MARRIED TO MY TEACHER Episode 2 – KULAYEMEN JOSEPH AONDOWASE
Immediately the manager permitted us to go, I rushed home to inform my parents about the good news. When I got home, my parents were very angry at me for living home for a long time without telling them the actual place I was going. Although it was my fault but I never taught I will stay for a long time. I apologized to them for not going home on time. They forgave me and warned me not to keep them worried again. My younger sister served me the lunch that was prepared for me. It seemed the taste of that of that food was the best taste in a food.
Later that night, I went to my parents to inform them about my hustle. I thought they will even be more happy than I, but I was shocked when my dad was against it. I tried to make him understand, reminding him of how I have not been myself seeing my mates in school while I was still at home. But my dad is the type that once he says NO it stands.
My mother asked me to go to my room. She promised to talk to my dad and make him change his decision. I knew that my dad was only ashamed seeing his children going through much stress. And sometimes he was even ashamed of looking at our faces knowing fully well that he cannot Carter for our needs.
I went to bed that night in a sad mood. I wept bitterly to the extent that I had a slight headache. But a voice said to me in my heart ❤️❤️ ” Tears cannot solve any problem right now. This is the time to decide what is right and abide by it “. Immediately the taught ran through my mind, I wiped my tears and Said to myself ” I have never disobeyed you dad, but I don’t think this is the right time to abide by your decision “.
I was not having the qualities of a grown up adult. Although I was 17 years but, what if my dad throws me out of his house… ” I thought “. I was scared but I remembered what he always says ” one cannot wake up one day and decide to be an adult. He must start from somewhere and learn how to take care of his responsibilities as a man “.
The Next day, I woke up very early before anyone could and I went to work without taking my bath because I never wanted anyone to notice what was going on. When I got to my workplace, I was very happy. I forgot the troubles at home and I felt as if I was in another word. It could be, because that was my first time working on my own to earn some cash. I and some hawkers were given some push carts which were used in hawking the FanMilk.
My day was stressful but I was contented with it. I knew it was just a matter of time and I was going to get used to it.
Later that evening, we all returned to the company with the Left over milks and the money for the sales of the day. I was shocked when my manager recommended my sale as the highest sale of the day. And that gave me more morale. I totally forgot that my dad was against my decision and I left home without informing anyone.
On my way back home, I saw my dad standing outside our compound when I got close to our home. He stood just like someone who who is worried about something. But I was not much worried because I never wanted to spoil my happy mood. When I got close to him, he was shocked when he saw me, the next thing that came out of his mouth was ” where have you been? ” Immediately, I remembered what I did, but before I could open my mouth to defend myself, a heavy slap landed on my face. Before I could even apologize, another heavy slap landed on my left eye. I received a thorough beating that night. I was not given any food, neither was I allowed to take my bath and sleep inside. I slept on the cold corridor outside.
The next morning, my dad came to where I was sleeping very early and woke me up to get inside. I was scared thinking maybe he wanted to just kill inside but I followed him because he sounded in a sympathetic way. He served me water to have my bath. He also gave me bread and a warm coffee. Meanwhile my siblings and my mom where still asleep. I sat with my dad to have a man to man discussion. But that was my first time sitting with him to have a discussion without my mom. He confessed to me that my mom pleaded on my behalf and he accepted to let me do the work, Since he has not been able to take care of us. That alone gave him sleepless nights. But when they woke up yesterday, I was nowhere to be found.
That was my mistake, I would of waited for them to wake up since my mom promised to talk to him on my behalf.
