MUSIC IN THE RAIN Final Episode 25 Amah’s Heart

Betty was unaware that Tom was around as Rick went on feeding her mind with love tales, reminding her what they had in the past.
Tom quietly moved closer, Rick saw him coming but did not stand or move away from Betty instead he hung over and when Tom cleared his throat loudly attracting Betty’s attention.

Betty turned and sawTom standing and watching her with a wrapped box in his hand. She quickly stood and went to him.

“Thanks for coming Tom, I didn’t know you are already around…
She kissed Tom in front of Rick, who became filled with envy and stood.
“Betty, this is gonna be a long fight.J’m not giving up on you because you are mine….all mine. We got something together…a child which I already know of.

We belong together and nothing and no one can change that. I messed up in the past but I’m back now and I will not let you do this to me. I can’t live the rest of my life knowing well that you belong to another man. You are mine Betty.J’m Rick Williams and I do not give up a fight easily. I will fight this to the end.

Tom did not say anything, Betty laugh before saying to Rick.
“Whatever we had died in the past. This is the father of my child….and not you. Rick Williams you had your chance but played it like a ball but Tom caught the ball and treasured it. He is the best father for my son, and the best man I can wish to be with. You are a nobody but a bunch of losers.
Rick made a fist at her and Tom stepped in, daring him to touch Betty.

Betty felt so powerful under Tom’s wing and continued talking.
“Rick, I regretted wasting my life with you. I hurt Tom all because of you, I almost died where I went for abortion all because of you. Your girlfriend could have killed me right in your presence and you did nothing. You told me you were using me to while away time until Magi will returns.

You told me to get rid of the bastard I was carrying because you can’t be blackmailed into accepting what is not yours. You kicked me out and called me names Rick. I suffered so much trauma, my musical career was on hold. I bore the pain of gossip mongers. You almost destroyed my life. How dare you even come here reminding me of what we had in the past because the only thing I remember was all your betrayal.

Tom was there and Tom will be here always. He is my son’s best friend and I love him with all my heart. Yes with everything in me…l was blinded and couldn’t see how much of a good man Tom is. You can fight from now till eternity but I assure you that you will remain a looser. My life is back on track, I’m beginning to enjoy what I love doing again which is my musical career that you cut short.

I’m living my life and even got invites to sing at the Brook celebrity premier. My album will be out soon and I’m building a dancing club for teens. Everything I thought will only be dream to me is happening in reality all thanks to my Dad, Alan.

You boast with your father’s status and called me a broke ass girl who is searching for a way to blackmail you. Now we are almost in same level, but I will not boast with my father’s wealth because I’m not stupid like you. I’m working hard to have my own name. A good name to reckon with and all my desires will come to past. Tom is my superhero go and find another victim to traumatize but I’m too good for you.

Rick swallowed hard, he dropped the bouquet of flowers on the floor before walking away out of anger. He got into his car and drove off.

Tom turned to Betty, drawing her into his arm with a full smile on his face.
“I can’t believe you said all that. Did you mean it when you referred to me as your superhero?
“Yes, I meant every word that I just said and I love you Tom. I will not allow anyone come between us ever again. I’m sorry for my past mistakes and I’m here to stay if you will let me.

“I love you Betty…l have always loved you and I don’t think I will ever stop. I was so hurt and did not want to be hurt again by the same woman I love with all my heart. I thought you will never be mine and I try to zero my mind from anything concerning you but I just couldn’t.

Your grandma will not even let me. She was always talking about you, always serving me delicious cookies and tea anytime I visit, sometimes she stop by my place to give me home made food. Eunice made me wish I was part of your family and part of your life. I was so thrilled to hear you say all that to Rick. Please Betty, I don’t want to lose you again. Please stay with me. I felt so sad, angry and lonely after my Grandma passed on.

Eunice was always there and she helped me to pack up most of the things. I wanted to be in her cycle because your grandma is kind and strong woman and I deeply appreciate all she did even talking me out of leaving Brook many times. Because staying in Brook was depressing…loosing everyone that had ever matters to me and even the love of my life.

I was finding it difficult to cope but Eunice wouldn’t let me leave Brook. She was always encouraging. And now I’m glad that I didn’t leave. Having you and Dan is having the world to me and I will forever cherish you.
Betty kissed him and collected the gift he got for her happily.

