CHAPTER 7
Tracy called Dorathy immediately telling her what was going on in her house. She told her her husband had threatened to take her children leaving her all alone.
Dorathy told Tracy Kennedy won't be able to leave her. She advised Tracy to keep playing along by playing the victim. Tracy thanked Dorathy and hung up.
Dorathy on the other end was filled with happiness. She knew Kennedy was a man of his words and was really going to leave Tracy if he doesn't find Dera.
Tracy went back to what she was cooking. When she had finished cooking, Kennedy was not yet back to the house. She made food ready for her children. They ate and slept off leaving her awake waiting for Kennedy to return.
Tracy checked her time and it said 8:47pm. Kennedy is not known for coming home late when ever he was around. Tracy wasn't at peace, she kept on trying Kennedy's number but he never picked her calls. She continued calling till he switched off his phone.
Tracy lost sleep, she was up till 11:53 when Kennedy came walking in with a stagger. He was tipsy because he drank a lot. Tracy quickly rushed to help him, he pushed her away and asked her to go find where his lucky charm Dera was.
The next day, after Kennedy left the house to continue his search as usual. He kept on going out every day searching for Dera. As the day went by, hopes of finding Dera kept reducing.
It was a week already and Kennedy was ready to fulfill the promise he made to his wife Tracy. He packed his things and that of his two kids. Ryan kept crying but Kennedy was not interested, he wanted to leave Tracy all alone.
Tracy who had soaked herself in her own tears called Dorathy and informed her. But Dorathy never showed up till Kennedy left the house with Ryan and Cynthia.
Tracy immediately called her brother Mark to come help her call back and beg her husband before he travels out of the city.
It was an hour already since Tracy called Mark and he was yet to show up. She called Mark again and someone else picked. Mark had been involved in a motorcycle accident and was rushed to the hospital.

Doctor Eunice has grown fond of Dera already even though she didn't want to. Dera was a very Obedient and hardworking girl. She was loved by her everyone who got to know her including her teachers.
Peter was happy with Dera and thanked God for bringing Dera into his life.
After school on a particular day, Peter had left his office to go bring Dera back from school because doctor Eunice said she was busy. Dera suggested she would like to go to the hospital where her mother works because she wants to be a doctor someday just like her mummy Eunice.
Peter concurred and they both decided to surprise doctor Eunice in her office.
Surprise....
Dera and Peter shouted out as they opened Doctor Eunice's office. She was really surprised seeing them. She was happy with their presence but also angry that Dera came to the hospital.
She had told peter she doesn't want to take Dera to the hospital but didn't give her reasons why. Peter thought she was afraid the hospital authorities will ask for Dera. So he had that covered.
Come here Eunice said spreading her arms wide as Dera ran into it. Peter didn't have more time to spend so he left Dera with doctor Eunice and went back to work.
Doctor Eunice just kept hoping that nothing will go wrong in the hospital that day. Someone had entered doctor Eunice's office, there was an emergency and she was needed immediately. Doctor Eunice warned Dera not to leave her office.
After doctor Eunice had left, she took quite a long time and wasn't coming back. Dera was bored and decided to see around the hospital. She wants to see what being a doctor looked like.
Dera was just looking around, she didn't see the little water someone had spilled in front of her. She walked on it and slipped. She fell with her arm and cried out in pains. A woman who was inside the hospital with some other ladies came and carried her up. She consoled Dera.
Thank you ma Dera said wiping her tears and holding her arm. What is your name pretty girl? The woman asked her with a smile.
My name is Dera she answered...
The woman kept staring at Dera like she felt a connection , and Dera also stared back at her.
Doctor Eunice walked in on them and her eyes opened wide. She quickly went towards Dera and held her by her arm.
Who is she ? the woman asked doctor Eunice inquisitively..
Ummmh...
She….
She was involved in an accident that almost took her life. A good Samaritan saved her life by bringing her to this hospital. She lost her memory so I decided to keep her till she can be able to remember who she is and go back to her parents.
I would love to see her again someday. There is something peculiar about her and I can't seem to place my hands on it the woman said with a smile.
Doctor Eunice faked a smile and went back to her office with Dera. She sat on her chair and placed her hand on her face. Her heart beat raced like someone who had seen a ghost. What she feared was coming to her faster than she ever thought.
When the day was over, Doctor Eunice went home with Dera and waited impatiently for Peter to come back. She was ready to confess all she had done. She can't keep carrying her sins all alone. She needs to lift off the burden.
Peter came back later than usual that day, he had a busy day. Doctor Eunice was patient enough to allow him take his shower and eat. When he was done eating and back to the parlor.
Doctor Eunice wore a worried face looking at Peter. What is the matter Peter asked showing concern.
I have something to tell you Honey...
I don’t know if you would forgive me…
I don’t know if you will ever see me as that loving wife that you got married to doctor Eunice said and tears started rolling down her cheeks.
What is it Peter asked coming closer to her..
I....
Dera came walking into the parlor with tears in her eyes....
What is it Dera doctor Eunice asked wiping the tears off her eyes immediately.
I remember who my parents are and where I come from Dera said wiping the continuous tears that kept rolling down her cheeks.
