MARRIED TO MY TEACHER Episode 6 – KULAYEMEN JOSEPH AONDOWASE
Clement and Ephraim owned their personal shops by the time I graduated from secondary school. They used the little money they saved while working under their bosses to set up their working places. Although their businesses were not large but they were doing very well.
I graduated but I had nothing doing so I went back to the company to continue my hawking not even minding my age. My boss was not too young again but he was still working as our manager.
One day, he called me into his office to have a conversation with me. I thought maybe I did something wrong because I was always with him but we never had a private discussion. When I entered his office, he asked me to sit on the guest seat. When I sat down, he began his conversation,
” Joseph my boy, you are the only man I trusted in this company, even my co-workers cannot gain the trust I have for you. Sometimes I wished you are my son, not that my children are bad children just that having you as one of my son would have made me more happier. Your parents are not that rich neither are they poor, but I have never heard you took something that doesn’t belong to you. You might think I don’t know anything about you because you never discussed your family background with me. But, I do. I always checked on you just to be sure that you doesn’t pretend while being at work, but even your teachers in school confirmed to me that you are a good man. I am impressed about that”.
I only sat there listening to him carefully because I never wanted to miss a word out of what he was saying. ” You are neither getting younger just like me, so I want you to write JAMB. Because you and I don’t know when your helper will come. Even if you don’t have the money for the registration, I will give you”. He interrupted my silence.
I was very happy when he said that. I thanked him for always been good to me.
I went home happily that day. when I got home, no one was around, my parents went to the market for trade while my siblings were still at work. It was boring for me staying at home alone but I never wanted to leave home to any of my friend’s place.
I was having a nap on the parlour when I heard a knock on the door, I was weak but still furious to know who it was, so I had to open the door for who was knocking. When I opened it, I saw Lizzy. I was very happy. ” now I have someone to talk to, ” I said to her and smiled. She was happy seeing me too. I rushed into my room to bring out ludo game because I knew that was her favorite game.
We played Ludo for a long time while having our conversation until she got tired. She told me she wanted to rest. To me, I will not be tired even if she keeps talking to me for a whole day.
I went outside to pick something and when I came back, she was deeply asleep, I looked at her pretty face and smiled. But my eyes were no longer ready to stop staring at her. The more I stared, the more the direction of my eyes were only on her lips. My heart ❤️❤️ started beating faster and I was no longer able to control it. I took my lips closer to kiss her so deeply, but when my lips were an inch to hers, she opened her eyes. She saw me but never reacted and she closed her eyes back. I was no longer scared, I still wanted to kiss her when my phone rang. The feelings went away and I whispered into her ears ” sleep “.