She took him inside and introduce him to Alan and Mat. Alan was please to meet Tom. Eunice laugh out on seeing Tom too. She was so happy and began to dance around the house. She never knew that Betty invited Tom to the mansion. Everyone laugh at Eunice dance steps even Betty joined in the dance, teaching her grandma some new steps. Suddenly, Alan joined in and followed by Mat and little Dan. Tom was busy clapping when Betty drag him into the stepping and put one of her music.

Everyone was stepping and dancing to Betty’s music when Ben and Camdy came in. they wondered what was going on, what was the celebration all about. They came back to change for the boat cruising but found every one dancing and Betty was the leader of the family dance group.
Camdy laughed before joining in and so was Ben. The whole house was stepping happily and they all later boast our laughing so hard.

They got dressed and left for their boat cruise.
It was fun filled and Tom was happy to be in the means of loving people and with the love of his life.
Camdy and Ben later got married and Betty was Camdy’s chief bridesmaid. They wedded and move into their house. Camdy worked in Ben’s hospital with the special center faculty. Where she attend to those with special needs.
Betty released her first album which became a hit in Brook. It went viral.

She later released two other album. Her musical career took a great turn and she was invited to different places and countries to perform. She was a good dancer and a great singer.
Rick try every means to get back Betty but he failed and even Alan, Betty’s father have to interfere in the affair. Alan warned Rick to stay away from his daughter and even went to the extent of meeting Rick’s father and telling Williams to put a leash on his son so that he doesn’t come near his daughter again.

Rick refused to give up. He tries to get a DNA test for his son to ascertain who the father was. He tries every means to take custody of his son and to also have Betty back but Betty through the help of her father and her fiance Tom, she won the court case.

Mr Williams, Ricks father asked his son to leave Alan’s daughter alone because is obvious the girl will never want him. Rick later give up the fight and left Betty and her son alone, he moved on with his life, it was a great lesson losing both Betty and his son’s custody which he won’t never forget
Betty later got married to Tom in a small gathering of people.

She did not want crowd and Tom also agreed for few gathering of family members and friends. Florence and her family where present. Alice invited Mr Phil and her former colleague Mia to Brook for her elder sister’s wedding.
Alan walk his daughter down the aisle and hand her over to Tom.
Dan was the ring bearer during his mum’s wedding to Tom.

Camdy who was six months pregnant was there with her husband, Ben and her parents also came.
Few people from Brook including Mrs Smith witnessed the union between Tom and Betty.
After the wedding, Tom officially adopted Dan as his own son.
Camdy and her husband welcomed a baby boy.

Betty also gave birth to a daughter. Her husband was so happy and couldn’t get enough of his family. His wife, his son and his daughter was a great blessing to him. He shed tears of joy as the little baby was placed in his arms.
Alice after college went to law school where she met her high school friend and they later got married.

Eunice lives the rest of her days in a joyful fulfillment as her great grandchildren keep increasing.
Betty became one of Brook celebrity. She was well known both in Eastern and Northern Brook and far beyond.
She had her own musical school and it was very affordable to those who couldn’t afford it.

While Tom and the kids where busy playing inside that evening. Betty sat by the pool side with her worn out journal.
“…I was afraid to end up like mother after getting pregnant. Afraid to give birth to a child with no father. Afraid of been tag a failure.

My music was going to die off, well so I thought until my life change like a fairy-tale. I became a girl with a mother and a father, with a loving husband and amazing children. A fragile little girl who turned to be a woman. My music is shooting fort like a star. I dance with lesser worry, with satisfying hope for a greater tomorrow. And remain grateful to my creator who turned my sad stories to miracle. To my sister Alice. To my best friend Camdy. To my Mum, Florence. To my dad Alan.

To my two step brothers, Ben and Mat. To my husband Tom, my son Daniel, my Daughter who I named after my grandmother Eunice and to my grandma who became part of my success, without her love and tender care I would have ended up in the street or even dead, I remain grateful to everyone who became part of my story. I’m glad life took a great turn and tomorrow feels better. I can even dance in the rain without the fear of cold because I’m surrounded by strong arms….”

Betty closed her journal. She look at the pool water, breathed deeply and smile.
Her husband came out smiling after putting the kids to sleep. He bent over and kissed her, sat beside her and held her hands in his.

Their loving Silent was louder than the thousands words spoken out. They both believe that even the future is smiling down on them.
