaves.
That was how I sat outside for over 2hrs. At first I was hearing their voices and laughter till I stopped hearing them.
I decided to go in but discovered that the door was already locked from inside. I was livid. I knocked and knocked and got no reply.
I burst into tears. I have never felt that humiliated in all my life.
I would have gone to Lisa’s but I wasn’t even properly dressed. I was wearing a bum short and an oversized T-shirt without a bra underneath.
I cried nonstop.
They spent over 5hrs inside the house. The time was already 6:13pm when my boyfriend finally opened the door.
He acted surprised when he saw me crying outside.
“Are you still here? I thought you left”. He said.
“Where do you expect me to go dressed like this?”. I asked pointing at my body.
He dipped his hands into his pocket and brought out some money and squeezed it into my hand.
“Just go to Lisa’s place and spend the night there. My cousin won’t be leaving till tomorrow morning”. He said.
“Are you kidding me?”. I asked tearily.
“Change into something more appropriate. I want to get some frozen chicken from the supermarket down the estate. Please behave yourself”. He said and hurried out of the compound.
I just stood outside for over five minutes in utmost disbelief.
I went into the house and saw the lady in the kitchen cooking. She was wearing my boyfriend’s shirt with nothing under.
“I’m Janet, I have heard a lot about you”. She said smiling.
Her voice was angelic and her smile mesmerizing.
I looked at her from head to toe. She was indeed a very beautiful lady with a fine straight long legs.
“Is he f ucking you?”. I asked her.
She was puzzled by my question.
“Who are you to him?”. I asked again.
My boyfriend rushed in panting. I guess he ran all the way home.
“Are you still here?”. He shouted.
I went into the room and changed into a gown. I wore my wig and applied some makeup on my face. I tried my best to cover the deep pain i was feeling in my heart.
I saw her and my boyfriend giggling in the dining. There’s no way she’s his cousin.
“Take care of yourself”. My boyfriend screamed after me.
I didn’t say anything. I slammed the door angrily and left.

“You’ve been frequenting my house a lot lately”. Lisa said as she opens the door for me.
“Should I leave?”. I asked.
“If you want to”. She said teasingly.
That joke didn’t age well as I immediately broke into tears.
She was marveled.
“I was joking na. Why are you crying? It’s not that deep”. Lisa said as she tries to console me.
“Nobody wants me. I am unwanted 😭😭😭”. I wailed.
“Where’s that coming from?”. Lisa asked confused.
I couldn’t even say anything. I cried nonstop. I was totally inconsolable.
Confused, Lisa just sat on the couch and watched me cry myself to stupor.
After a while, I stopped crying.
“Are you ready to talk now?”. She asked.
“No! Give me food”. I said.
She started laughing.
“Hungry dey still hold who dey cry?”. She asked while laughing.
“Before nko?”. I said and started laughing.
She brought me food. A well seasoned and garnished fried rice.
“You are enjoying o”. I said.
“You too like food “. Lisa teased.
I ate to my satisfaction.
Later that night, I finally told Lisa what happened. She was so mad. She even said we should go teach the lady a bitter lesson. I had to calm her down.
“This is the biggest red flag babe. It will be so unwise of you to go back to him”. Lisa said.
“What if they are just friends?”. I asked.
“You be fool? Why are you doubting the obvious?”. Lisa asked angrily.
“I know but there’s also a possibility that she’s truly his cousin. Let’s not make hasty conclusions”. I said.
“If you like go back to him, I won’t attend your wedding. That’s on period!”. Lisa said.
“I won’t go back to him”. I said.
“Better! That guy has no respect for you”.
“He is not always like that though. He is a nice man”. I said.
“You be mumu. No offense”. Lisa said.
“I didn’t say I will go back to him na. I am only saying he’s not always this callous”. I said.
“I have said my own”. Lisa said.
