MARRIED TO MY TEACHER
Episode 3
My parents gave me their blessings and I resumed work as a full personnel. I was dedicated to my work. I never allowed anything illegal to come between my work. In as much as I was always busy with work, I never forsakes my God. Because I believed the saying ” in anything you do, put God first and it will work out successfully for you.
God was always on my side, I hawked on the street morning till evening but no vehicle ever brushed me, and I always returned home safely.
I hawked FanMilk for 3 years and the money I saved was more than enough for my admission. My parents never spent a penny from the money, although I was saving it myself because they asked me to. Maybe they were testing me but, I am the type that even if you set 100 traps, I will not fall for any of them.
My parents never allowed us to lack anything, they provided for our clothing and other stuffs. So the money I was been paid at work was still intact.
Within that period of three years, the money I saved was enough to pay my fees till I graduate from secondary school. But I asked myself, ” if I enroll myself into a secondary school, what about my siblings? How can I be going to school while my younger ones will be at home? Will my attention be in the class? ” I thought of what I will do and suddenly, a thought came to my mind. I said to myself ” Clement has always wanted to be a mechanical engineer while Ephraim has always wanted to be a computer scientist. So the best option is to enroll clement at ogah Sunny Mechanic village and Ephraim at Climax computer cafe. While my two sisters will manage either hair dressing or tailoring, whatever they choose “. I was happy about that decision. That was my best decision since I became an adult and I knew there were no mistakes in it because I felt it.
But the money was not as expected again, so I had to be going to work sometimes if my school dismisses on time.
I discussed my plans with my parents, they were very happy, they never knew I can save such money from the little hawking business ( but consistency and a pure heart ❤️❤️ did it for me ). They knew I would never disappoint them but how I managed to save that money was what they found difficult to understand. From that day on, my dad never called me Joseph again, he was calling me by My nickname Mcmech ( meaning Honorable ). That’s to say that my dad was the one that nicknamed me Mcmech which some of my friends call me today.
On the 12th day of the month of September, all schools resumed, I went with my dad to Trinity college for my admission procedures. I was scared when they headmaster told me that I will be interviewed before been admitted into J.S.S 1. I thought I won’t be able to answer any of his questions. But I gathered all the courage to overcome my fear. I answered all his questions bravely. Due to how brave I was and my age, the headmaster advised my father to at least admit me into J.S.S. 2. But I said NO because I was not just to school to graduate but I was going to school because I wanted to achieve something.
The next day, I went to work to inform my boss that I was to start school the following week. He was happy for me, though he was going to miss his best hawker because he considered me as one. But I had to be going to work sometimes inorder not to run out of cash in school.
